  1. Beware the small double arrows on D6318. Safer options with standard arrows would be D6328 or D6332. (I believe Brush Veteran has photos of those two.) Geoff Endacott
  2. Why not release one of each livery without numbers? I would buy them and I am sure a lot of other people would too - especially if they were slightly cheaper! Geoff Endacott
  3. Welcome back Dave. I am still confused. Hattons are listing D1000A as D6324 blue full yellow ends and D1000B as 6326 blue full yellow ends. So if 6324 is now 6326, does that mean both models are the same? Geoff Endacott
  4. I have just added a comment on Facebook about D6324. Maybe they will become collectors' items. I can see them on eBay now - rare Dapol Class 22 in incorrect livery. Geoff Endacott
  5. From Dapol on Facebook: "Please ignore the running number on the Class 22's. The correct ones willbe posted here and on the website soon." Geoff Endacott
  6. It dawned on me today that there is another problem with the list of liveries. It is good practice to work from a photograph of your chosen prototype wherever possible. Dapol can't be working from photos as a photo of D6324 in blue livery can't exist. Geoff Endacott
  7. Why can't they get the liveries right? I thought Bachmann were bad enough when half of the Warships were wrong. Dapol seem to be aiming for 100% wrong! Geoff Endacott
  8. They can't. It didn't sell for £995 so the seller has listed it again with a higher starting price. The last one at auction fetched £420 which although still silly, is nowhere near as high as this one. Geoff Endacott
  9. This has definite modelling possibilities. Where can you put a 4x4 on your layout? Geoff Endacott
  10. I am beginning to wonder if you will have any special dietary requirements when you come to Trainwest in April. Geoff Endacott
  11. 831 is standing at the shunt signals on the main. I suspect that it was in front of 6326 on shed and has been moved out of the way to allow the 22 to escape. There is room in front of 831 for 6326 to set back into the platform road. Perhaps 809 is being moved to allow 831 back on shed behind it. Geoff Endacott
  12. Lack of respect for rules is nothing new. I remember 25 years ago challenging someone who was smoking in a non-smoking carriage. He was the guard! Geoff Endacott
  13. Mind you, a new Hornby Class 60 goes for more than £100 these days so it's not too bad a price for someone who can clean the windows off a bit. Geoff Endacott
  14. A fraudster still has your partner's card details. It may be a good idea to contact the card issuer to get a new card. Geoff Endacott
  15. At least this weathered loco http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/WEATHERED-LOCO-SHUNTER-RUNS-OK-/270803124089?pt=UK_Trains_Railway_Models&hash=item3f0d1fbf79 runs OK. Geoff Endacott
  16. I have heard about these SatNav things. Have they made one which works properly yet? Geoff Endacott
  17. That's another one from this thread which will be at Trainwest next year. Geoff Endacott
  18. A total of 512 were built and for many years (most of the 1970s?) the number in traffic was 508. This accounts for the four early withdrawals which have been described above. Geoff Endacott
  19. I think Harper's bizarre! Geoff Endacott
  20. There are lots of gaps where it is 0v. Geoff Endacott
  21. First it was Barnstaple to Bideford with James May. Now this: http://www.newsbiscuit.com/2011/07/01/Hornby-wins-contract-for-high-speed-rail-link/ Geoff Endacott
  22. I had tended to side with the mother-in-law until I read this bit: "It is tragic that you have diabetes. However, you aren't the only young person in the world who is a diabetic. I know quite a few young people who have this condition, one of whom is getting married in June. I have never heard her discuss her condition. She quietly gets on with it. She doesn't like being diabetic. Who would? You do not need to regale everyone with the details of your condition or use it as an excuse to draw attention to yourself. It is vulgar. As a diabetic of long standing you must be acutely aware of the need to prepare yourself for extraordinary eventualities, the walk to Mothecombe beach being an example. You are experienced enough to have prepared yourself appropriately." That does seem rather unsympathetic to put it mildly. Geoff Endacott
  23. ...and the real D1028, the real D1027, the real D1026 and the real D1025. Geoff Endacott
  24. Off the top of my head the answer is three - D6334, D6335 and D6336. The problem with the Dapol model is that pre-production images show one of the earlier batch with different body end details. Unless the moulding is changed, the answer to how many of the class represented by the Dapol model carried plain green with headcode boxes is possibly zero. Geoff Endacott
