  1. i'll second that! PFA's PCA's PRA's amongst others all needing tackled
  2. Might as well pitch in with a guess, given an announcement at a Scottish show
  3. Wouldn't it be just typical, if by the time the ScotRail coaches are released, there ends up being a change in the formation
  4. Looking at some of the newer entrants to the N market and their offerings, there is plenty scope to upgrade some of the older wagons. These would sell in bucketloads next to the recent releases, PCA and VAA for starters.
  5. Oooo! That's going to be on the shopping list
  6. Couldn't have written a better description myself
  7. Found on Eastbank Model Railway club website. Caption - "This vehicle had been refurbished and had loose unclassified seating for 23 diners. It is seen at Glasgow Central in January 1978" M1959, anyone want to fill me in on the Diagram number? When winter was actually winter
  8. Cheers Clive So all my previous research prior to dismantling a Mainline RBR wasn't in vain, and I'm not going nuts. I had R4973A as a 26 as I couldn't find reference to a 28 to check, and I agree about R4974A (23A) we'll see
  9. These coach diagrams have been going round in my head.. Unless I'm mistaken, based on the images they have used (which I hope they have asked permission for) i see diagrams 23,24,26 and thats just looking at doors and windows, i daren't look at roofs Rgds Mark
  10. I usually have an NLS map window open on my desktop, Try the OS 1:1,250/1:2,500, 1944-1967 map series. Vary the transparency with a Bing background map. These old drawn maps are mind boggling
  11. Love the neatly kept grass! Will be interesting to see how this area develops over the next few years
  12. I purchased a few of Dennis Taylor's pictures before his 80's rail site went down, mostly at Perth. A mix of A's and B's with the odd C in there. Cheers
  13. Based on cheapness I was thinking of a Lima, frames overlaid, windows marked out then cut out. Some mods to the underframes and seam joins.
  14. Interesting work I have some of the shawplan MK2 a-c frames, and for the base and am pondering about whether to use an Airfix mk2d, hack out the windows carve the solebar, or a Lima mk2b and accept the length issue
  15. Might have to test the water on eBay for the kits
  16. See that Container wagon in the bottom corner? That obviously demonstrates an ability to do the other Speedlink coal wagon FPA
  17. unreal level of detail on these! And spare buffers in with the couplings and pipes
  18. Just received an email telling me they've been posted
  19. During In Flight Refuelling last night, the basket whacked off the side of the plane, and examination showed some scratches and it was game over for the day. Seriously? wonder if Tornados were as fragile
  20. I have some of these in need of replacement buffers. Bachmann couldn't help. Does anyone have any spares from broken/damaged no longer used ones? Or are there any alternatives out there? TIA Mark
  21. Jonathan, After having a look at a Mk2 on the back of the sleepers, that cutaway of the corridor behind the rubbing plate, is up as far as, in line with the bottom of the middle of the face plate. Rgds Mark
  22. Cheers Jonathan. What you see is a quick job made so much easier with the panel scriber. same panel scriber is used to cut the gap in the body gently to avoid saw action damaging or stressing the joints on the BFK cut'n'shut I haven't cut and straightened the headstocks as you have yet so I does bump into them, The small tab (one thick/ one thin) pokes thru the gap in the bottom of the doors by about 1mm. A quick check and I think cutting off the back of the corridor area behind the plate would be so much easier as this goes below floor level anyway. Still have the windows to cut out too. Might take a close look at coaches when I get in for my nightshift
