  1. So as it isn’t clear, does that mean any further models announced or anything that hasn’t been produced yet? In my case a sound fitted class 50 I have on order with a shop.
  2. A couple of new items have been emailed to me from RailNscale. MB Trac 1300 Tractor https://railnscale.com/2018/09/14/mb-trac-1300/ Van roof racks https://railnscale.com/2018/09/12/roof-racks-for-vans/ As usual they will increase the scale to 1/148 if requested.
  3. My copies arrived yesterday, quite pleased with it, still spotted two small errors after I’d checked it over and over again.
  4. Yes at the excellent Train Testing website. http://www.traintesting.com/leyland-coach.htm
  5. Thank you for that, you’re one up on me I haven’t seen a copy in the flesh yet, just the electronic pdf from the publishers. Eastern Region book went in last week two months ahead of schedule. London Midland Region one next.
  6. A couple of years ago we were on Vancouver island, found a model store in Victoria which had under a layer of dust a couple of brand new Dapol HST packs, power cars and two coaches. They had been reduced to approx £60 each. They came home with me, were tested and sold on for double.
  7. I believe the phrase is Oh B*gg*r! IPA too late for me but an excellent choice for all those ODC Transits before Ford shut down Eastleigh and moved production to Turkey. VEA nice for a Speedlink train and I haven’t bought any NGS ones. Class 128 interesting choice, I’d prefer the WR version in later BR blue but feel that a LMR version will find a home at Olympia and as mentioned by Revolution, 63ft chassis.......Class 119 please!
  8. Photos to follow but the bar couplers worked a treat with a propelling test on the Wards Cutting layout. Made some brackets up from plasticard for the bogies, about 50% fitted. Horns are being made up from plastic rod and filler, look a little chunky but not to bad.
  9. And still no second issue / announcement of the Mk1 FK in blue / grey been sold out for a couple of years. I think John you’ll get a Scenecraft Resin Car Ferry before the Sealink Mk1s appear!
  10. Ah I see what you mean, so my answer should have been yes plural and yes B5S.....only the damper fitted so far, will start the other bits at the Yorkshire NGS meeting today. If plasticard doesn’t work I’ll have to find some thin brass strip. I’ll also be doing some propelling testing with the bar couplers.
  11. No you don’t, I’ve just finished making one from a 25/2.
  12. Yes the plural...although the number on the Southern must have outnumbered the Catering and Sleeping cars by far.
  13. A BIG thank you to everyone for your suggestions and finding the right location. I will be including it in my Eastern Region book.....which I had just finished scanning the photos in for......one more won’t hurt.......and I’ll include a thank you for finding the location in the caption. You can all go and have a well deserved lie down!
  14. Just shows how much has changed in the period......and Hackney Wick station didn’t exist before 1980 either.
  15. So we are looking West towards Hackney Wick. The 25mph PSR no longer exists then, as the curve has been eased?
  16. The Harwich to Manchester, later Glasgow and Edinburgh got diverted via Watford from 1986 I think... but had been formed of aircon stock from the early 80,s. I agree it could be a diversion 1986 for the Norwich electrification being completed so fits the 84-87 timeframe.
  17. Traweling through my London Rail Atlas there is no access to any other London terminal at this point and very limited northbound routes. You can access to WCML at Primrose Hill and you can access the ECML via Kentish Town West and Harringay Jct. Maybe Liverpool st to Cambridge diversion via the ECML?
  18. Interesting, NLR was flagged up last week on another forum and I couldn’t consolidate the details to Hackney Wick at the time. However this does look a good bet, third rail gone, factory to the left still there but missing the extractors, bridges and station building etc and the shortish platform. The only thing is the curve behind the train looks much more severe in the picture, but this is probably an illusion. Train also makes sense as a Liverpool Street to Cambridge / Kings Lynn service or a Norwich working. class 47 early Mk2s and an RMB......but how did it get to Liverpool St from there, no route. So we could be looking at an excursion or a train diverted into Kings Cross? To précis the view we are looking east towards Stratford.
  19. Maybe it’s more above the high seas rather than on it!
  20. I’m building a 4TC in n gauge from Farish Blue Ribband Mk1s you might be interested in the method. Link below.http://www.rmweb.co.uk/community/index.php?/topic/75679-kensington-olympia-in-n-scale/?p=3173728
  21. Not much progress with the 4TC this week but I have managed to add the dampers to the bogies to make them more like B5,s....well when I say dampers it’s a bit of plastic rod. I’ve also started to make some horns from plastic road and filler as the only brass ones I’ve found don’t look suitable. Finished scanning the pictures in for the third of my books today, this is the Eastern Region. This will give me some breathing space as it doesn’t need to be with the publishers until November. About 150 out of 190 captions written too.
  22. I’ve tried that approach but I might have missed something. The cross London routes are Kensington Olympia, no intermediate stations until the last few years...and not electrified until later. from Longhedge Jct routes on to all three SR divisions. Brent to Barnes and also Reading to Clapham Jct via Ascot. You could include the North London Line to Richmond. Have I missed anything?
  23. Eltham came up on my list fairly early on but the curve behind the station doesn’t exist. New Eltham had a CLASP building. The A20 may well have affected the track layout.
