King sounds like dirty wheels / pickups
72xx sounds like something shorted when the body was refitted.
WD sounds like the body is pressing down on the decoder.
Seen all of these many times, eventually you get a feel for them and solve them before you refit everything ! (mostly)

Fantastic work

November through Liverpool docks - but you will get better answers if you ask in the forum.

Yes, Widnes Vine Yard (but then I'm bias)

Good luck with your restoration / recreation work

Dave,
Not wishing to spoil bonfires, but the LNWR used miniature arms for yard entry.

Nice job there CK

For a variety of reasons this has not progressed however after some successful baseboard construction yesterday which makes this part (the bit I hate most) a lot easier (see here) my interest has been rekindled but possibly in a smaller scale (literally ! - N gauge) - don't hold any breath just yet though
-
I was at Knottingley a couple of weeks back and it still looks to be a suitable basis for a prototype - might be time to resurrect this idea when the dark nights return.

Follow the nearest prototype photos

Have you looked in the first edition of the Quail track plans book ?

Just added your blog to my Tracking list as it look rather interesting. Great to see Widnes in Blog format and I like the vids too. Odd seeing the Grand Central off territory though, I travel on it every day, but on the other side of the country
Regards
Paul

Never thought I'd hear myself saying this about C/L signals, but..... love the signals! And thats from a confirmed semaphore-o-file!
Excellent work fellas
JF
Cheers.
Not sure if you are aware Jon but the signals are based on Chester ones - the plain signals are modified versions of the up end platform starters, CR72 / 76 etc. and the bracket is again a modified version of platform 7 / down through at the down (No.3A) end - CR93 / 95
The layout is assembled up in the hills outside Mold if you want to visit btw.
I spent a happy time in Chester No.5 with "Big Cyril", Chester No.6 with "Pete" and No.3A / No.4 with people who I can't remember now sadly - got a full set of photos of No.5 including all the signals B)

There's a hell of a lot going on in that first picture, great place to go spotting... I know its been said numerous times but this is a great looking layout and although I have never seen it in the flesh its rated as one of the best in my eyes. I like the look of the the new Dapol fleet too.
cheers
Scott
lol = some of the GBRF renumberings are lurking in the background - thanks for the kind words.

Beast66606 wrote - "then decision time, 00, EM or P4"
I think the F in WFRM gives you the answer to that one Dave! B)
Cheers
Jim
OO it is then - decision 99.9% to be P4 now, Mike T is redrawing the plan with 1:8 p & c and then - to the credit card ! B)
