  1. Still waiting in the Deepest Darkest Dales for my fix
  2. This is the best advice I was given once and wholeheartedly agree with The Johnster on this. and might I add rubber gauging as an reformed offender of this it only dilutes one efforts and finances in the long run. I know plenty of people who do it successfully but they are better people than I; the lure of the shiny is an intoxicating one But it sounds like you are pretty focused. Looking forward to seeing how you get along. Tom
  3. Just come across your thread and work Peter and just wanted to say how marvellous it is. I am sitting back in the armchair and admiring and looking forward to seeing this progress. Tom
  4. Coming along nicely Kevin and the J39 looks good. Another great little layout proving you don't need an empire. Looking forward to seeing your progress.
  5. I really like your concept Paul and have always been more interested in the operations of the railway than anything else. The cards really make for operational interest and a simple way to organise it. Great work and looking forward to seeing this develop. T.
  6. If I a) had the money b) modelled 00 c) had the space I might even dabble in said dark arts of 00 sound. But looking forward hopefully to seeing some of these iterations at some point.
  7. The 37 sounds pretty damn good. This has to be one of my fav layouts, though as others have said its not Swiss or NG
  8. True, I don't know what it was but I just couldn't love the Allegra So we'll have to see how this turns out. And then there's whether or not Kato will get in on it..
  9. Given the introduction of the Allegras I wondered how long it would be before the started removing the mkII's. But the concept is more pleasing to the eye than the Allegras
  10. Intriguing Paul, how much were the G&H Ends? If you don't mind me asking?
  11. One expects life to get easier as one gets older, however that seems in my experience to be untrue. The one thing that I have learned is talking is one of the best remedies, although at 'ones' low points this seems to be the hardest thing to do. Hope you and yours weather the storm and return to calmer waters.
  12. Thanks to all involved for a great show! I really enjoyed my day out and the highlight for me was the storage box for Crioch and the layout infrastructure. Although I liked the layout too Thanks to the owner spending time "show and telling" about it's construction. There were some really good inspirational layouts both large and small and Pempoul is in my top ten layouts. Looking forward to next year though not wishing time away..
  13. Looking forward to my annual pilgrimage to my favourite show.. looking forward to some inspiration in what ever form.
  14. After two bottles of wine.. and a change of home.. I now have a modelling room know as my bedroom :D

  15. Very impressive Paul and looking forward to getting to see it at some point. How did it all run?
  16. Just seen this clip on Youtube.. Things are getting a bit more expensive this year.. https://www.youtube.com/embed/VJtgEOcN2_E
  17. Well one needs to check tolerances Another step forward..
  18. Actually I meant to ask are you reusing all or part of FL in new gaff? and you could always knock up a mini Frankland
  19. Good luck for move Mark.. Looking forward to Frankland Mk2 in due course.. and result on getting a railway room.
  20. There's also the Kato N range though not scale sized.
  21. I too am looking forward to seeing this develop as a fan of the Yorkshire coastal route, and some of features are going to be interesting.
