Christleton Junction - 1986 - Gateway to North Wales
Banger Blue replied to 61656's topic in Layout topics
In my collection, BR (LM) WTT book (section ‘CH’) dated 14 May 1984 - 12 May 1985 includes Rock Ferry but the next one I have 30 September 1985 - 11 May 1986 shows ‘CH’ now ends at Hooton, onwards towards Rock Ferry is now in WTT section ‘CF’. -
The southern approach to Leicester Midland Station (London Road Junction): Photos linked from Flickr (not mine) I think the second photo below, which shows the ‘scenic break bridges’ to good effect could also appear in the “when the real thing looks like a model” thread.

@97406 what was the dimensions of the original and what are they now with the new extension please? I’ve had a scan through both threads but can’t see it mentioned. I really like that shot looking from the shed, down the length of the layout. Coming together nicely.

Replica, the real one is at the UK attraction.

40106 is the one from the announcement that I’m interested in and I’ve signed up to the “expression of interest”. Hopefully it is 106 as it was in the early 80s but as the models are all CFPS machines, I’m wondering if they will all be ‘as preserved’?

May I join the memsahib in the envious queue? Thats one band I would have loved to have seen. A band that unfortunately is never likely to reform :( -
Hitachi trains grounded

Inter-crew? internal comms? intercom? it’s basically asking the specified crew member to make / take an internal call (using the handsets the Train Manager / Guard uses to make PA announcements.) -
A charge over the Squadron Leader’s over enthusiastic ‘joy-sticking’ will have to wait, there’s proper criminals out there to be caught: (An ex-Snowdrop!) 😇 😁

Water Tower tank interior?
Banger Blue replied to Signaller69's topic in Modelling Questions, Help and Tips
Didcot Railway Centre posted a short video on Facebook showing the interior of their water tank just as the clean out prior to the recent restoration commenced. A couple of screenshots from said clip (can’t share the link, I don’t think the forum likes the link format): You’ll be needing to get your static grass applicator or flock out! -
Yorkshire Colliery and Wagon identification

Could it possibly be these sidings here? Today the sidings would be where the “Meadowgate” Premier Inn stands: -

Is there any significance to the purple nameplate as all the others seem to be black? -
Certainly mid 90's onwards, it was predominantly Land Rover 90/110 and then the Pinzgauer 6x6 came on line. Oxford Diecast do a Land Rover FC, in white, in the guise of a 24 Field Ambulance vehicle as deployed to Bosnia so presuming it's an accurate depiction, the Balkans was most likely their last huzzah.

The second photo Is the level crossing on the “branch line” at Didcot Railway Centre. Beyond the rusty gates is Didcot Yard and in the background, that building is the Thames Valley Signalling Centre (TVSC) -

If Biggles is looking for those dastardly bus-bombing Jerry Stukas, he’s in the wrong thread! 😜

After the arrival of the Deltic and seeng what a superb job had been done, I was umming & arring over the Class 37 but decided to hold off until “the big announcement” was made, just in case it did happen to be a Class 40! As it wasn’t (boo hoo 😪) luckily RoS are still showing availability on the AS 37s so a sound fitted Large Logo 37043 Loch Lomand was promptly ordered! 😃 -

Silly question time, how do you leave a customer review? I’ve seen the page on which you can read other reviews but can’t see anything to allow me to post my own. I’ve clicked on this in ‘my account’ section: which takes me to a selection of products, I’ve found the particular one (55005) I wish to post a review for but no option to leave a review. Viewing on an iPad if that makes any difference? -
Accurascale Class 55 Deltic - 4mm scale
Banger Blue replied to Andy Y's topic in Accurascale / Irish Railway Models
With 30 mins of the time slot to spare, 005 has arrived! I was expecting a sizeable package but on initial impressions I thought I had been sent a couple of Deltics! Only the one though, well supported top and bottom by scrunched up paper. As for the model package itself what a beast it is, very impressive looking. Glad to say that 005 is intact and I wasn’t met with any small parts lying in the bottom of the latex sleeve. Stunning hefty beast of a model, I’m no Deltic expert, but the detail is amazing. Nice one Accurascale! Cough, cough………Class 40…… wink wink nudge nudge! 😉😜 -
I’ve recently picked up a couple of Dapol’s YRV Bogie Bolster wagons with S&T markings: What would be a typical “S&T” load for one of these? I’m guessing things like cable drums or Signal posts?

There’s also a Letsby Avenue in the Falkland Islands. Been there since the late 80’s. it’s on the Mount Pleasant Airfield complex and the HQ for the Joint Service Police & Security Unit (JSPSU) can be found there!
