  1. Given the variety of services, liveries & not to mention longevity of the 37s and 47s I'm not sure that's comparing apples with apples.
  2. Thanks for the tip re: cabs, I'll reach out to Charlie. I was hoping to avoid the 117 route as I'll likely need to do that to make a 127.
  3. Wow, you're moving quickly with this!
  4. Evening all, I quite fancy modelling one of the Class 308 postal units and was wondering whether anyone was aware of a suitable kit currently available. The DC Kits offering seems to be long out of stock and the range all but abandoned as I understand it. The Britannia Pacific model meanwhile is prohibitively expensive for its level of detail imo. Is there anything else out there? I had seen some 3D printed cabs but being a bit out of era I'd need to do a good chunk of research to get bodies and underframes sorted.
  5. I believe I've seen 3D printed 158 snowploughs, can't recall where at the moment though. As for the lights I'd probably just be replacing with home-fit LEDs.
  6. I have a pair of these to do as well, though haven't made a start yet. Currently pondering the best way to motorise it.
  7. I've been making my own for a few years, primarily for road vehicles. I'm quite pleased with the results but would say the carrier film is a little thicker than most commercial efforts.
  8. Following this one with interest, I do like a mail train!
  9. Well, the arrival of this pair should spur me on a bit. Currently working on the backscene and weighing up whether to paint one or import something from id.
  10. Well that's a hit my wallet wasn't expecting this morning, but IC swallow and GNER gold pre-ordered. Now, what to do with my old model...
  11. Look forward to seeing your efforts, the minibus takes a bit of work to get it to UK spec but certainly looks the part once it's done.
  12. A bit more progress made on these
  13. Was pleased when my 86 landed today, but rather less so when I got the box open... Has anyone else had this? The paint on the headcode box looks a little thin anyway so I'm tempted to try a touch of filler rather than posting it back across the pond.
  14. A big factor for me is VAT discounting and reliable international shipping. The relationships both of the big brands have with my retailer of choice rather limits my ability/likelihood to purchase.
  15. Not exactly an odd location for a model railway though
  16. Making some progress with these and whilst the majority are destined for the mail terminal there are a few which will find homes elsewhere on the layout, including a couple in the middle which I think @Merfyn Jones might recognise - thanks for the Flickr album
  17. I keep hoping they'll release one, I could do with a few for the RMT layout
  18. 90 looks cracking, presumably a Bachmann respray?
  19. I think the newer formulation has fallen out of favour for that purpose
  20. I got a response from an Annie who works there and found her tremendously helpful
  21. The base model is nice but for anyone considering the same conversion I'll just say that unlike some other manufacturers the heat shield on the roof is not a separate part and must be carved off.
  22. It's adapted from a police van from the Hong Kong Model Co
