  1. And the N-DM Power Cars Colours Match the Hornby 2020 APT-P Below Formations I came across these to, I wonder if these variants were ever planned for Real to... Obviously they were much longer in length, I do wonder if these would have been the final release of the Ex-TU Full Rake of what may of been but all None Tilt due to the wheel sets like the New MK5's would have been, before the MK4 Coaches came along we have today along with the Class 91 & MK4 DVT Car. Regards
  2. Hi All I do hope Hornby match the colours more correctly on the Next 2020 APT-P Release... Regards Jamie
  3. Hi Paul & Pylon King I have this one if this helps that I had taken after the M54 and on the A5 heading back toward North Wales heading back home its just before the Roundabout where the A5 (CROSSES OVER) the B4580 to Oswestry (LEFT on the Roundabout) and the A495 toward Whitchurch (RIGHT on the Roundabout) It's the only one I can see of this type. I also have one on the same stretch of the M74 with a man in a basket doing maintenance on the Pylon which you don't seem to see that often. I do have many more Pylons from many places, I like the Cat Ears Type which I saw on the M74 going towards Scotland and I was with you Paul going to Falkirk to the Bonnybridge MRC show we did Paul back in 2013/14'ish. Paul is a great friend of mine Pylon King and we go back a several years doing to do exhibitions together with a Club I used to be in up my way in North Wales. It was Paul that got me in to looking at the Pylons and I now find them interesting especially on a layout. Paul does try to escape from my attention and pretend he's never known me, haha but I knew I'd find you on this thread Paul as soon as I read the Thread Name. You cant get away from me that easy bud lol, Paul and me have great banter whenever we get together which isn't as often as I'd like, luckily for Paul really yay Thanks the Lord for that, l hear you say Paul lol...! Nice Modelling Pylon King... I've Add to follow the contents of this Thread as I can this type of Modelling on Layouts. I have a few of Sub Stations to and down in Felixstowe as they cross the Estuary of the River Stour and the River Orwell, and those were the highest I think I have every seen and Stood up right rather than Outwards, I have many of North Wales as that is my neck of the woods to, Id be Interested to know the Names of some if I slowly go through them lol Great Thread....
  4. Hi great northern Yes, I love to see B&W Photos they seem so have an atmosphere all of there own, Great photo. Regards Jamie
  5. Hi Tony We all started somewhere, I still have my old Smokey Joe, yet its not one I would choose to run today as my chose as moved on and advanced from just running one loco with a couple of wagons and a coach lol and now.... we have some much to chose from today to start us off. On Price basis, I'm just glad I started a long time ago lol, although saying that it's expensive for all of us in the latest Catalogue releases, no matter how long we have been in the Modelling world. Regards Jamie
  6. Hi WestRail642fan Yes, I did notice only one pantograph I was surprised not to see another one at the other end of the 12-Car set but from the look of the coach there seem to be nothing outwardly visible to say it was the Power car apart from the Pantograph on the roof at the one end that is and those don't have the smaller mini Coach either do they... smart class of train though. Regards Jamie
  7. Maybe its an internal memo that's been put out instead... sounds like there target Bonus' Announcement for each of those months to each employee lol Can't help but think, what Targets have they achieved to deserve any Bonus lol Regards Jamie
  8. Haha... bigwordsmith... Thanks for clearing that up for me... and yeah nine yards, must be snug as rug with that much material... Is just over to you now then PhilH, you sure you don't want to share a secret with us all... it want go any further than me... but I can only speak for myself lol Regards Jamie
  9. Hi Roy That's very interesting you should say that, as I was watching on YouTube recently, and not sure if it as the new Class 755 I was watching, but the man on the blog was saying that because of how they are powered, not sure if that means from a central point or each bogies being powered individually was not clearly defined, but he did say notice how much lower down inside the coach was and noticed the floor and seating was to and he pointed out the doors on the outside as they opened were the same height as the each other, so no more need for an access ramp, which would enable Powered Scooters / wheelchairs and pushchairs to literally walk into the coach without the need of a ramp to enter the coach. He was saying this new Class of EMU/DMU may be the very first... Erm... what's the phrase I'm looking for here... like... the first disables friendly access coach made but he didn't say those words, it was worded more PC than that, like more of an ergonomically friendly coach, is that's the word and went on to say I wonder if these are the start of things to come out in the future on the railway network. I'm trying to find the clip to see how he worded it... But they are literately hardly no gap or step between platform and train entrance. Which kind of makes sense with what you have said about the move towards driving motor coaches, is this to allow lower floors for easier access. Regards Jamie
  10. Hi PhilH I was like... that's funny and then it turned to.... eh, How do you know skirts a bit draughty... Hmmm I'm curios by nature, but I can't help but think now you say that... Do you have some experiences you would like to get off your chest and out in to the open haha lol and share with us all, after all... a problem shared, is a problem halved, as they say... this is a nice private place where no one will say nothing lol its just banter between friends lol With regards to your comment though, I can't say that is information I've ever known myself personally... but than, I'm not a Scotsman lol Regard Jamie
