Good choice - classic loco. I shied away from that due the flush front at one end....

I have a picture of a 40 at Bristol bath road in the ' diesels on shed '.
If you ever want to to borrow a white roof 47 for a bit of variety let me know...

Shame,
I don't understand why you'd take a successful enterprise and run it into the ground
-
Seeing as I've never shown any interest in plants etc, she may get the jist if I suddenly did...
-
Strange ,I've never had any issues with bachy 47s from 035 to 535.
Now Hornby 31s what a PITA

Kernow also do points

Wow, they don't have much SOH do they then ?
I think it's pathetic a large company getting arsey over toy trains

I love this layout - so plausible !

Interesting idea.
I don't need o e, but I hope it does well for the museum.

Used Peco for 16 years, cheap and cheerful.
When I go fine scale I'll use some thing more finescale....
-
How about warming it up in some hot water to make it malleable ?
-
Looks like it's a fun layout to operate with lots of potential both mainline and shunting

Railways driving you to drink stu !
Such a healthy hobby we have, it makes me swear as well...

If the peak doesn't turn up in October, I'm writing to my MP !
Whatever, it's a toy train...

Another layout up my alley.
Best of luck, I'll be watching

I was contemplating getting one , but I ind I'm put off these days if they bodies don't come off easily for DCC installation.
Why can't they put a sliding hatch in the bottom of the fuel tank with a socket there ?
It just shows lack of thought and I'd have thought 50 % of people may want to chip their lcos these days

I've had both.
The Hornby one has better detail, but I kept knocking it off.
The Bachmann one is enduring and more liveries - I had an original one which ran like a dog due to dirty ( and hard to get at ) pick ups.
I have but one now, a later Bachmann 08839, which runs great. So if you get a Bachmann get a later one.

And....nothing...
Just wondered if it was deliberate or a cock up ...
-
Ah, now that's useful.
Dumbass here didn't think of getting the black off. I'll strip that first and undercoat, may get better adhesion then.
I'll have a look at the humbrol range maybe something nearer mustard .

Thanks lee,
I only wanted to paint a 47 head ode panel from black, but it seems it will be a major undertaking
-
37479 in mainline , nice, but fictious number ?

Nice work...
Can I ask what you use paint wise to match to Bachmann blue diesels warning panel yellow ? Seems a lot more mustard than the railmatch 1202 pre 84 warning panel yellow

Nice work,
Was the 46 , the D registered current one from Bachman.
I'd like a flush fronted one - have you done that from the head code version ?
