  1. Interesting info When you like at the railway tracks in the area from google earth it appears you'd need someone off the krypton factor to work out what goes where !
  2. DB cargo uk, is in a world of trouble it appears right now, I think the last thing they want to really spend money on is any unnecessary resprays. For their 900 redundancies I heard they had 1600 applicants !
  3. If I was Hornby I'd wait now and see if they remove the schenker bit !
  4. No worries . It's not always apparent what is allowed and what isn't . I've just done a DG renewal , we currently have a lot of head scratching over lithium / lithium ion batteries
  5. Just seen a video clip of 66717 passing through Maidstone with a single warflat and warrior on board apaorantly to assess if " tanks " can go via the Chunnel. Also suggested that ashchurch will stay open for another ten years as a vehicle maintenance storage for MOD. How nice would 66779 in green look on a train of " tanks " ( I know they are not actually tanks )
  6. I'm a tad confused .... A layout you don't do any modelling on, and a stock list of real or imagined future stock ? Some photos would make it clear
  7. Nice, these original EWS 66s must be classic traction now.......... ( runs for cover )
  8. Not much DE this time round, but still find the rest interesting
  9. Unfortunately under IATA rules , aerosols of paint are considered " dangerous goods " and not to be carried I believe in hold or carry on
  10. It's a very modellable area I think .nice scenery, lots of trains ( not on a Saturday !) Marcus37 has done it great justice on his peak dale wood layout
  11. May have gone then , but looked pretty sharp in street view . What amazed me was how big the quarry was that this us the entrance to
  12. Nice work I'd be interested in your mainland grey 37 - was it easy to get sector logo off ? Made a right hash of 694 trying to get coal logo off ?
  13. I can guess who that is, shame though as we all know people's concentration drops off when it's too hot. We have similar issue in aviation with one type, where you an open the side window s and some airports won't let you get he aircon on... Actually Almost 20 years oldfirst EWS one was delivered march 98.
  14. Heathrow express is great, but works out more expensive than running a Bentley
  15. [qugote name=highpeakman" post="2747521" timestamp="1496916647] So would I! It's just behind the signal box at Great Rocks if I remember rightly. If someone is visiting then please let me know if it is still like it but the main question is still "why?". I have a bunch of photos taken at the same time plus some others of the 80s operations. I could post in a new thread (or on this one if the OP doesn't mind or, indeed, if anyone is interested)? Yeah, be good to see those, put em here if you like...I changed the topic name
  16. Cheap ! 20 mins in a hunter is about £3k... I think these footplate experiences above are about what I would expect to pay TBH
  17. Crickey , looks like my peco flexitrack ! I'd love to see a 66 try and get round that...
  18. Thanks Jon, Yes I agree that mainline was a great colour scheme. I'd like to do 065 to, but split code ends are quite hard to come by and attract a premium if you can find them. I remember a very strange freight about 2000, when it ran from Fawley to aylesbury with fuel oil tanks as there was a strike on. 248 was a good one as well. Howes were temporarily out of Strathclyde orange, which I why I was looking for a replacement, and also being. Lazy as I have an airbrush but haven't got it out it's packaging yet in over a year ! I think we are both lucky to remember this period , I was a tad older than you though I think !
  19. Giving the pit an edge of ' don't fall in ' red Red prayed my Lima 37 test body in white primer as grey is no good for orange they say Then sprayed in Halfords ' warehouse orange ' that looked a dead ringer for load haul on the can As you can see in the flesh it's not even close ! First visitor to fledgling fuel point was 66209 for a look sey
