  1. caley pug's were used on the CHPR (not kit bashed either).
  2. This gorgeous loco was out and about at the MRC this weekend. 19 years it's been out of traffic. Next livery for the Hornby Peckett anyone?
  3. Forgot to add, it was a 4w same as the Hornby model
  4. First one (10001) delivered 21/3/59 to Dorman Long Lackenby Steel works
  5. Both 9622 (and Rosyth) are now at the the Pontypool and Blaenavon Railway. Rosyth has just been returned to service following overhaul - 9622 will started on soon.
  6. There are some real crackers on there, can't wait to see the next one from Marc and does anything want a cameo more than this! http://www.flickr.com/photos/12a_kingmoor_klickr/5759342935/in/photolist-9NPofy-dMwimK-9NLzmi-a5HAsn-9f9LRL-9f9M1U-9bssdb-dXMv9L-dXG3dB-dXFNYe-dXMJjb-a5HAGv-9LW9bF-9MGBAG-9MDNjP-9MGz33-9MDLvP-9MDM9R-9MGBm9-9MDP7F-9MDMEr-9MGAdd-9MDMwi-9MDMmx-9MGAQL-9MGBSq-9MDMP2-9MDPEa-9MGAwY-9MDMWr-9MDNYi-9MGyKs-9MGAG3-9MDLR4-9MDPr2-a5Hfha-9LW918-9ezZr4-m4RLqk-m4RdKZ-bxjSxn-j2RxPN-8vzBKT-9hr7Xi-9NPnGd-9VDKhE-9VDJoA-9gcutq-9g9kDc-9gctFj-9g9mzM/ regards Alistair
  7. here's a cracking bit of inspiration for you, love the huts http://www.flickr.com/photos/63255278@N08/5780658076/in/photolist-9NPofy-dMwimK-9NLzmi-a5HAsn-9f9LRL-9f9M1U-9bssdb-dXMv9L-dXG3dB-dXFNYe-dXMJjb-a5HAGv-9LW9bF-9MGBAG-9MDNjP-9MGz33-9MDLvP-9MDM9R-9MGBm9-9MDP7F-9MDMEr-9MGAdd-9MDMwi-9MDMmx-9MGAQL-9MGBSq-9MDMP2-9MDPEa-9MGAwY-9MDMWr-9MDNYi-9MGyKs-9MGAG3-9MDLR4-9MDPr2-a5Hfha-9LW918-9ezZr4-m4RLqk-m4RdKZ-bxjSxn-j2RxPN-8vzBKT-9hr7Xi-9NPnGd-9VDKhE-9VDJoA-9gcutq-9g9kDc-9gctFj-9g9mzM
  8. I wish this was at the back of my house
  9. The tank traffic went because the wagons were life expired and there was no money to replace them. If it had been a new traffic flow then a section 8 grant would have covered it, but there is no such facility for existing traffic flows. Go figure! regards Alistair
  10. And that isn't all of them! You can just make out the blue brick bridge through the trees which carried a tram line and road from the mine to a wharf on the canal and beyond that is the entrance to the Netherton tunnel, you can also make out the bridge abutments of the GWR line better in this picture http://aligrieve.smugmug.com/Landscapesandplaces-1/Cobs/18643602_RRrJ6t#!i=1440993611&k=gbVczDn&lb=1&s=A and in this one you can see the road bridge that ran behind the roving bridge on the right! http://aligrieve.smugmug.com/Landscapesandplaces-1/Cobs/18643602_RRrJ6t#!i=1440993899&k=7npGxCg Mister loud voice pointy finger is now on the verge of exploding.
  11. Here you go - Bumble Hole, Dudley, plenty of roving bridges here, that in back ground is Cob's Engine house oh and the GWR ran from left to right on a bridge just in front of the one at the back! http://aligrieve.smugmug.com/Landscapesandplaces-1/Cobs/18643602_RRrJ6t#!i=1440993875&k=9p8zsB7&lb=1&s=A It was the line from Dudley to Old Hill and Windmill End Halt was to the right of the picture the other side of the right hand bridge. There's a good volunteer run visitors centre here with a 3d model which shows what a hive of activity it was. Railways, collieries, tram lines, canals, steel works etc and now a nature reserve! http://www.dudley.gov.uk/leisure-and-culture/parks-and-open-spaces/liveability/bumble-hole-and-warrens-hall-local-nature-res/ Here's another shot showing the engine house, on the right is the spoil heap from Warrens hall colliery, behind me the canal and the otherside of that was the railway and Windmill End Halt.
  12. And I thought you were going to fit double glazing and make it an MSC Toad http://glostransporthistory.visit-gloucestershire.co.uk/images/RR_NWM_MSC%20Toad%20GRCW.jpg Back onto the NCB and Chasewater have a littleton one - http://www.aligrieve.fotopic.net/p46078184.html AliG
  13. One of the Scunthorpe 48DS's is indeed preserved 200793 - Went to Swansea Vale and is now at the Pontypool and Blaenavon Railway http://www.aligrieve.fotopic.net/p44029927.html
  14. thanks for the photo's and kind words Marc (cheques in the post ) the driver for a fiver was very popular so we'll be aiming to do it again although we haven't quite worked out how we fit it in yet as the section of track used will become part of the Big Pit branch. Mind you imagine a 37 standing here with the pit in the back ground B) http://www.aligrieve.fotopic.net/p67628844.html regards Alistair ps nice phots
  15. "You could always pin a sheet of tracing paper across the front of the layout, from the pelmet to the base board !" thin tracing paper for everywhere else, extra thick for Blaenavon Sometimes it's more low cloud than mist! regards Alistair PS - hope you had a good time
  16. Couldn't help noticing the tag line at the bottom of Rogers reply "oh the mists of Blaenavon.." this was Blaenavon Saturday Morning http://www.aligrieve.fotopic.net/p67628824.html How much mist did you want Cheers Alistair
