  1. Gosh, RM web looks so different on a modern browser!

  2. nevard_110522_planet_DSC_2188_web, originally uploaded by nevardmedia. The Roxey Mouldings Planet 0-4-0 Diesel has now been painted and is ready for weathering and glazing. There is plenty of scope really to go to town with rust spots and patched up paintwork. The nameplate from Narrow Planet is possibly a little large, but there again it's a very small loco. My excuse is that it is second hand! Named 'Fleur', here it is parked on the canal edge at Brewhouse Quay. Click here for a bigger view http://www.flickr.co...in/photostream/
  3. Spot on! I remember something like this happened when I was doing a Vi-Trains class 37 (my airbrush went splat). 3 minutes of panic with tissue and white spirit revealed something that was much better than I ever achieved before.
  4. That's rather good - the colouring is very nice too
  5. The ref on the New Zealand Rugby Union on KY Sports keep saying "N gauge"...

Curiously in TV broadcasting MAc was very big in the 1980's.

Now everything is PC based (well on the user end), and in it's defence

it never falls over. I'm increasingly in publishing so might as well follow

the MAC throng seeing mummy has said yes. The screens are paricularly good,

but they even makde rubbish look good which may or may not be a good thing

      when appraising images!

  8. It's omly when I saw the USB stick I realised this is 2mm/Ngauge - fabulous!
  9. I guess there's nothing stopping people from building the diorama for the competition to the maximum dimensions allowed, and then at a later stage adding a fiddle yard (if a suitable trackplan allows of course) after the judging - thus turning it into a working layout when the size no longer matters? Micro inglenook? I'm sadly not allow to enter this one
  10. Combwich will still be joined to Enginewood (via flying cassette) at RAILEX last time I looked - so you won't need to be disappointed. I will be if drop the cassette with one of CK's lovey engines though.. Planet; I'll check that out - there is one at Bury by all accounts, but decent views on the web are a little ellusive.
  11. It should be there, and it should look good as one of the loco exchanges for the Burrowbridge Light Railway workings B) Actually, maybe Borchester who will will be backing onto us at Railex might want to join in the fun...
  12. Nice and heavy and subtle use of the feedback controller should do it. I'm not into clever because I don't now how or have the time to care (I'm too busy building stuff).
  13. nevard_110516_planet_IMG_9904_web, originally uploaded by nevardmedia. Currently on the work bench, a Planet 0-4-0 Diesel from Roxey Mouldings. And here is the white metal kit after basic assembly. A little filling and cleaning up will be required before painting as well as some extra details. The body is just sitting on the chassis, and will be screwed properly into place once painted. It sits on a Tenshodo WB 24.5 'Spud' which makes it ideal entry to white metal loco construction because of the ready to whizz chassis. This is a small loco, length over buffers is just under 3 inches, and because of this ideal for Brewhouse Quay with its short sidings and tight curves. It will however be as just at home on some of my other industrial layouts. The plan is to paint in the same livery at my recent Austerity tank. I'll be naming this little loco 'Fleur' using plates from Narrow Planet.
  14. Hello little Planet and your Spud-u-like - you're such a sweetie. BLOG to follow at some stage....

I'm using what the lovely Mr Roxey sold me. It actually runs very well - weighs a ton - but needs too!

  15. I think it's time to pension off my 5 year old Vaio - I've owned many computers over the years and this one has never missed a beat. Sadly the USM ports are worn out and with a few more pixels in the pipleline something a little more manly will be required. Probably a another Vaio! A Mac would be nice but then none of my software would work, and anyway, I'm tight.

I run computers until they die. My desktop PC will be 10 next year, and my oldest laptop 9. Agree with you on Mac bores - although I've used Macs and don't have anything against them.

  16. This looks great fun and quite achievable (come on Kenton), and as Don B said, a great way to get the comfy chair brigade to replace the keyboard with glue, knife, paint etc. Of course if 12 volts can be fed into it even better because then you have a 'micro' .... (sorry, I've been desperate to use that emoticon).
  17. What fun! How long is the run, a scale mile?
  18. A nice arrival of barrels from Blackrat Breweries has just been added to by another 50 from some online model boat supplier - also in kernow.

  20. Some bolt on cutting sides and you could have your very own Stoke Summit? Maybe in your case 'Swag Bank'?
  21. Just enjoying your progress since I saw the layout in Jan last year - the quality of workmanship is fabulous. Good man using the dining room table B)
  22. Gosh, just 2 weeks away - you're right! You've reminded me that I need to replace most of the point motors before then - the Peco self latchings are mostly shot, so I'm going to replace with Seeps which I've found somewhat more positive in action over the years. At WYCRAIL I spent much of the time inserting thin card between the underside is the baseboard and the latching units to add a little friction in an attempt to keep switch blades up against st'ck rails. Hymek2 - you're keen! Thankfully Mr Cheeseplant and his posse have ensured that there's lots of much better stuff than Combwich to justify your journey. And I'm hoping that the South Devon Massive next door on Enginewood will be able to distract you when something breaks on Combwich (which is 30 now!). Western Stalwart, you're not too squeeky, so you're forgiven.
  23. That looks, for want of a better word, the BIZ!
