  1. Probably the crash when they let the handbrake off and it fell down into the clouds!
  2. Most likely at Dawlish the sound of water sloshing and the main drive fuse going BANG……and then silence.
  3. I have noticed that Track Magic smells very much like a lighter fluid or some such, but it is more viscous.
  4. There is no choice apart from “don’t buy it” or build it yourself and hope your good enough to get the finished article better….hmmm…..I have all the Heljan 7mm diesels but don’t actually model 7mm anymore, but after buying them and fitting sound and weathering I am loath to sell them on.
  5. That’s the one I use, just as it is but as you say it needs a big Loco to haul it, I usually use it dry but occasionally soak some Track Magic into the pad which then picks up much more “black grime” but I have certainly NEVER experienced the slipping issue after using Track Magic.
  6. Of course, I’d forgotten completely about that, learnt it while in the ATC…..a while ago, so forgive me
  7. Commercial watermarks which are almost impossible to remove without destroying the data can be embedded into images if required.
  8. It depends what programmes you use to reproduce/edit the original or a copy with, some can lose all Meta Data completely.
  9. Not with the tank to footplate gap in that pic.
  10. My next door neighbour is coxswain of our local boat, and the weathers and conditions at all times of the day and night beggar belief, all volunteers, all locals, all ordinary people who are truly extraordinary heroes*. *they would never call themselves that either.
  11. You old cynic, you mean it might have all been orchestrated for nefarious means?
  12. There you go, that’s the bit………it will certainly be an interesting few weeks now.
  13. There is no denying there are very strong feelings in the party about this. Just like the RMWeb thread?
  14. The Company’s site I started working at in 1977 was not in a built up area and had a long system of roadways to the car parks from the security gates, and there were “aladdin’s lamps” along all the roadways, when it got foggy and the poor old security staff had to go out and light each one, they lasted until about 2000 or so as I recall. They work very well actually as the heat given off by each one tends to eliminate the cold damp air around each one, better than electric lamps.
  15. And that’s the bit that the press and others purposely forget when quoting for effect.
  16. Pretty sure “Doris” or Mr Stammer has said neither, unlike the majority of the travel and leisure industries.
  17. Not only can they not speak the language………
  18. Well I lived in a small place called London at the time
  19. Blimey, you were lucky……back in the 60’s when it was smog we had to walk to and from school in a caterpillar line, was so thick you couldn’t see more than the kid in front…….never got to go home early
  20. Exactly…..looking at some compromises made on actual running models, they did it correctly really.
