Hello Stuart, I used a kind of soft plastic board, with 3mm strength, and on top are 1,5mm polystyrene board. The 3mm board could be sawn, cut, drilled, glued, painted, and is available in german DIY stores. I will have a look, how it is called. Markus -
It's been now some time after the Great-britN modular meeting. Since then I decided to scrap my Borve modules, which where a junction station. So because our group lost a junction, I decided to build a simple junction module. Here is the actual result. Markus

Hello Peter, I don't know any manufacturer who did kilted peopel, but I made mine by myself. Just took a female figure with a skirt to the knees, and a male figure with a jacket, saw them in half, than glue the male upper half on the female lower half and you've got a kilted scotsmen. Markus

Hello, last weekend I attended the FREMO regional meeting at Hanau near Frankfurt. There we assembled a quite large modular layout in N scale, with timetable operation. The layout featuered a two track main line from fiddle yard Schattenbach through Karlsruhe Durlach, to Abzweig Hohenrein, there the two track main changed to an single line main, from there it enters the second fiddle yard Frankental. From Frankental two branchlines emerges. One goes to the Industrial and harbour district, and the second was a branchline wich goes to the CSSR, cross the Iron Curtain. From Hohenrein, another branchline reached Tettnang. From Karlsruhe Durlach, there was a single track mainline to France. The timeperiod was the late 1970s to mid 1980s. We've got trains from DB, SNCF, CSD and the private industrial railway which served the industrial district. At Karlsruhe Durlach and Rittershause (on the french line) there we changed locos between DB and SNCF. At Frankental locos were changed between DB and CSD. Here is a film I made during the meeting. David, the Halford paints are these acrylics or email paints? And the Alfa Romeo 530 rosso red paint for your LMS Full Brake, you said it was mixed at Halfords. What did it cost? I ask because I visit the UK next month and maybe would visit a Halford store to paint some paint cans. Markus

Track Plans for North American Layouts
McRuss replied to trisonic's topic in USA & Canadian Railroads
Hello, I've got a modified MR plan from the december issue. It may be the plan for my future US layout in my small office/bookshelf room. It would be a double deck layout with a helix on the right side. I added some extra sidings and industry for more switiching potential, and I added a mine branch on the upper level, and a connection to a fiddle yard on the lower level. Markus -

Class 26 and Class 27 on the Isle of Skye Railway
McRuss commented on McRuss's blog entry in Isle of Skye Railway Blog
Hello Pete, the Class 27 uses a GraFar Class 33 chassis. And when I received the body of the 27 I lowered it about 2mm, but I thin more is not possible, because between the chassis and the body sits the DCC chip. Markus -