  11. Hi Johnks Is the R3948, BR, Class 370 Advanced Passenger Train Non-Driving Motor (NDM), 49004, Is this just an Extra Powered Coach that can be added and add a DCC Fitted Decoder inside to make the APT-P rake a Dual Powered set of NDM Coach to add to the Centre of the APT-P Rake, If I buy the 5-Car Set or the 7-Car Set...? I take it, that both of the NDM Coaches, One from the 5 or 7-Car Pack and the Extra R3949 NDM Coach, I'd buy, would both need Decoders inside for them to run effectively together, I take it that the Powered Cars aka NDM Coach whether that be one in the 5 or 7-Car Set have Motors inside which are DCC Ready...? I would also understand that bother NDM Coaches would need Decodes Fitted to make the APT-P run as it should, there is No None Powered NDM Coach that runs as a Dummy so to speak, is that correct to...? Just so I understand what I am buying really or need in my own rake. Thanks for the Information, much appropriated. Regards Jamie Regards Jamie
  12. Hi Jon020 Are you looking for the Needle to move on the fuel tank....? That's a great idea if you can achieve that attention to detail. Regards Jamie
  13. Hi BigJim It's looking good and making progress... I look forward to seeing more of your lift out section into the room...!?! and how you choose to do it. I also noticed your Loco Cabinets on the walls to, they look nice and good to look at, where did you get those from and do you have the details of those that sell them...? Regards Jamie
  14. Hi PhilH Are you Scotsman then....? I thought only the Scottish folk did that type of thing lol haha Regards Jamie
  15. Hi great northern I love the track weathering, it looks absolutely superb, and makes the layout look so realistic. Adding the Sky also helps the realism. Great photo...! Regards Jamie
  16. Hi Markwj Yes, I have Pre-Ordered to and ordered more than I want at this point but as the information comes through over times or the coming months on what each pack as etc, I may down size my order to suit what I want nearer the time. Yes, I would recommend to Pre-Order the APT-P so not to be disappointed because you are a pack short and have sold out etc.! Regards Jamie
  17. Hi Roy Langridge Nice, those Class 745's are 12-Car Sets then and the Class 755's are 5-Car Sets, is that the only difference between the two Classes of 745/755...? Still look smart, hope they sort out the issues, I guess like all new product, have there problems. I noticed the Pantograph on the Centre Power Car but are they Dual Powered to or even Triple Powered with Pantograph, Diesel and Third Rail...? I also notice that every Two Coaches share the same Bogie, like the APT-P in part and the Euro Train I guess... Regard Jamie
  18. Hi Roy Langridge Haha... so the same issues as the APT-P had then, you obviously know them better, I'm not in that neck of the woods so I only get to see a working Rake on YouTube haha... so that's why I don't know what issues they are having with them and I'll look in to the Class 745's I didn't know about those ones. I notice the 12-Car Sets don't have a Centre Power Car, but the pantograph is on the second coach in, and no pantograph on the other end of the rake like the Pendolino's have. I also noticed only One Set of Double Doors per coach in the Centre, rather than Doors at each end of the Coach like most tend to have. They still look nice just like the APT-P did, regardless of the issues they are experiencing with them, Deja Vu all over again then...! Is it the APT-P Look alike Bogies they have the issues with then... or some other running issues. I just thought APT-P look alike in part soon as I saw it. Regards Jamie
  19. Hi RoyLangridge Yes, I've sure Jack & Dave on Hatton's Live Stream every Friday at 1PM GMT, will have that information as and when details get released by Hornby, they will have it in the live stream as subject to talk about. Regards Jamie
  20. Hi Colin That's a great Idea...Colin, I actually watch Jack & Dave on YouTube's Hatton's Live Stream every Friday at 1pm GMT, they have all the latest releases on the table in front of them that have been released for that week, along with any news that as been released by manufactures so as and when the Hornby APT-P arrives in Store, I'm sure Jack & Dave will be opening ever APT-P Pack to show us all just how good it is, and sometime, they'll say... this item as Now Sold out on Pre-Order..., Why god, WHY...! lol So I have Pre-Ordered it, to try and prevent that from happening or being disappointed, unless Hornby release a Second Batch but that's normally known information until several weeks or months later. Regards Jamie
  21. Hi RoyLangridge I must admit, have you not seen the new Class 755 Sets, I saw them on YouTube and I must say they look real smart. There is a definite hint of a Modern APT Power Car Look to it and it just so happens to be in the Centre of the Rake, I would call it a 4.5 Coach Set personally, Search for 'Class 755' in your Search Engine for it and you will see why I say 4.5 Coach Set, with it's Half sized Non-Passenger Power Coach in the Centre and then Two Passenger Units either side of the Centre Power Car, I was kind of impressed when I first saw them... they are the New Greater Anglia Train Sets.... very smart indeed. Regards Jamie
  22. Brilliant and so true of business today... Where would we be without Dave and without Dave, the job would never get done... Regards Jamie
  23. Hi JeffP I feel your pain, and how ones like you can be a teacher today with kids attitudes and all the rights they have, I don't know You copes personally. Regarding that same attached note... The building site is just the same with that word H&S and for the younger generation that Health & Safety, they come on to the building site unannounced and watch you. Like you say with no one to say who they are, and watch you do your job as a craftsman would do to the best of your ability. H&S would say, " I'm not here to tell you how to do your job, I'm here to see that you have done the job properly "... eh... WHAT...! The Craftsman as done minimum 3 years at best or more like 5 to 7 years as apprenticeship to learn the skills they need to be a true craftsmanship and H&S stand there like they know how to do a Dove Tail Joint, yet... I bet you if you ask them what joint is that, they wouldn't have a clue and that's why I totally understand you, with all the standards we have today for what.... to create new unwanted jobs out of thin air and these companies make tons of money from it to, its sickening. It is Health & Safety as and when it suits..., is what the craftsman would say about it all, and I totally agree. Regards Jamie
