Another vote here for screenwash as a general purpose acrylic thinner

Screenwash works great. If you are using water, don't use tap if you are in a hard water area. It will crust up the airbrush in time.

      Agree with above post

  2. I must admit some leave a lot to be desired, like the 92 and HST power car, and even the prototype DELTIC? really! but others, like the black 5 and bullieds look quite good. if I was modelling a preserved railway in the 1970's/80's id plumb for one for display.
  3. I belive 804 is now owned by the guy who has 801 at ferry meadows. And both have an operational future on the NVR, so i belive.
  4. Just caught up with this thread. not updated in a while but some lovely shots on here.
  5. Not good at all, it was like watching a bad play where the actors are desperatly trying to be the people they are immitating. Bring back clarkson
  6. Carrick road has been an ispiration to me since it was first in model rail in 99?? Is it really that long!! I always remember your 03 with the drawing pin buffers, something i copied on my Hornby 06 back then!
  7. You could always leave tour pictures to an institution, the NRM or colour rail take in photographs.
  8. i have only just found this topic, some very good and interesting shots. after reading the last few posts and no update since 2014 one does wonder if Jeff ever made it back from France!!
  9. Now do i buy a SDJR 7f or not? Cannot decide!

  10. i have just spent a while reading yuor build, very enjoyable and am looking foirward to more progress.
  11. Good evening. A question if i may. I have just ran my metro bobo out for the first time. My layout is code 100, and has peco code 60 3rd rail without the small washer under the third rail pot. My metro 3rd rail shoes catch the third rail to the point of derailment. My track is level and the third rail is quite low. Has anyone else expirienced this? Thanks
  12. Cant wait, ive ordered an NSE one to go with my ordered epb!
  13. Thats a shame, i seem to no longer be able to log into the rmweb archive.

  14. fifty quid spent on dvds! dam you videoscene sale!

  15. After reading back through 5 or 6 pages, as i model the southern and my Hornby/lima reissue grates me, can i assume that the large logo one "is the best of a bad bunch" so to speak. i so dearly want a new spec 73, but have been put off my preffered Intercity mainline one after seeing it in the flesh in Trains4u. i may have to opt for the Large logo one. there doesnt appear to be many comments about that particular model. thanks.
  16. Just seen the images of rail exclusives new class 24 on fbook, sinply stunning..... If you like 24's. Very nice indeed.
  17. growing concern as my ticket for the peterborough show has not shown up with one day left to go. :-s

  18. tickets book for the petervborough show. dont seem 5 mins since i booked last years!

  19. Yes tried either end, the chevrons on barabel are not as relaxed as those on the blanking plates, the printed ones on the bufferbeam are quite steep. It looks like they have just rereleased to blanking bits from the earlier esso one.
  20. I dont know if its an isolated issue but the chevrons done match up on mine on the nem blanking plate.
  21. I bought a barabel, the first one in a non-descript livery. Excellent loco
  22. 8f was a definate highlight, one good one for me was mallard, as ive seen so many Hornby A4's missing their front buffer beam i built up quite a spares pool from that one!
  23. Peterborough smiths has loads, a small exquisit little engine. OO scale.
