Ade's 7mm layout: Malmesbury station
gismorail replied to Adrian Stevenson's topic in 7mm+ modelling
I enjoy looking at old railway maps it’s interesting to see what used to be rail connected. I often see old track beds from the cab of my wagon , (which you don’t notice from a car) as I travel around the countryside and it’s fun to check them at later on with a map. As my favourite line is the Cheshire Lines I’ve always got a map in the cab which doubles up when I need a good cup of coffee -
I would agree with Perez fears regarding the track and the real possibility of some serious accidents due to the nature of the blind corners . What amazes me is the fact we know that the track has only just been finished and straight away it is hosting a major Grandprix so where has the proving of the safety case for the suitability of the track been done. I get the feeling that money is being put before the safeguarding of drivers lives in this current situation. We all enjoy an exciting race but not at the cost of serious injuries to drivers

West Kirby Town: narrow gauge is coming to town.

Hi Rod I think a thinner wire will be the way to go as it will give more flexibility. I say this as I have used the megacontrol system with servo’s on my 7mm layout in the past and it reduces the resistance that you are having with a thicker wire. -
Good to see some visiting Loco action on Ramchester. Think that special has come the long way round fromPreston need a sleeping car Interesting you comments about the couplings as I’ve been following his development and they do look good

Like others Mike my thoughts and prayers are with you at this very sad time. Just goes to show that we could be called to the great railway room in the sky at any time. Take care of yourself

Yes I think the sermons would contain word like Fire and Brimstone

You are quite correct but is it the sort of publicity that puts the product in the right right sort of light in this PC world we live in.

Just watched your latest couple of videos Andy most enjoyable the whole scene is coming together really well. Great tip to tap the track to get the ballast to settle ……defo top tip of the month Mr P

One does wonder what the Sponsors of Red Bull feel about the way the team are continually winge winge winge …….as it’s not exactly a very sporting way to behave which cannot be good for their Brand Name
-
The question has to be asked that following the Silverstone incident there was intense scrutiny about the positioning of Lewis’s steering wheel as he approached the corner where MV crashed ….yet the same doesn’t seem to be noted with MV steering wheel in this latest incident in which the new footage clearly show he never intended to make the corner correctly.

It sure does spice up the Championship and although I'm a Lewis fan mainly because he's British he does conduct himself in the manner befitting a 7 times world champion. I don't know if anyone else picked up the uneasy body language displayed by RB's Adrian Newey during the winners podium event, the TV camera's at one point zoomed in on him and I thought at the time he looked very 'uneasy' so one does wonder as to whether all is well within the RB camp.

Never mind travelling fast you don’t hang about with the ballasting once you get started Mr Peters
-
Bet the driver’s looking for Rocket Sticks
-
Just had a vision of you striding around the park in Trackies and Trainers (ascouse term) collecting bundles of rocket sticks
-
What a cracking idea Mr Peter’s Miss Tromburgh or what ever she call’s herself will be thrilled about your environmental awareness not only have you saved money but with the burn marks there are ready weathered .
-
Sounds like an interesting concept to produce these coupling and I hope that your idea becomes a marketable idea. I would ask as to whether there is any copyright issues in taking on a modified Dingham type of coupling especially if the GOG are looking to purchase the business from the original owner. Do you think any legal action might be taken or is the range now considered discontinued.

Agree with your comments Andy especially ref the 7mm section it’s gone very quite since you sold SMS and Bench Road for some reason it just goes to show that there is an urgent need for you to build another 7mm layout perhaps on shelf above Bute Road just to keep you hand in as it were Really enjoyed video 29 and even starting to like those funny multi coloured rakes of coaches with bus engines strapped underneath them
-
And that’s Andy’s Christmas Stocking filled up
-
Not too poor for a couple of the Accurascale Class 37s I hope especially the green heritage one for rail tour duties
