  1. Sutton's have today announced additional examples of the Glasgow Works plated-front version but in un-numbered form (Cat No. 2409U).
  2. If anyone's interested - Bought this in WHSmith at Paddington on Friday and it came with the Train Formations bookazine that was released previously. However WHS in Maidenhead didn't have the free bookazine so guess it's just in limited locations?
  3. Hi Roy, 37001 still had black headcode panels in 1986. I have a photo of it at York on 05 July 86.
  4. A photo from Peterborough on 05 August 1986. An opportunity for a very short rake of BOC TEAs
  5. Is this deception? Seller shows in the first photo the new Bachmann Class 45 but the actual model for sale is the much older 45039. Bids are at £40.99! https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Bachman-Class-45-OO-Gauge/233219781375?hash=item364cfb72ff:g:fzYAAOSw7ttc0Vcd
  6. Fab, a skinhead Class 31/1. R3608 HST power cars lists 43001 and 43002. Please correct me if I am wrong here but AFAIK 43001 never existed in this form?
  7. Thanks Colin, my concern here is that if they find in his favour (there is absolutely no reason why they should; I have video evidence and photos) then I end up with some detrimental mark against my seller profile. Reluctantly, I think I will chalk it up to experience. Although if he doesn't respond to my message then I might just escalate.
  8. Also a new seller to ebay and have sold 13 items but have just had my first wake up call and am looking for some advice. Sold a Bachmann loco with DCC Sound; it worked perfectly as I tested it fully before I sent it. The Buyer contacted me this week to say that it doesn't work and that he was very disappointed. I apologized profusely and asked him to return the loco for a full refund, which he did. Got the loco back yesterday and guess what; it works perfectly. Sound and running are all fine and as I described. Now i get it back in a ripped box with some of the cab glazing now knocked out. I am thinking of disputing his reasons for return but just reckon I'll get shafted anyway so reckon I should just refund him and then block him. Is it actually worth the hassle of disputing this? Many thanks, Chris
  9. Have a look on Flickr or Google. I'm sure there are lots to find yourself. https://flic.kr/p/nW14tf
  10. C, D, F and H. H was hopefully to influence a future headcode variant that could fit the later years in the Midlands. C 'cause it's blue but Scottish variants are a push for me to justify having just changed my layout to fit a late 70s Midlands scene. D so I can replace my Baccy versions of 97201 (both of them!) and F for a bit of Green.
  11. Good luck with the show. If I recall correctly, the Scarborough Model Railway club has held its show in Pickering in the past. Not far from the NYMR station, although it has been a couple of years since I visited.
  12. This is actually one manufacturer's announcement that I am genuinely excited about. Anything blue with TOPS numbers will be fine by me
  13. I know, and I have that one. My question was about 24063 and which of the others (not including 24081) could it be renumbered to!
  14. Yes of course it was but it already exists in model form.
  15. Thanks IKB, that is most useful and very comprehensive. Much obliged for your help.
  16. According to DerbySulzers, the following non headcode box examples were still active in 1977: 24023 24035 24036 24047 24057 24073 24082 24087 24091 Forgive me if this has been asked earlier in this thread but would any of these be a direct renumber from 24063 as the model is depicted? I would consider getting another example of 63 to complement the version I have if a simple renumber is possible. Grateful for any advice. Many thanks.
  17. 'Wined and dined'????? At Warley last year I got a free bottle of water. Did I miss out on the foie gras and quail eggs then?

  19. Just watched 'To the Manor Born' on the Yesterday channel and noticed that at a scene at the local station the TV channel had blurred out an old Jimmy Saville British Rail poster!

I noticed that too...I put it down to watching on an Android TV box here in Canada. Didn't think about that it might be one of his posters.

Abhorrent though he was, that kind of thing smacks very much indeed of the way history and events were re-written in Orwell's '1984'. Hitler did far, far worse, yet you see his image on TV everywhere, in films and documentaries etc. Are we not grown up enough to put all that in context for ourselves?
