  1. I have been lurking on the thread and have picked up on some interesting thoughts and actions from it thanks guys. For me I know when things are bad that I can't even be bothered to come on here as an example as I think all my efforts are a waste of time and that most things in life are generally pointless. However in the last couple of years through being introduced to CBT I am starting to be able to spot triggers and try to do something about it even if that is to accept the current state and to know it will pass at some point. This hobby has been one constant strand through my life and although at times I think due to inactivity to pack it all in but somehow I keep coming back and even if I am just browsing on here I feel that is keeping the thread going as I always seem to have a reason for that inactivity. Anyway enough of me I need to do some noodling on an idea I have for a challenge layout. Best to all black dog sufferers and beaters.

  6. Thanks guys, Looking at collectplus as half price of RM
  7. Hello, I want to eBay an item that comes to about 4.5Kg and am wondering hows other would send such an item. I have consulted Royal Mail's website and seen Parcel Force is the most cost effective as the item is tracked rather than signed for, but coming in at around 15-16 pounds mark I wonder if this will put buyers off? So what are peoples thoughts on sending a heavier package? are there alternatives I should think about too? Many thanks, Tom
  8. Pretty much I think goes for everybody who's normal, unless they are an egomaniac.
  9. Another cracking issue and loved the Morfa article. I don't care what tech they use as long as the mag keeps coming and that's from some one with a background in pre-press..
  10. Ian, Textedit on the Mac will open this. Hope that helps Tom
  11. Cracking layout Pete! Wondering if you'll be building a bigger one with all that Swiss stock
  12. It could be that I am rather cynical but could it seem a bit "smelly"!?
  13. Another cracker layout on the way Pete, as ever I get as much enjoyment out of your drawings Tom.
  14. Yes part of my formative years and he always seemed the down to earth one. So many memorable moments.. a true star.
  15. .. and for those not interested in such things just jog on by.. pretty much like I do here..
  16. Many thanks for the reply Andy, time enough to save for the bits I need then.. and I understand about getting willing helpers. Looking forward to seeing what transpires but might have to get the stage coach down the Great North Road if needs be.
  17. Might be the other way round.. imho
  18. I have mixed feelings about it as no matter where you go on the internet someone is tracking your progress whether that be Facebook or Google or who ever and it is just a thing of modern times. I kind of feel we are living in a dystopian sci-fi film where Skynet owns and manipulates us, but then I think of all the positive things like being able to keep in touch with family and friends and resources like this one that has taught me many things and made friendships I would never have made before the interweb.
  19. Not exactly a modelling question but.. having just found this chassis building vid on youtube and a conversation at weekend NEAG35 I wondered if there was any likely hood of another chassis building workshop, maybe in the North?
  20. NEAG35 was a grand day out and jump started the mojo again after a number of years dormant, in fact a cunning plan has been hatched. Good to see and speak to friends old and new.. Not my content, thx Richard but for those interested http://2mmkeag.blogspot.co.uk/2017/05/bournmoor-supermeet.html.
