  1. I think if you had any idea of the strength and diversity of PMPs background . . . . . Or been to shows with him displaying layouts and engaging with both punters and other traders / exhibitors . . . . Or sitting in the pub / curry house / strip club with PMP and other well known individuals from the railway trade, you'd realise that he's not one of those 'forum self proclaimed armchair experts'. He's passionate, knowledgeable and well connected within the hobby. I've learnt loads due to his generosity of time, knowledge and friendship. When it comes to discussing Warley and Traders and engaging with them I can tell you his "fact free opinion' is a dam sight more relevant than your BTW - well done Peco; you've taken a leap of faith and it's good . . . more please. Regards M
  2. Ahem . . . . Just a Herc Nige (Wham?!?!) !!!! https://youtu.be/7DqiWG61Nzs
  3. With the proliferation of MOD wagons recently and the ability to make short prototypical trains there maybe quite a strong market. What's your crowdfunding target Arran?
  4. Hi Peter, That area is just crying out to be turned into a mini version of Gloucester Horton Road :-) https://www.flickr.com/photos/rivercider/7488045970/ https://www.flickr.com/photos/rpmarks/5525880909/ https://www.flickr.com/photos/12a_kingmoor_klickr/5809200721/ Regards melly
  5. Looks great, just my era as well! I know you said you've added a headshunt to the fuel point area but could I suggest this ! Means the round-round loop in action doesn't stop locos to and from the sidings. regards melly
  6. Here you go. . . . https://www.flickr.com/photos/53055234@N08/33401645961/in/faves-95910128@N06/
  7. The 90's variant has a, what appears to be, significantly different colour scheme than others and the weathered variant! This ok? https://hattonsimages.blob.core.windows.net/products/H4-WW-016_3266628_Qty1_1.jpg https://hattonsimages.blob.core.windows.net/products/H4-WW-017_3266629_Qty1_1.jpg
  8. At the time I interpreted the situation as Hornby saying "There's a problem, we've produced extra with a production run (The regional and network rail ones) and speak up now or loose out!" The loco's affected were known (31110, 270 and a green one). Sorry if you missed out.
  9. Thanks all for our input. Really appreciated. M
  10. Hi Guys, i was wondering if a wood expert out there will be able to help. I've been offered some birch ply thats been garage stored for some time. Its bone dry but has some evidence of what looks like mould on the side thats exposed. Is it okay to use? Should I seal it? Whats the best way to deal with the marks/mould? It's not cost me anything but if it's salvageable that would be a real bonus. Thank You M
  11. I was some what surprised to find a small pile of very fine metal dust under the rollers of my rolling road; I believe having been finely shaved off the flange of wheels by the Bachrus rollers. The edge is very defined. Now I always check back-to-back before using the rollers for running in but also use an oval as well. The rolling road is useful for identifying poor fitting wheels as it exaggerates the wobble and it's easier to identify the problem wheelset on a stationary - running - diesel loco. Horses for courses I guess.
  12. Rob - why don't you think about a track layout that is flexible and can be multi era with the change of structures. When operating PMPs Albion Yard for the first time I was surprised how it was a plain chassis with all buildings and even trees "plonk and play". https://albionyard.files.wordpress.com/2013/09/img_8878.jpg?w=640&h=625 I was also impressed with the track layout with 2 run-round loops, especially the geometry created by using Y-Points. https://albionyard.files.wordpress.com/2012/05/img_7790.jpg As a sectorisation modeller I find Ringburn Yard vey pleasing (pun intended!) http://www.staffordforum.com/xf/index.php?threads/sat-2-feb-2013-stafford-railway-circle-exhibition-stafford-showground.10969/ Hope to catch up soon - perhaps at the Kemble Café ? 13. Can't order at the moment . . .a "Bad-gateway" on the 4mm order page :-(
  14. Ahhhh errrr Andy . . . don't want to be the Grim Reaper here but the Heljan duff looks like its displaying those tell tale Mazak failure symptoms. . . bulging poorly fitting body shell !!!
  15. Great work but if you don't mind me saying you need a container true to your era or 10 years before if it is being used as a spare store. Hope this helps http://www.emgauge70s.co.uk/project_freightliner.html regards M
  16. Good luck with this - Hereford Yard is a interesting location for late speedlink era . . . . plenty of variety of wagons needing work.
  17. Its a small wagon repair site - probably having an axle changed. DB983188, DB983246 [CBR 7-028] by Jamerail, on Flickr

Rob - looks like express models stuff to me. http://www.expressmodels.co.uk/acatalog/DCC_No_Solder_Power_Bus_Kit.html 4th item down :-) M
  19. Where is the spare 67 Cab now? I have to admit I am gob smacked at the apparent lack of accountability for spares / assets on the railways. Stuff just left lying around in unsecure places.
  20. Now there's a thought. . . . . Next Year celebrate the Trans Pennine Route with Gateshead 47's New 45's with sealed beam and Trans-Pennine coaches . . .. .pebble dropped :-)
  21. A cracking update plenty to be interested in, some to add to the wish-list and some to prompt / inspire layout expansion or refurbishment plans. Good job Bachmann.
  22. Yep some of my old bachy ones do that . . how strange !
  23. Well. . . . they've moved again. Now in a Tiny retail unit around the corner. Crying shame to see such a retailer drop the Model Rail side almost in toto. I guess mail-order is the way ahead and 'regular' customers through the door will soon be a thing of the past.
