  1. If you can find one you’re in luck with 31111 has Hornby have already done this one, R2571
  2. Would assume it will be a shrunk down version of the Redlands / Lafarge PGA hopper not the yeoman one
  3. Can assure you it’s not....see attached W.I.P shot. It is possible to model the same loco you know. Be interested to see your attempt by the way
  4. The other, non cut, end And one to show the small IC lettering
  5. Yes but was, printing came off fine. Bufferbeam cut at one end as per 589. But also then needs the chassis to be cut and shut to get the correct profiles for each end.
  6. And here’s 589. Not done from 832 obviously but something a bit different
  7. 065 (along with 019 and 100) nose ends are pretty different to the Bachmann flush ends of a 37/5 Doors were retained and not plated up also the marker lights were in a higher non standard position
  8. It did work for EWS in these colours, plenty of pics of it. I stuck it out on its first job out of store...light loco toton to Corby to work the cars to Doncaster, was reinstated for the 2004 Sandie season for sure
  9. The beauty of the Bachmann printing is that isn’t too difficult to remove so the longer name shouldn’t be too much of an issue....I did about 6 renumbers of 47710 a few months back and didn’t have any problems removing them with t-cut / cotton bud
  10. Indeed but could the same not be said for plenty of other models that’s been produced? In theory you could pick a certain diagram number, body type, chassis, buffer type etc and run with it....in the much the same vein as the current PGA, how many different builds of those are they? Probably a dozen or more body types before you start drilling down into the detail. Got to start somewhere haven’t you?
  11. ZCA sea urchin? A few differing body types granted but would be a relatively easy one compared to some of the other suggestions perhaps
  12. Currently yes, but once upon a time it was as per 805 albeit with Class 60 bufferheads at one end so is a viable option I guess
  13. Well to my eyes it looks pretty awesome and testament to the work you guys have put in. Can't wait to to see the liveried samples
  14. Ah right thanks, didn't realise they were converted as early as that, had 91/92 in my head for some reason So if they produced the RFB it's CDL and the SO/BSO with out it's still going to look odd Assume while rakes went in for fitting at the same time as opposed to odd vehicles so the chance of mixed rakes were slim? You'd have thought they produce the same style at the same time, for the sake of arguments a batch of early logo / non CDL and then another run with later logo and CDL fitted
  15. Would it be possible to clear something up regarding the Intercity release? Assuming I am reading everything right the latest painted samples show the older style livery with original lettering and no CDL, no issue there The RFB though can only be produced with the later italicised logo and CDL’s can it not How does that work then? You’d have thought the intercity releases would have all been the same variant to allow a rake to be produced. Yes you could change the logos to the later style but they won’t be CDL fitted so the RFB will look a little odd as being the only one fitted
  16. Done it on about a dozen locos now and haven't had to resort to the depths you describe, I've just opened up the holes for the switches
  17. Yes the logos on 599 differ to the ones on 359. 599 got cut down class 37 ones I think look at the bottom of the logo on the pic you linked. ETH yes not difficult, didn't say it was Wrong shaped boiler blanking plate on 599 as opposed 359 As I said some will be happy to over look (guilty of this myself) others look for 100% copy, again each to their own and what's good about the hobby.
  18. Roof is incorrect for 599 too, also the logos are wrong and you’d need to source ETH jumpers too Again depends whether people are happy with a representation of a favourite loco or a 100% accurate copy.... that’s what’s good about our hobby, everyone has differing levels, so long as you are happy with that level who cares what others think
  19. Boiler tanks are available as spares and just clip in Boiler blanking plate could modded with available etchings. Depends what level of accuracy the OP wants I guess as thankfully everyone’s modelling tastes and skills are different.
  20. 37068 still available to buy 47006 is a simple enough rebadging job from 47359
  21. If you enlarge the pic you can clearly see it's not flush so you can sleep easy
  22. Just put oxford blue aerosol into google and you'll find of suppliers who can do the exact shade required in an aerosol if that's your preferred method of painting
  23. Army liveried VDA's only ever used on internal military depots as far as I am aware.
  24. Agree but the white stripe does come away easy enough with some t-cut / cotton bud. I have done several locos like this up to press and it really opens up some interesting locos
