  1. Probably not.....if they've got a chemmie toilet (A Turdis) just wait for the cacophony to start. Most in the trade have various 'Fart Apps' on the phone. all used to good effect.** I wouldn't .....especially if you're prone to crying when you realise how much your house cost... ** I used mine in Heathrow term 5 toilets .....there's quite an echo..
  2. If he cycles a regular route we can take it turns to get him.
  3. We had a GNR Society trip there earlier in the year to see the Ex GN coaches they have either under restoration or in the vintage train. We had a superb day and were made very welcome. Sadly there wasn't anything in steam so as a recompense we were given a walk through the 12W LNWR Dining car which was excellent.
  4. It was, it was just a bit too complicated for you.
  5. If you're going to insult someone at least learn to punctuate so it reads correctly.
  6. I'm guessing you went for Peco code 75 for that..........................
  7. 3 of us are going to Peterborough today, we're going to watch out as there's a rumour the fans of bladed turbine propulsion and BR ballast ploughs are going to clash with some choreographed dance moves. We'll stick to the East side or It'll end in tears.
  8. Hmmmmm...as most are 13' long that's some boiler.....
  9. On Thursday evening I was returning from Bedford and decided to use the A428 to Black cat, at 7.30pm I thought it was quiet but promptly joined the rear of a very slow moving 2 mile queue. about a mile from Black cat I saw a Police car coming down the middle with Blues and Two's so like everyone else moved over to let him through ( no hard shoulder but there are some nice big gully's and run off's). After he passed me and about 5 cars in front he came up behind a small Peugot who just sat there, either half asleep or on the phone. There must have been 10-15 seconds before he shot to the right and the Police car went past, he then immediately cut back in behind the Police car and set off at speed behind him as the traffic parted to let them pass. No idea how far he got but I did see various vehicles give him a near miss as they pulled back out. I'm also rather hoping he got a ticket. The favourite culprit to blame for selfish and aggressive behaviour is big German cars owners, but the reality is there are twattish and selfish drivers everywhere.
  10. Either lift a floorboard and sweep it under or throw a rug over it. Scatter cushions work well in living room and bedrooms.
  11. You learn something new, I didn't think they did outside of the UK.
  12. Mine are JJI's to get the span, they're 225 with 75x40 chords top and bottom. 9x2" would be more than sufficient but you can't get much above 5.4M, the silly thing is the existing are 3" x1.5". This is just the ceiling in the bedsit. The conversion has 3 new floors to go in so I'll probably hit £4k easily........I have a medical booked for shortly after delivery. That's because they're Prima Donnas, the only brushes they have are for either make up, or hair.
  13. Scaffolders......When Darwin wrote the 'Evolution of the Species' he was able to make the link between the ape and man because he'd had some scaffolding put up then some plumbing work done. Next time they come just look at their knuckles and look for the drag marks. To be honest I wouldn't expect any sort of customer interaction with them, although it is a skilled job it is a hard Labour one and only a certain type of person can stick at it for years, and they generally don't have time for chit chat. Finishing at 4pm on a Friday for them is unheard of, as the pubs are open from midday now this is where most can be found. So in the name of 'oneupmanship' I'll take your scaffold and raise you with 9.....yes 9 ceiling joists....admittedly 6.3M long...delivered today with a total cost of £527.99p.........it took an hour to bring me around full....£58 each...I need another lie down.
  14. 10/10.........which is better than I got on Popmaster this morning.
  15. Slightly off topic. I don't like using the PM's salary as a good point of ref. Just as an example the Chief exec of Central Beds unitary authority gets 50% more than the PM. Public sector pay has never been a good yardstick to measure by. Back on topic. For the recent performance of the company I think it is a ridiculous salary, they're using debt to pay themselves.
  16. ^^^^ And yet I've never had a problem with them either sending or receiving (3 parcels a week on average). I have had DHL falsify a signature and leave a very expensive parcel in the open on the doorstep which they denied until I suggested I would send the cctv footage. There's good and bad in everything.
  17. For those with their own bits of glass it's very easy to chamfer the edges. Just use an oilstone run along the edge at 45 degrees and it will take the sharp edge off. Obviously make sure your hand and fingers are well away from the glass edge and preferably wear a pair of heavy gloves.
  18. What Tariffs ? Hornby is made in the Far East and already subject to Tariffs entering the EU. You have rather contradicted yourself with your second sentence, they have appointed 2 people, both from the industry but then you go on to criticise SK. I don't think you can blame SK for every ill that Hornby have suffered, he was at the time part of a company structure with decisions ultimately being made by others. I think Hornby have the best chance they've had for a few years to improve and so long as they start making some pre-grouping GN stock I'll be happy................well you have to have hope...
  19. It's not as aggressive as Mek so I rub a card nail file over the surfaces first to rough them up, don't have any issues after doing that.
  20. I'd rather hope that isn't a dig at my comment. I genuinely have no preference either way, both sides of the argument have good and bad points and lied. I also see no point in having high blood pressure over a decision I can't change. Back on topic. As a shareholder the price isn't gone through any earth shattering changes trading at 32p this morning. for the last 6(?) months it's been between 30-33p
  21. It would still be me doing the work as his arm would be the one blocking the live pipe. The bit I hate is hanging upside down to do the work then watching your phone fall out of your top pocket and into a 'soft' landing.
  22. I always find it funny that some see replies as some kind of battle, whereas I see them as different experiences.
  23. That says maximum load 150kgs.......thats surely most on this forum stopped from using it..
  24. You only need to vent one of the soil pipes direct to air on the one furthest from a manhole and could use an AAV on the other. An alternative is to vent them through ridge vents and use a mix of flexible and rectangular ducting up the rafters. they aren't carrying anything but fumes, so there are plenty of products available. If you do use a mix then I'd tape the joints for good measure. The ridge vents have the advantage that there's always a small void of space below the ridge to make a joint between vent & pipe. My job in the next day or so is to form the 'flaunch' within a live manhole with a vets at the head of the soil pipe........lovely.....
