  1. Hello, I think whatever modular system will be choosen, it will be ok. If it is a FREMO based module system I would be glad, if it is based on FREEMO or a new development, these would be ok for me. In my opinion there are ways to join two different systems together. The greatest problem would be what system is used to controll the trains. DC, or DCC (Loconet versus Xpress Net) For the height. A friend of mine developed some sort of wooden legs, which could be adapted for different heights. 1,30m and 1,10 meters are possible, I think 3 feet would be possible to. Here is the link to his site. But it is written in german, but there are some pictures which I think will explain the whole thing. http://www.blauthermik-rostock.de/Modellbahn/ModellbahnBeine.html Markus
  2. Here is the scheme of our Great-britN modular meeting in August. It is only a small meeting. The scheme of the line Thank you MacRat for drawing the scheme of the line Markus
  3. A short update regarding our Great-britN modular meeting I put on the line scheme on the meeting homepage, there is the module arangement too. http://www.great-britn.de/Treffenankuendigung2014 The scheme of the line Thank you MacRat for drawing the scheme of the line Markus
  4. On the third curved module the scenery is mostly done. Markus
  5. Hello Brian, your method of with the module legs is only working when the module length ist longer than the height from bottom to the underside of the module. But with a height of 1,30 meters above floor level for the FREMO 00 modules you need moduls with a length of more than 1,20 meters And these lengths are very tricky to handle by one man. So usually the legs are bolted or clamped to the underside of the modules. Markus
  6. As I promised a picture of the coach bolts used by FREMO members. Markus
  7. I continued on the curved modules with the lineside fencing. It was made of square styrene strips. A class 24 with a short parcels train And some length of the fence is under repair by a track workers crew Markus
  8. Hello, for connecting the modules. At FREMO we use M6 coach bolts and nuts with wings on it. So you don't need spanners for tightening or loosening the bolts. And clamps are only used if for every reason the holes of two module endplates don't match or a non FREMO module is attached. For allining the modules the holes in the endplates are usually 8 to 10 mm in diameter, so that little differences in rail and trackbed height could be leveled. Markus
  9. Here are some pictures from the different curved modules we have at Great-britN. First one of the 90° curved modules with 18inches radius. And here I think these modules have a radii of about three feet in N scale. And here the layout arrangement for our Great-britN meeting in about 4 weeks. As you could see the room is about 22 by 18 feet. Aufbaum At the top right corner you could see the 90° curved module. Markus
  10. Hello I've got a reply from some of the participants of the Rendsburg meeting. According to them the smallest radius was about 2 feet on the main line. These was at the 90° section on one of the junctions modules. But I think smaller isn't preferable. And regarding small exhibition hall. For that someone could provide curved modules with smaller radius. At Great-britN we have three 90° modules with a radius of 18inches. These is aprobriate for small exhibitions or at home. But we also have curved modules with larger radii of 70, 90 centimetres or more.So you could go round the corner quite sharply, but on the rest of the modular layout you have flowing curves. Markus
  11. Hello, maybe Felix could give you some information regarding the minimum radius on the Rendsburg meeting. And Paul, usually the FREMO meetings are no official events. Visitors are only allowed when they were invited. These is due to health and safety regulations, which says that if it is a public event that the venue has to be evacuated within 90 seconds. These isn't possible with large modular arrangements like that on Rendsburg. So for a FREMO meeting there is no chance to collect entrance fees from the visitors. The rent is usually paid by the FREMO board and so all FREMO members pays for the events. Markus
  12. Hello Felix, the Great-britN meeting is in at the first weekend at August. Markus
  13. Hello, discussions regarding the FREMO 00 modules could be found there. http://75355.homepagemodules.de/t2262f32-im-Fremo.html The discussions are usually in german, but feel free to aks in english, we will give you the answers to your question. There is also the Great-britN modular group. http://www.great-britn.de/ The Great-britN group will held a modular meeting at the first weekend in August. http://www.great-britn.de/Treffenankuendigung2014 And the modular arrangement: http://www.great-britn.de/doc/Treffen2014.pdf Markus
  14. Good morning today I placed a small boat jetty on the shore of the small river, and a small motorboat is heading for it.. I'm not sure if I will made a scene with the derelict cottage, which shows that the cottage will be renotated? Any recommandations? Markus
  15. It's been a while since my last post. But in the meantime I started with the landscape of the third module, and it is now basicly finished, so that I could show it at our modular meeting in August. Here ar some pictures of the three modules. Markus
  16. Hello, good to see your progress. It looks fantastic. Markus
  17. Hello, today I made some pictures of my dam module. Most of the scenic work is no done. For the water I used cristal clear window color. I have to wire in the cables, then painting the track and put in the ballast. On the seaside of the module I will put some clear artist acrylic paste on the water for a wave effect. Markus
  18. The bridge is ready. Then I continued with the scenery base under the bridge. I glued some plastic strips on the base of the bridge to prevent the prints from bleeding out. Markus
  19. Maybe some of you remember, that I started the construction of three curved modules last autum. One of the modules received a basic groundcover. And with the second one I built the landscape base. Yesterday after about three month I came back to the second module. On these module there will be a small bridge where the line crosses a small stream that enters the sea. For the bridge I used the Scalescenes tunnel mound kit, and adapted it for these purpose. Today I continued with cutting and gluing parts together (now I wait for them to dry). In my imagination there will be a derelict cottage on that module near the shoreline. So I downloaded the Cottage from Smart Models. I printed the kit twice, because the cottage is derelict, so you could see the inside of it. The walls were cut a few months back, but today I joined them. I will consider if these would be the final position of the cottage. Markus
  20. Hello Dave, the images looks great. I can't wait to receive the model. Markus
  21. Today I finished the electrics of my layoutaddition, and I could run my first train since I started the work. Now a film showing a footplate view of the line from the fiddle yard to Ullapool. Markus
  22. During the last week I began with the electrics under the first two segments, I also did the turnout mechanism there. These two segments are now finished, so that only the last station segment and the segment with the track towards the fiddle yard needs my attention. Markus
  23. I'm a great fan of John Allens G&D. Your layout plan did represent it very well. Markus
  24. Last week I received my JayTech HD Action Cam DVH108. Today I made a testrun with the camera. Because of the layout addition, at the moment the layout is not powered. So I pushed the camera that was placed on a N gauge Lowmac, but the camera is not sitting right on it, and the combination is a bit high, so that it didn't pass through the road overbridge. I will built a special camerawagon. Markus
  25. Today I cleaned up the Inverlael area a bit and placed some buildings on it. The Whisky Distillery on the left hand the future site of the cooperage station building view from Garve overview of the station area Markus
