  1. All the architectural details have now been added to the department store so a quick squirt with some pale grey primer. I’ll add the signage lettering tomorrow. It’ll be painted Portland stone colour with is available from Vallejo. I’ll probably add some variation into that.
  2. Some good if interrupted progress with the replacement department store. Once the side wall is completed and the entrances done it’ll be undercoat time. The new building is narrower as I’m making the pavement wider.
  3. Great photo, taken from Dyke Road Drive bridge….I’ve a fair few taken from the same location. Difficult to tell what those poles are for. The carriage washer is just the other side of the bridge might just be a power supply for that.
  4. The Mk2a BFK is an easy conversion, use the compartment interior from a Mk1 FK shortened and attach it to the brake area of the BSO. Yellow stripe and numbers from Railtec.
  5. I can just use the heads and eat the bodies…….Nurse!
  6. Well there I was expecting a splurge of c47s and only two more versions than announced many years ago. There’s hope for Spring 2024! Odd no VT RFB
  7. You’d need a big mouth to eat that. 😂
  8. My wife and her sister had a not so quick trip to the York Designer outlet……….no clothes with posh labels for me… Yes 3kg of jelly babies…..these are so much better than the Maynards ones.
  9. Thanks Ben. To finish off today a couple of views of the W.I.P. in situ……..taken by a passing pigeon.
  10. Grotty day today in North Yorkshire…but indoors it’s nice and warm, so I took advantage of some spare time and have carried on with the department store. Carcass now made and some details being added to the walls.
  11. I made some progress on the replacement store for Kensington high street at the latest Yorkshire NGS area meeting. Front wall windows all cut out. The Hastings DEMU also had the last of its Dapol dummy knuckle couplers added. I might even be able to change one end of each coach to short ones which will close the gap even more. The four trailer cars have now been glued to their chassis.
  12. Confusingly or not I’ll be bumping into John both in Brighton and Yorkshire….

  14. There is a catalogue supplement issued each quarter, announcements prior to catalogue are incorporated as an appendix.
  15. Sound versions were announced back when the VT, RES and Colas trio were first announced. I will not be surprised to find next week’s announcement also contains rail blue, Intercity and TTG versions.
  16. Sound fitted Met Cams have been….not quite gone we still have/had a blue /grey one in the shop last week. The class 47s must be at least 4 years since announcement, if not more.
  17. Sister Tamworth should have read the Interweb rather than frightening London ice cream sellers….apart from that fact it’s 1979/80! https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/99_Flake
  18. The Dapol dummy knuckle couplers worked a treat. Closer than the Rapidos, No corridor locking ( no intermediate buffers on SR EMUs and DMUs ) and no uncoupling. Three and a half vehicles completed so far.
  19. ……..meanwhile on the mean streets of Kensington……Sister Tamworth and the rest of the Three Wheeler gang have surrounded the Walls Ice Cream van demanding to know why 99’s are called that!
  20. This afternoon I’ve spent some time trying to get the Hastings DEMU slightly closer coupled between coaches. Various West Hill magnetic couplers tried, either longer than Rapidos or too close. More interesting was the constant derailments on curves. I also tried some Dapol knuckle couplers but they gave a longer gap than the Rapidos and didn’t stay coupled constantly. Finally I tried various lengths of NEM bar couplers and these also constantly derailed the coaches. So it’s back to Rapidos as the closest and most reliable. I do have some Dapol dummy knuckle couplers that haven’t been tried yet.
  21. Hillary Briss’s Special Stuff….from the League of Gentlemen. Your suggestion made me laugh John. Thank you and me too.
  22. Birthday today…just the one railway related pressie. Looking forward to this.
