  1. Two pictures showing the best and worse - depending on how the train enters the curve. The slight play on the wheels determines wether you get buffer lock on peco curves. Paul
  2. I tried to pull the socket out from the cab but it was well stuck and I did not want to force it. Looking at the other end of the cable at the buffer beam I gently pull the cable towards me. This left the socket still attached to the buffer beam but allowed the body to be removed. I may have been lucky as the factory may not have glued it well. Paul
  3. On mine I managed to pull the cable out from the buffer beam socket. Paul
  4. Longer cables are available for NCE on eBay Ray. Paul https://rover.ebay.com/rover/0/0/0?mpre=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.ebay.co.uk%2Fulk%2Fitm%2F111236729311
  5. Does anyone know if Rocket type locos ever ran tender first or were they turned on some early turntable design? Just curious. Paul
  6. It's fitted with a 21 pin decoder socket. So does not need a large decoder. Paul
  7. I ordered this new bookazine from Mortons direct. Only flicked through the pages but it looks great. Paul
  8. Hattons ad on Facebook saying these are now in stock. Paul
  9. I wonder if there's going to be any DRS decals in the box for the unbranded blue one. It's gonna cost around £30 just to complete the livery! Paul
  10. It's only the tip of the screwdriver that's magnetic. Mine was from a discount store but similar ones available from wilko, b&q etc. Paul
  11. The o gauge class 120 is reported to be scrapped according to a project status report on an O gauge Facebook group. Paul
  12. Tower models are saying the class 50s should be with Heljan on 12th Dec and in the UK around 18th Dec. Paul
  13. I use bent wire taped to a small torch but I prefer to use a magnetic screw driver that holds against the side of the link allowing it to drop on the hook. I find the bent wire hook often gets caught in the various pipe work on rolling stock. The hooks on Heljan couplings are awful. The hook almost closes the gap preventing Dapol and parkside stock coupling up,hence why I snipped the tip off mine allowing a wider gap. Paul
  14. I made the jump to o gauge a couple of years ago and have 5 Heljan diesels. Each DCC fitting has had me searching for pics on line showing how others have done it. I can do it if shown were the wires go. Heljan do not make it easy with no info on DCC fitting in the box yet claiming in ads that it's easily converted. Paul
  15. If you like making aircraft and ship models hobbyçraft have half price revell kits as part of black Friday offers. Space shuttle, titanic, Lancaster bomber etc. Paul
  16. I hope it's some rolling stock as there has been quite a number of new loco announcements over the year - and they need something to pull! Paul
  17. He was a regular poster on this site a few years back praising everything Hornby and pulling others to bits. Paul
  18. It says they do on the opening thread to this topic. Paul
  19. Despite the long development of the 08 Dapol managed to keep to the original quoted price. Paul
  20. The same could be said for Hattons forth coming A3 & A4. Paul
  21. To be fair that can apply to any gauge. You only have to look in the micro layout section here to find trains travelling several inches. Paul
