  1. With my money back on the previous lot, which all I really wanted was the Craftsman Lord Nelson (and more to still move on) I have now got a Slaters 7mm Pug 0-4-0 complete with wheels, motor etc for £160 which seems a good deal when new its £275. Possibly one to build and then sell on.
  2. Just for clarity sadly the pub down the hill from the station at Highley - 'The Ship' there was a fire there on the 21st of July and at present it is still shut. If you are thinking of going down the hill at gala it would be recommended to check their Facebook page on the day, just in case they have reopened by then.
  3. Its so short it might as well be a bridge ! that's why most of us do not whistle - the only thing on my first driving test I was picked up on , lol
  4. As a historical note the town lost the e in about the late 19th century. In fairness after the footbridge there is still a little walk to high town.
  5. View Advert Westward Models GWR Saint 4-6-0 This is a Westward Models GWR Saint 4-6-0 - what you see in the photos is what comes with this lot. It enables the builder to make either a curved or straight drop front extension. This is sale is only for the loco as no tender was with it. Please note this is not in an original box. There are no instructions, however looking at assembly should be fairly logical and looks self evident. If you have any questions, please feel free to ask Advertiser Blandford1969 Date 23/08/22 Price £40 Category OO / 4mm scale
  6. I'd agree on the baby's timetable, however having pushed my two up and down from High town to the station and back, (for me) it was not too bad (as a town resident) High town also has wonderful food that will eat you to a standstill at The Old Castle. They also keep a very good pint. For your other half Bridgnorth has some great small shops - such as 'Wild Heart' on Listley Street - my wife loves the clothes in there generally Italian but at really good prices.
  7. For breakfast AJ's just round the corner from the station and ironically under the SVR offices is great food at a great price. 2857 should not be too heavily loaded being a home fleet engine, albeit its last gala before withdrawal . Not sure on the 5 as to how much that will be a pull, we have not had one for a good few years since 5110 went out of traffic (from memory). The Engine House is worth a visit at Highley as you can watch trains go by. Not sure what the food is like now it is not upstairs. Downsides baby changing is not great and food on the railway can be expensive. The pub at Bridgnorth serves great beer and the cake in the restaurant is very good. Hagley Hall is likely to be heavily loaded being the first gala since coming back into traffic - it is now painted and is being shunted out of the TMD this morning. Not sure how heavily loaded the suggested Terrier might be, but would expect that on locals. At least being Thursday you will be much less likely to come into contact with the more pungent visitors which is more a trait of the tail end of the weekend.
  8. It may be, but it still goes well, does not have as much movement in the boxes which some have and is still a pocket rocket. Sadly her ashpan really should have a sound track of 'I'm a twisted fire starter' at the moment. Lets hope for wetter weather. One of the easiest engines to prep and dispose and a pleasure to drive. Just hotter than a normal pannier! The model looks outstanding too.
  9. Hi Mike, Have you made an progress on the unusual Gresley shaped tender with some D20's you had hinted to having found a drawing. Thanks in advance Duncan
  10. That one looks more like a photo of a model
  11. You really have to work on the basis the images are not coming back. Much as that is sad hassling for an update when there is not is a time killer for Andy.
  12. Fab work as ever Steve. Its interesting that the S&D has standard chimneys whereas that at West Moors had the oddest top to a chimney.
  13. Thanks, do you still have the instructions by any chance? - By the way I don't like the tube boilers, they are a pain to solder so prefer to roll my own.
  14. Don't worry I have the same view of some of them. My past place did not do things correctly and that was the HRD even getting my notice period wrong by 3 months. Long story short I got an extra 6 months out of them. It has also had a massive impact on my mojo and anxiety and depression over the last few years. As for court my honest opinion is only the lawyers win. You get months of stress you might win, you might not but it can be found out by future employers. Better to just get as much money out of them before you leave.
  15. When I worked at a Brewery the Union rep and myself had 'boiler room' chats where we would discuss any case off the record between us and always ended up agreeing between us on where it should probably fairly end up. Then we just made sure fair play happened. The did sometimes mean the management did not get the result they hoped for.
  16. Hi I may well have a set of instructions. I'm away till the weekend, but will have a look when home at the end of the weekend
  17. HR are used often as the fall guy or excuse. In my last job one Branch Manager would sack someone who complained and when asked why they said said person had said HR had told them so even though I had never been spoken to. In the previous job one of the Directors said they wanted person X sacking - my telling them in the way they wanted was not legal resulted in shouting, stamping of fists and feet and a degree of swearing. Please do not put all HR in the same boat. Many of us have scruples and are quoted when it is an excuse by poor management. Having said that I have also encountered some who who are totally untrustworthy and would sell their own granny if they thought it would get them further.
  18. A daft question. How do you go about continuity and short circuits?
  19. They are slowly catching up going from no spares to having spares done for each kit. In fairness they are making progress,
  20. Thanks emailed and sending the cheque off tomorrow, all very exciting.
  21. Do you have any contact details to get one of them please?
  22. Sorry for the off topic - have any of you got a set of instructions for the 8F - I have a full kit but no instructions.
  23. So you mean the IR band is damaged, not a nice job, but rare for them to leak.
