  1. Total fantasy... Only ever failed one
  2. Bad enough on discs, especially if the discs are sh1t, as per usual
  3. Fordoun to Marykirk through Laurencekirk, up and down. 100 Broughty Ferry to Elliot through Carnoustie, down 100 Great fun coming round the corner hitting a single yellow distant at 100
  4. The lifeguards are shocking compared to those under a 158 for example. Highlighted as such after Ufton Nervert and F*** All done about it... If you catch a glimpse of a ScR MK3 with its patchwork quilt roof, and especially the condition underneath when the patches are missing, black rusty holes everywhere.. which might explain why the first coach pancaked. The cab popped off like a lump of Lego due to being held on by a handful of bolts and as to whether or not a 170 would have survived.. who knows as you wouldn't have got a 170 up to 73mph by the impact point from a 5mph rolling start! Sobering reading considering I drove 1T08 the day before and why I've no time for the HST love in. Time to drop the iconic tag and move on before anymore of my colleagues don't come home
  5. Love this, Never thought I'd see the day. And if as you say niche subjects such as this are borderline, It gives us an idea that any smaller wagon batch will never see the light of day. Well done Mark
  6. Fabulous..😍 Now I don't need to tell you how useful that chassis will be Mark
  7. Interesting points, your marked up images have now got me looking at the tail lights Mark
  8. Thanks Fran But that comparison doesn't give me a warm fuzzy feeling. Your real image has the bottom of the lamp bracket below the bottom of the lower head code hinge. Not so on the model. And if size is a compromise, then I'd rather go without, and the scalpel will get a fresh blade. Regards Mark
  9. And hopefully slightly smaller, that looks huge
  10. Hawkhead in Paisley, I can dig out various pictures
  11. Surely this is a way to get a low height FBA, FBB too
  12. That's why if I can sort out a fan, conversions from old Airfix is worth a try
  13. There's something bizarre going on with Airfix/GMR mk2d coaches just now appear to have skyrocketed
  14. Exhibit A. Dire Scotrail HST livery
  15. Instead of talking about the next development, how about establishing improvements we have seen so far as a baseline. Actual accuracy in detail, thinking about the vastly superior details on European models. Cavalex/Accurascale/Revolution etc are getting there, no point in wishing for gizmos until some of the errors and horrors are no longer presented and us expected to pay good money for "toys" We still don't have accurate brake details on Air Braked wagons. Coach and wagon tail lamps... Available as standard please. Cab lights? For the amount of time I actually use mine... Total waste of manufacturing cost, same with opening doors. Could go on for ever..
  16. Great Stuff, I’ve got to get round to clearing my backlog before I look at the grubby Crewe test train
  17. Aha, just found this, if you these available I’d be interested for a test train. Cheers Mark
  18. That's worth looking at, to see about thickness and what prep would be required to keep the paint intact
  19. I was looking at BG and Mk2 barriers and also the works test trains which used Mk1's including ex catering. So it would be visibly raised panels, maybe fill in and then cover to stop any warping
  20. I'm looking to do some barrier coaches and pondering using thin plasticard or etched blanks for the windows. I thought someone had a topic with etches for the windows but can't find it. Any thoughts or pointers in the right direction would be great Regards Mark
  21. Be even better if they were complete and functional before going into service
  22. An evening idling through Flickr finding this... and I'm now digging up this Topic again Think 298's post there about the Crewe Electric test train might be on the money..
  23. Thanks Martyn, Brian. I'm going to make an effort detailing some of the Bachmann ones and Lima ones and I would like to make a decent effort on the brake mechanisms, for the Vacuum brushed ones and the Air Braked conversions. I'm looking at some of the Stenson Accessories for the AB ones. Regards Mark
