  1. The Eastern Region book has been proof read and returned....here is the proposed cover. The synopsis on the rear cover is for the WR book. That has been pointed out to the publishers! I've also asked them to re -crop the photo at Retford so that the class 31 hasn't been chopped off.
  2. A recently acquired NSE livery class 47 has had its 47581 numbers and Gt Eastern names removed. These have been replaced with some rather nice 3D waterslide decals from Railtec. The loco is now the 47573 the London Standard.
  3. Nice review of my SR book in the December issue of the Hornby Magazine.....recommended reading no less!......it was their only book review!
  4. The 4TC DTS Coaches have had the handrails added as well as the ETH jumper and unit numbers. The footboards have also been altered around the cab and first passenger door. Just coach numbers and finish off the bogie additions before some weathering to complete. I’ll get some photos up later this week.
  5. Due out on the 15th of November. Hopefully I will get my copies before I head south to the Brighton MRC exhibition.
  6. Nice review of my book in the December issue of Hornby Magazine......not the Times Literary Supplement but it’s a start!
  7. Just a week to go before the exhibition...I’ll be heading down from York for the weekend to help out....hope to see a few RMweb members over the weekend...please make yourselves known and I hope you enjoy the show.
  8. Something a bit different.....Lotus Seven from RailNScale https://railnscale.com/2018/10/31/lotus-seven/ Shame about the pricing changes.
  9. Both series have been useful to me as they regularly used locations around Kensington Olympia for filming.
  10. Without doubt the magazine is worth the subscription alone, plus you get access to the NGS commissioned models and kits.
  11. More money than sense..... There still hasn’t been a second run announcement of the blue/grey Mk1 FK, the first run sold out very quickly.
  12. Thanks Andy.... The model was one of those projects that was a right pig for something relatively simple. Should have taken a day or two max but was a two steps forward one step back kind of model. I might go for a Mk2 version later......
  13. Renault 5 now available from RailNscale in 1/148 and RHD.
  14. I'll post some pictures of the 4TC later but the third cab has been used to replace the paint damaged one. The largely finished unit had a good run at the NGS meeting at the weekend. RDB977091 was also largely completed and had a run out too. I could only take what I had at home as I was involved in a RTA on the way to pick the rest of the stock up. My poor Ford Kuga looks like its a write-off after it was hit a right angles by a car that failed to stop at give way markings and I ended up being stopped by one of BT's finest Telephone poles...which snapped in the accident. I walked away from it...got my first and hopefully last ride in an ambulance...no sirens though! I'll also post some pics from the NGS meeting too.
  15. I have to agree with you to some degree, typos can be reduced by someone else checking the work in addition to the author and the editor. The semi Matt paper doesn’t help the pictures but I was pleased with my SR book picture reproduction. I did scan every single image at 2400 dpi and then each one was edited and reduced to a minimum of 2000 pixels wide. Despite being checked multiple times I only spotted two errors, both mine, one was a picture out of sequence by one place and the other was part of a caption missing. What was there was correct and made sense but the actual train details were missing. For under £15 they aren’t bad. My ER volume is already available for pre order on Amazon.
  16. This was Railmatch BR yellow, with Humbrol gloss varnish over the top. This seemed to be OK but I followed up with a Tamiya Satin which has reacted. They were all rattle cans. The Railmatch I’m assuming is enamel had been sprayed on months ago.....the Humbrol was acrylic as was the Tamiya.
  17. Bit of a oh sh*t moment this afternoon, I’d added the unit numbers to the cab ends of the 4TC and given them a squirt of varnish to seal them only for the varnish to react with the paint. One cab is a right off, the other one has only reacted a little. I have a spare cab thankfully, might manage to get it ready for the Yorkshire NGS Open weekend, this weekend.. https://yagngs.wixsite.com/yorkshire-area-group
  18. https://www.amberley-books.com/community-andy-gibbs Other good bookshops are available.......... The Eastern Region volume has been sent in now, just setting out the London Midland one.
  19. The thickness of the bus sides hasn’t helped, although it’s my fault for not allowing the correct amount, they seem much thicker than say a Farish Mk1 coach. Anyway the sides and roof are now glued back together again and the chassis sits nicely in the rebates. Just need to cut new ends to get back to the position it was in the photos above.
  20. I knew I’d end up doing it, sides have been removed to widen the roof, so that the body will sit over the chassis. The chassis has been narrowed slightly too.
  21. A couple of progress photos for RDB977091. Its ended up a fraction narrow somehow, so I'm going to have to rebate the body a bit for it to sit over the chassis......or make that narrower! I've popped the bus windows back in. One mod will be the ventilators as RDB977091 has hopper windows, so the middle bar will need removing.
