  1. That says maximum load 150kgs.......thats surely most on this forum stopped from using it..
  2. You only need to vent one of the soil pipes direct to air on the one furthest from a manhole and could use an AAV on the other. An alternative is to vent them through ridge vents and use a mix of flexible and rectangular ducting up the rafters. they aren't carrying anything but fumes, so there are plenty of products available. If you do use a mix then I'd tape the joints for good measure. The ridge vents have the advantage that there's always a small void of space below the ridge to make a joint between vent & pipe. My job in the next day or so is to form the 'flaunch' within a live manhole with a vets at the head of the soil pipe........lovely.....
  3. It's not the 2 cents difference that made me laugh but that you'd picked a currency high on one day in the last 3700 days to try and prove a point. As for Greece having a strong currency, sure it has, while Germany artificially props it up. Sadly for Greece there are troubled times ahead as the debt that has been set aside for the future by the likes of Goldman Sachs will rear its head in 3-5 years time. This is the same Goldman Sachs that now has Manuel Barroso as its chairman who was the former EU President. He was of course found not to have breached the code of ethics but was found to have a poor lack of judgement in accepting the post after leaving the EU with his former staff issuing the petition to have him investigated. As for Poland, their economy is being powered by 1 million plus Ukranian immigrants, with a high proportion working illegally. Thats not an ideal example to quote. I've an open mind on Brexit as neither option is wonderful, but you get what you vote for and this is what we've got so may as well get on with it. As for the price of models, we haven't been paying anywhere near the same as others for years which is why the likes of Hornby have struggled.
  4. Haven't seen those since we stopped Artexing....good for Stipple. Comb was achieved by the ladder falling over in the same direction every time
  5. I went to the USA twice in 2007 and the £ never hit such a high rate against the $ the highest was $2.10 on one day in November (the 8th) https://www.poundsterlinglive.com/bank-of-england-spot/historical-spot-exchange-rates/gbp/GBP-to-USD-2007 At exchange I got between $1.95 and $2.00, To get $2.12 the actual rate would have been nearly $2.18. In 2000 we had to convert a lot of $ to £, luckily it was early in the year when it was around $1.60 when July rolled around it was down to $1.40. As for your last sentence, load of tosh. Just as an example I've come back from watching Rally Spain, I would hate to be unemployed there, a rate of 17% (nearly 40% if you're a young person) against ours at 5%. Get away from the big cities and see the poverty and near subsistance living. All of this in a region that wants independence which would mean leaving the European Union (and yes they understand that when you talk to those that want it) All statistics can be manipulated to prove a point but we do have a habit of thinking the grass is always greener on the other side, when in reality it isn't, it's just the same.
  6. Why not buy an alarm. Not picking on you but this is a classic, we say we only want a phone, but find the other things it can do and use them. In the defence of 'Smartphones' I'll say this. To me they are a tool (not a lifestyle) and if you use them they can enhance your life. As an example I've just come back from watching WRC (Rally) in Spain, out on the dusty stages where I didn't want to get the camera out, I used the phone (4 year old iPhone 5) and on the PC the results are the same for both pictures and video. Even in remote parts of Spain we had 4G and were able to see the times and results as they happened rather than having to wait until the end of the day. I was able to read RMweb in the evenings as well as email and use it as an alarm. I'm not a slave to it but it can be useful.
  7. They have also ignored the data protection act as well. Whilst he was an applicant for employment, he never took up the offer, as such he should not be on their records as an 'active' employee able to receive income. I would question them further as to what information they hold on him as he has already been confused with another.
  8. The negative point for them are the amount of bandage you need for trapped fingers when they fail. The positive point is the value I get for them as scrap when they get tossed in my skips. Can't stand them and won't allow them on site as I've seen too many fail.
  9. I only gave the old Greeley shorties which I use for cut and shuts, if you use a pair of tweezers to squeeze the pivot lug they'll drop out. They seem interchangeable with the older ones. I don't have any newer so can't vouch it's the same.
  10. I already do this for some overseas mates. It gets to be like Red Cross parcels
  11. Say goodbye to your sanity
  12. I think so, if nothing else there'll be a merging or streamlining of manufacture.
  13. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Sty65gnx3SQ Couldn't resist it.
  14. We just used Monarch a week ago to go to Madeira, a very pleasant experience with on time clean aircraft and plenty of legroom. A shame to see it pull the plug but understandable with the currency fluctuation as well as the cancellation of a majority of its flights to Egypt and Turkey some time ago. I'm booked on Easyjet Wednesday to Barcelona (World Rally Championship) be interesting to see how they fare since the last time we used them.
  15. I'm also a satisfied customer so this is an unashamed plug for H&A. They also attend our Biggleswade show in Feb as traders.
  16. They don't need to buy them. A short distance from me is a 24 year old girl working part time, she walked out of the showroom with an Audi Q7, must be £40k+. I'm sure the salesman got quite a commission off that pile of debt he passed on.
  17. This isn't the same group that wishes to borrow vast sums of money by chance ? on the premise that money's never been so cheap....and yet the BoE said rates are certainly set to rise next month....
  18. Hostility ? With respect I think you've missed the whole point of the thread and peoples experiences. As a trader he has taken money, not supplied the product and not refunded when asked. He has been taken to law through the civil court and found in the wrong, and at the last post had still not refunded. As for a rescue mission, he has been offered help to get on an even keel by people such as Ian Kirk and did not respond. I think peoples patience has run out with him, I certainly ignore the range now and either source from elsewhere or produce my own in resin or etch.
  19. Reminds me of kitchen fitting in the past, Several times I was asked when quoting, to fill the kitchen with 'Smeg' Customers needed to be much clearer when specifying to avoid confusion as well as arrest.
  20. You dismiss Dyson without any knowledge of his intentions and promote the automotive manufacturers as the leaders of innovation. eeeerrrrr Elon Musk....the founder of Paypal, no experience beforehand but saw an opportunity. Dyson is not just a vacuum company, it is a company that makes products and employs engineers to work on solutions, some of which are battery related. Auto companies make products as well as a collection of engineers who work on things such as batteries.... My father worked in the USA for 14 years and said had he been working there in the 60's/70's then we would all have upped sticks and moved there, his reason was that they actively promote and admire success while here we just give the successful a kicking or talk them down.
  21. Looks good Tony. I'm reminded of the tales of an ex KX driver, he used to say that the Baby Deltics should never have run light engine, they should always have been coupled to a BG, as that had the capacity for the quantity of fire extinguishers required for a main line trip to Donnie.
  22. Yeh.. like wow.....and it kinda like stops you from like..... gettin into an accident.... Eeeerrrr that's "cause an accident"........ I note it is oversubscribed by X5, how long before some muppets think it's a good idea for here.
  23. You're right, what we need are low grade jobs rather than the lucrative bit.
