  1. Thanks for the info, very useful, I'm hoping to do the Dapol N Gauge version
  2. Hi Thanks for that, I was aware that Hornby had done theirs in blue/grey, but, it is the article I am after as I want to convert the Dapol N Gauge version.
  3. Hi All I remember seeing some time ago an article showing the changes needed and the conversion of the Hornby LNER Gresley buffet car to be suitible for the last ones in service in Blue/Grey livery, can't remember if it was in the mainstream modelling mags or a Rail Express modeling supplement, If someone remembers this article can you remind me what magazine/issue it was in please? Ian
  4. Hi just wondering if anyone has a copy of the above book they no longer want or know of one in a 2nd had book dealer?
  5. Hi Kevin just wondering, are there any plans for further D & E 60’s volumes?
  6. POWsids do a set of LMS Meat/Fish van transfers, but, it doesnt seem to include the "FISH" lettering - https://www.powsides.co.uk/product.php/lms_meat-fish_vans/?k=:::794666:0
  7. Interesting bit on the BBC F 1 site re the GP at Imola - “F1 has introduced a compressed two day on track schedule at Imola as an experiment as it looks to build longer championship seasons” - so Imola will be 1 practice Saturday morning, qualifying Saturday afternoon and the race on Sunday.
  8. Shades of the Nordschleiffe, pity we couldn't have had a F1 race around there this year.
  9. Sorry, no, Lewis is let down by his own inability to know the rules and listen to the drivers briefing, then manages to shift the blame to others, absolutely typical of him. He shouldn't have to ask where to do practise starts, he should know, it is briefed out.
  10. Interesting one yesterday, coming up the slip road in Port Talbot to join the M4 I was confronted by a someone who instead of using the slip road to accelerate into the carriageway had decided to stop dead and was indicating waiting for they traffic to slow down to let him/her in as you would at a T junction!
  11. A bit off topic, but, this weekend is Le mans 24hrs, it can be watched live on Eurosport.
  12. But the whole idea behind the safety car is to SLOW the field down so that I and my colleagues can do our job safely, it is quite scary to be on track picking up bits of car when the others are bearing down on you and weaving to keep their tyres warm, been there done that, nearly got taken out once by a Formula Ford who lost control of his weaving and spun behind the safety car.
  13. Not churlish at all, if you were able to listen back over the grand prix where there was a safety car involved, Hamilton always has a dig at it, he has never realised that the safety car is there to slow the drivers down so it is safe for people like me who work at the side of the rack to do our job safely, As Michael Masi the race director put it he finds it personally offensive when someone like Hamilton suggests that entertainment is being put before safety, and I know a number of marshalls feel the same way, he is not the only one, but, he does seem to be one of the most vocal. There has been a consensus of opinion for a number of years that it would be a good idea for drivers to spend one practise session a season with the marshalls, there was one championship that did this and encouraged the drivers to do this by awarding a couple of extra points towards the championship for divers who had their race card signed by the post chief.
  14. Okay I see where you are coming from. maybe there is a case for saying No driver is to accelerate until a given point so the cross the "acceleration" line in order and accelerate so the lead driver would accelerate first followed by the field in order., but, would that then sterilise the restart
  15. you forgot the other bee in my bonnet, dog owners who do pick up the poo in bags, but, then leave the bags at the side of the path or throw the bag into the hedges instead of taking the bag to a bin.
  16. Well it wouldn't be a safety car period without Hamilton complaining about the safety car.
  17. Sorry, how do you work that one out?
  18. May have to invoke the 2hr rule.
  19. Are the windows cut out on the Electra Vinyls or are they completely flat?
  20. Hi all I want to re-livery a Dapol N gauge 153 as per the current Transport for Wales livery, I think I have 2 options, repaint and use TFW transfers(If they are available) or use Electra Vinyl sides, could I ask for some opinions regarding the pros and cons of each approach please?
  21. Apart from having the best commentary team in the business.
  22. Marvellous idea, success ballast as they do in BTCC
  23. Best idea they've come up with for a long time, make the racing a lot more unpredictable and give someone else a shot at the championship instead of handing it to Hamilton on a plate.
