Hi
Brian it was me enquiring as to the date it burnt down, Llandarcy and Felin Fran were both reduced to ground frames, however, Llandarcy was still manned by signalmen, I know this because it was my first signalling post when I joined the railway in 1979, the staffing at Llandarcy was a signalman, chargeman and examiner on two shifts, the chargeman and examiner also covered the traffic to Clydach, the train would pick up the chargeman at Llandarcy and he would then operate Felin Fran Box. The box itself burnt down in 1986 so by the time I was appointed to Port Talbot PSB in 1991 we used to manually move and clip the points at the junction for the train to get onto the branch, a job I did several times travelling from Port Talbot for the purpose.
