  1. I too received an email from Hornby this morning stating that they couldn't repair my Class 31 (31270) and that they would give me a £100 voucher for use on their website. Having had a quick look, there is nothing of interest at the moment but hopefully that may change but given the recent cancellations I am sceptical. Somewhat disappointed as my model had been professionally weathered and renumbered; the additional cost of which is not really covered by the voucher. With 3 other Class 31s in my collection I am worried that I may have wasted a lot of money. As Farish now do a Class 31, perhaps an upscale by Bachmann could be a step forward or maybe SLW could do one with all the 'bells and whistles'?
  2. Have a look at the Bachmann Collectors Club website or just Google it. Did try and post a link but it wouldn't work.
  3. Nice to see a Class 50 at Bristol Parkway yesterday evening. 'Rodney' in the company of 56303 on its way for an overhaul hopefully. It looked in need of some much needed care and attention.

  6. During the 80s, the 1018 (SO) Scarborough - Newcastle during the summer holidays. Nearly always a Class 37. I remember also getting 37191 'International Youth Year 1985' resplendent in Large Logo livery from Scarborough to York on a Sca - Glasgow Queen St service. The other Class 37 on the Deltic Silver Jubilee was 37001.
  7. 43026 now named 'Michael Eavis'. Seen last night with plates covered up at Paddington, plates on display today.

Shouldn't there be another plaque showing a pair of wellies and a n electric guitar, plus a photo of John Redrup? #deadringers

  10. 20 minutes at York. Class 56 in Holgate Sidings, Class 47 running through with a 2 coach Pullman rake and a pair of 20s in the loco sidings. Happy memories of 1986. :)

  11. I believe the D369 version is DCC Ready. Therefore will run on DC.
  12. Could this be a case of bidding without actually reading the whole listing? If not then I am puzzled! http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/380560004156?ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1423.l2649
  13. Hi Industrial, how did you find that info? Just noticed the numerous £1 increments that the under-bidder has placed.
  14. £21.01 - I think someone has got a little bit over excited with this Hornby Railroad crane: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/200877740233?ssPageName=STRK:MEBIDX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1426.l2649
  15. Wow, did this really happen? http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/290603293429?ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1423.l2649 Over £110 inc P&P for a just released Modelzone Mk1 BG in RTC livery!!!!! Interesting to see what the others currently on EBay sell for.
  16. Oops, I got the name of the magazine wrong!!!! Thanks for pointing it out!!!!
  17. I have personally dealt with the seller before and they were very good, very prompt and the item was immaculate. I don't doubt that they had the item for one second. I was certainly not questioning the sellers honesty but was amazed that some people still pay these prices despite the new model coming out. I paid slighlty more for my version in 2009 so was a bit miffed when Modelzone announced their new version!
  18. I have been watching an original Model Rail Baccy RTC Class 24 and was amazed to see that it went for £211 plus postage. I guess that news about the new Modelzone version which will sell for £71.99 hasn't filtered far and wide yet! Chris
  19. I fancy the Blue set although as a modeller of the ER around Yorkshire I might have to have an occasional Railtour from 'darn sarf' to justify! In fact what do I need to justify, I've just bought a 4-Cep 'cause I liked it. The very first loco I ever got was a Lima Class 33 which I then supplemented with the Lima 33027 'Earl Mountbatten of Burma'. I think I might make my own but notice that there is scope for a grey-roofed version on the future list - would that include the 'Burmas' I wonder? Chris
  20. Chris The Bachmann site does mention the following: 'Five-part steel coil load with cradles compatible with BDA bogie bolster wagons' From that I summise that they are indeed removeable. It would save having to buy a rake of empties for the return working! Cheers, Chris
  21. The Bachmann website is showing an image of the new BAA steel coil carrier. Looks pretty good IMHO and I for one can't wait to obtain a few to model the Lackenby-Corby tubeliners that I so fondly remember passing through Holgate jct at York.
