  1. I seem to recall that we were given a typed list of Locomotives present at Swindon Works on each visit, although I still used to write the numbers down in my spotting book. I'll have a look through my mountain of Railway Books / Railway Lists.
  2. My apologies, I mistook your ref to 27028 as 27208. Looking at my Computer Records it shows that I only recorded 27208 just the once although I visited Swindon Works several times in 1984/85 period so it may well be a Typo on my part. I will see if I can find my written notes to see if they reveal anything.
  3. My notes show 27208 was present on 22/08/1984 and you quote it has having arrived early August 1984 ?
  4. Just an observation, finding logging on a bit slow at times and get the occasional "Time Out".
  5. Well done Andy in getting the new Forum up and running. It's slowly growing on me!!
  6. During a down turn in Business ( Miners Strike ? ) a lot of Locomotives were sent to Swindon Works for Storage. Subsequently some Locomotives were "Shopped" before a return to Service.
  7. My "Spotting" Notes show the following were present at Swindon Works 27002, 27019, 27036, 27040, 27208 22/08/1984 and 27034 25/09/1985
  8. The original Bedford St Johns was a Halt before the end of 1967.
  9. I received Shunter 1 and Shunter 2 as Christmas Presents, useful reference for detailing Models etc, very pleased with both books.
  10. Simon, Thank you for the timely reminder to update, my IDE was well out of date.
  11. The last time I visited Margate was some 20 Years ago when I did a repair to an Induction Heater at Hornby!
  12. Mel, Thank you for starting what has turned out to be a great thread on the Class 25's I have fond memories of seeing D7575 at Marylebone Station 18/04/1964 when it worked the Empty Stock off of a Railtour Hauled by 4472 Flying Scotsman. I used to see plenty of Class 25's at Bletchley in the early 80's until they were replaced by Class 31's, happy days. I'll have to see if I have any Class 25 images worth sharing.
  13. I think it's been carefully disguised by some clever weathering.
  14. So that's what a Class 25 looks like underneath!
  15. UART's, that brings back a few memories for me. Back in the early 80's I used an 8250 UART as part of an RTTY (radio Teletype) Decoder using a Sharp MZ80A Computer!!
  16. Always look forward to your photographs, I'll chip in if I have knowledge of the Subject. Please continue with your posts, much appreciated by all that follow this thread. Congrats on passing 1000 Mark!
  17. Very strange! I would appreciate it if you could PM Adrian and let him know what's going on.
  18. Hello Simon, My name is definitely David and I've been "Pannier Tank" on RMweb for quite a number of years going back to the original RMweb. There are a few derivatives of "Pannier Tank" here on RMweb "PannierTank" (no space) is one that springs to mind. Interesting that you should mention WT because I am also "Pannier Tank" (with a space) on WT (since the days of the Guvnor) but noticed today that I am unable to login to WT and am unable to reset my password. Maybe John has a variant of "Pannier Tank" (maybe with out a space?).. I'll have to try and contact admin to find out whats gone wrong with my login. Ok on MERG; things have probably progressed quite a lot since you were a member, quite a few new CBUS modules.
  19. Hello Chris, Thank you for your informative reply. So it doesn't look as though I will be purchasing any of the new Hornby Coaches although having Newton Abbott Works nearby does allow a little of "modellers licence". Anyway I have several Auto Trailers that I can use with a variety of locomotives, just need to look for some appropriate Coaches for the new Hornby Prairie to haul back and forth.
  20. Nice to see the GWR Large Prairie and the 57' bow-ended suburban coaches. I just need to research to see if the coaches are appropriate for the Moretonhampstead Branch.
  21. Simon, did you consider MERG's CBUS before deciding on I2c ?
  22. I am currently taking (have been for 2 years or so) Finasteride for an enlarged Prostate and suffer from some of the side effects you mention. I have been prescribed Finasteride to help reduce the size of my Prostate / PSA Level. Since taking Finasteride my PSA level has not really reduced, currently averaging around 20. Of course what I don't know is what my PSA Level would be if I didn't take Finasteride. I am due a PSA Blood Test and will wait for the results and then make an appointment to see my GP to discuss my medication etc.
  23. I travelled on a LNWR Service from Bletchley to Birmingham International where we were booked for a 15 Minute stop. On this occasion an additional Class 350 was added to the service; I have noticed this on other occasions.
  24. That sounds like an interesting Project there Simon, I look forward to further developments.
