  1. Chris Hatton retired from the railway about 4-5 years ago. He was one of the Production Managers at Reading TMD. Retired a couple of years after the move to the new TCD.
  2. If that’s Snapper Street, is the owner of the warehouse a certain Harry Organs?
  3. Kelsey Publishing did the “On Shed” series which seemed to be quite well received on here. Hit & Miss if your local WH Smith’s (other shops available) stocked it, I usually ordered direct from the publisher (free P&P) and have no complaints about the service. (Usual disclaimer, no connection etc, etc.)
  4. Looks fine to me but even if you didn’t have the space as long as the platform can accommodate one coach. For example Passengers for Cassington on the Fairford Branch always had to join the front coach behind the Loco as that’s all the platform could accommodate.
  5. No it still happens, it’s standard routine. 5C50 Reading TCD - London Paddington (2x57 TnT) 1C50 London Paddington - Penzance (2x57 TnT as far as Reading, rear Loco detaches (0C50) and either stables in the Station or drops onto the TCD. 1x57 continues forward.) 1A50 Penzance- London Paddington (1x 57 as far as Reading, 0A50 drops onto the rear, 2x57 TnT forward) 5A50 London Paddington - Reading TCD (2x 57 TnT) sometimes if one of the 57s is required at Long Rock (for exam as an example) it will be put on the train as the pilot Loco but instead of detaching at Reading , the sleeper will carry on to Penzance TnT. (vice versa the other way too)
  6. A very very quick play with an app on my IPad, hope @KNP doesn’t mind! Don’t look too close at the seams
  7. Talking of which, a couple of views of Broadway Signal Box taken in July 2020:
  8. When I did mine, I got a sheet of headcodes off a well known auction site. As they weren’t self-adhesive, I cut the headcodes out and glued them to some thin clear plastic cut to fit the headcode boxes and tacked them in with a dab of adhesive.
  9. The “Prince of Wales” is directly across the road from Didcot Parkway. Has Passenger Information Screens as all Railway Station Pubs should. At Bath, in Brunel Square, a few steps away from the Station is “Graze”. The outside eating area / beer garden backs onto the platform, literally just the other side of the fence. Cheers!
  10. COLAS 60021 on a fuelling point: June 2015 - 60021 was low on fuel at Colnbrook so ran up to Reading TCD for a pit stop. Certainly made a nice change from the usual fare of DMUs! The following photo was sent to me by a mate, who just happened to be on a passing train!
  11. Thanks for the link, I think I’ll be having a couple of those Snatch Landrovers.
  12. BR Blue No20 on preorder purely as a “just because I can” item and I happen to work at Reading.
  13. My 2p’s worth on the 2021 hopes thread was for more blue / LL 56s and we get both! Decisions, Decisions! But LL has got my vote so 56086 is now on pre-order. It may stay as is or end up as 56124 Blue Circle Cement. If I save my pennies (and there’s some still available) I may stretch to 56047 as well (don’t tell SWMBO!! ) but as I happen to work at Reading, the little BR Blue Reading Signal Works Shunter No20 just happened to fall into my pre-order basket as well!
  14. It is the Fairford Branch but it’s South Leigh. Same photo here: Fairford Branch - South Leigh
  15. ………and is ever so disappointed!
  16. A few of mine. Moreton-in-Marsh 2014 Stourbridge 2015 Helsby 2012 Knaresborough 2014 Gobowen 2016
  17. That’ would score highly as my vote / wish / hope! Although the Class 56 makes a regular appearance, it’s been a while since BR Blue & Large Logo made an appearance. After a quick Google I found the Model rail database and according to the page on the Class 56 : BR Blue last appeared in 2007 (56013) 2011 (56082) & 2012 (56083) Large Logo last appeared in 2013 (56084), before that it was back in 2003 with Non DCC ready models. 56124 “Blue Circle Cement” or 56133 “Crewe Locomotive Works” would see me open my wallet with indecent haste!!
  18. "Gott in Himmel, ein weiterer Bus auf einer Brucke! Manfred, zunde die Stuka an!" For those who haven't got Google Translate: "God in Heaven, another Bus on a bridge! Manfred, fire up the Stuka!"
  19. https://www.world-of-railways.co.uk/Store/Latest-Issue/traction Free P&P Just in case Tesco doesn't have it!
  20. I clicked ‘agree’ to this post but just want to quantify that it’s the green line alternative I’m agreeing with!
  21. Another thread, another Stuka! At this rate Stukas are going to end up with their own sub forum! I would ask where the intrepid Sqn Ldr is but it’s Fri night, the RAF would have clocked off hours ago plus it’s happy hour in the Officers’ Mess at RAF Little Muddle.
  22. Where did you get the decals for the trollies from please or are they ‘home-grown’?
  23. I’ve just received my order with the 4mm platform trollies amongst other bits and pieces. Look really good and they were kind enough to throw in some salt/grit bins which is great, I can make use of those. Would recommend, satisfied customer, no connection etc etc
  24. Only because in his part of the world the buses were likely to be hijacked and set on fire! It wasn’t a proper riot unless an UlsterBus ended up being torched! A bus left on a bridge would most likely get a visit from the Bomb Squad!
  25. An early attempt at camouflage to confuse Baron Von @MrWolf and his squadron of Stuka dive bombers?
