  4. have you got any pics of the 'zillertalbahn'? a friend of mine is modelling it and any you have would be great. thanks
  5. 142 pages of pure nostalgia. some really excellent pics. does anyone know if a kit is available for that maroon pannier 0-6-0 thats at the tanfield railway?
  6. Managed to get two from Peterborough smiffs. Good value really for spares. One will he kept on display until I need a boiler or tender body. That's what I've been using the majority of the collection for, spare boilers so I don't have to roll my own!!
  7. a couple of grids that spring to mind, one of the dreaded class members which haunted me was 56120, I remember seeing it on the biggleswade bricks and through whittlesea no end of times, one which was a fave was 56084. my dad had the mainline model and I rememeber watching it hammer through whitlesea on the wisbech deanside petfood train in loadhaul livery.(the only time I ever sawher 'in the flesh') I did phone the scrap yard she went to to buy a the cabside number, but alas it had already gone.
  8. this picture from hattons pre-owned section make me smile, gives new meaning to the phrase, 'selling fast'! www.ehattons.com/120388/Mainline_37429_LN_04_7_plank_coke_wagon_with_coal_rail_in_Carpenter_sons_ltd_livery_pre_owned_like/stockdetail.aspx
  9. I think it's the triang loco and tender drive tender. The tender also has the flangeless Middle wheel like hornbys did! Mine will be used to represent a loco during restoration.
  10. Half way through creating an inventory for my stock, 187 wagons and 65 coaches later and im still counting. my wifes got

Take photos of your locos and add them to your list. It helps tracking them if something unfortunate happens

  12. what year did reggie rail first appear on a tractor? I used to have a Bachmann one but sold it, after seeing some on here I may have to obtain one again.
  13. I have spent a very enjoyable couple of hours looking through this thread. some lovely images, especially all the colour steam. great stuff.
  14. I really hope someone hasn't claimed sarah Siddons as a limited edition, with special box to bump price up. May have to reconsider my preorder now.
  15. The NVR's Thomas is also the only one that doesn't need a license from the Americans who own the rights, as the Rev himself named it. The only clause with that is it isn't allowed a three dimensional face. Hence why it always carries the painted wooden one, which I think add more charm. I believe the picture above showing 1800 (Thomas) next to the tender was whilst it was still in service with British sugar, as the 'Peterborough railway society' as it was then did store standard 5 73050 at the BSC works for a while.
  16. It'll be a lovly looking loco in sure. The dcc ready price puts me off a little, being the same price as the Heljan Garrett , a bigger loco with two motors.
  17. Could you supply a alternate face to the smokebox. As wilbert appeared in the railway series books? Chris awdry wrote that book and continues to do so, so I suppose he must still have rights to the railway series books. Or is this effected by copyright/license? http://thomascharactergallery.tripod.com/id7.html
  18. Brilliant. I can't wait for the next one. There were so many links to the original. Examples Sea lab- inspiration from Atlantic inferno? Sea lab scientist. Dr meddings- Derek meddings. Original series model maker, designer of FireFlash. Dish reflecting Suns rays onto town, original series 'Lord parkers 'oliday. Alan's embarrassing talk with kayo in TB3- reference to Alan and TinTins relationship. Alan fixing satalite kayo says 'just like fixing the TV' original series reference operation crash dive. Alan fixes FireFlash TinTins states 'just like fixing a fuse' And brains' robot, like Breyman in original series. All in all I was impressed. My 4 year old loved it too. The only real niggle is do they really need Pete Dyneleys voice over at every craft launch.
  19. Where's the stingray cameo.? Havnt watched it yet but don't want to miss it.
  20. first view of a caledonian 92 on sleeper stock. bloody love them locos.
