  1. Hi all, A search on YouTube finds videos showing how you can install most varieties of Sound Decoders in a variety of locos. Whilst these are useful - some do miss small details that can make the difference between a working decoder and a cooked decoder. Fortunately I didn't make the mistake of just doing as the video shows. I benefit from having DecoderPro and Sprog available for checks prior to putting anything near DCC full power! Thanks
  2. Hi Phil, There is a drop in sound board for the Atlas GP40-2 available from Soundtraxx. It only takes 10 minutes to install the decoder then you need to find a home for the speaker. I've changed the normal Soundtraxx speaker to a sugar cube one which fits into the cab. You will also need to replace the lights as there is no room for the supplied lighting fittings. I'm currently working on some new lighting boards to replace these but, due to other commitments, it's not progressing very quickly. Thanks
  3. Hi Chris, I do have an Intermountain U18B as well and it's sound fitted Something else to put in the pile to take to the show! Thanks
  4. Hi Chris, You must have be stalking my buying pattern for the last year or so... Now you have a P&W unit as well! Which model/manufacturer though - Intermountain U18B I reckon! Thanks
  5. Hi Chris, Funny coincidence - I just happen to have one sat ready to go! Thanks
  6. Hi all, Where are all the photos of the Coal Sector livery ones? Please post some.... Thanks
  7. Hi Chris, All this activity leaves an open question - just hanging and begging to be answered! What size will the layout be by the time it gets to Glasgow? Need to let Ian know as soon as possible before the nice little gap sites that are spare at present get filled in... Thanks
  8. Hi Intercity, Accepting how skewed most male colour perception is... Have a look here:- http://www.w3.org/TR/css3-color/#svg-color Should be about Forest/Fern green going by my eyes Thanks
  9. Hi Sub, I have this ongoing at the moment - it's not a straight fit. I have removed all the underframe details off the CL150 chassis and will be attaching the detail to them once I have made them fit together! I will be trying to make the body and chassis a tight fit so that they don't need any fastening together. A work in progress! A work in parts - certainly! Thanks
  10. Hi all, Missed it! None left in stock by the time I finished work and go to my local model shop... Sad to see that some people are going to instantly repaint the nice blue NCB one into orange! Look guys - leave the blue one to those who want one and wait for the red/orange one to repaint - it will ne a lot easier. Thanks
  11. Hi Mal, Tony's Trains are listing them as available... http://www.tonystrains.com/products/esu_loksound_select.htm Thanks
  12. Hi Mark, Just be sure to bring it to Falkirk... Thanks
  13. Hi all, Love the video... The horn sounds like it's maxing out the amplifier and causing the speaker to make the distortion even worse. Very difficult to set up a decoder to give a good horn sound. I'm playing with the Soundtrax to see if I can reduce a similar effect. How long before we get sound decoders with bass and tweeter outputs? Just an idea! Thanks
  14. Hi Mal, Just go onto You Tube and type Soundtraxx or Tsunami into the search index.... Brings up plenty of videos to look through. Hope this helps....
  15. Hi Mal, I have Soundtraxx Tsunami and MRC Sound Decoders. I'm already wishing that I'd waited for the Loksound to be available before I started buying. Even with DecoderPro and Sprog programming the Soundtrax seems to rely totally on luck. The MRC are a bit easier to do. None of them are as easy as a Loksound is to program! Choice is always the thing. However, I prefer the sound out of the Soundtraxx compared to the MRC decoders! Thanks
  16. Hi Chris, Nasty! Not... This was the first of my sound chipped locos and it showed. However - it's been tidied up and now has a different decoder with a sugar cube speaker. Really sounds the part - even audible over the ride on train that we had behind the layout. Thanks
  17. Hi Chris, I have what you want - but it's not for sale! But I'll let you borrow it at Modelrail 2014 Thanks
  18. Hi Mark, That reminds me... We still need to find a higher value resistor for the RETB Blue Signal lights! I had forgotten about this until I saw the photo of the DRS CL37. Thanks
  19. Hi Chris, There was me thinking you were joking about creating a 'PanAm'ish layout! You need to slow down a bit... 48 hrs from being a sheet of mdf to being a layout baseboard - that's crazy. Thanks
  20. Hi Andy, Rannoch Moor is coming to an exhibition near you! Will be at DEMU Showcase first weekend in July.... http://www.demu.org.uk/showcase.php Looks like you should have this in your diary. Thanks
  21. Hi Bill, No problem... The 'Mad DEMU's' plus some RMWeb members will be running trains and providing the full support crew for Mark. I won't be - I'll be too busy in the Treaurers Office again..... Thanks
  22. Hi Mark, 44932 is quite OK for the West Highland! Several occasions, several railtours over the years. Something like this... http://farm7.staticflickr.com/6209/6133814289_bcfdf13b83_z.jpg Glasgow Central. or this:- http://www.flickr.com/photos/37542644@N04/6144069109/ Nr Beattock Thanks
  23. Hi Jamie, Come and see it live at:- Modelrail Glasgow 2013! http://www.modelrail-scotland.com/ Plus lots of other stuff as well....... Thanks
  24. Hi Peter, Never mind the trains! This is the shot that conveys the whole feel of the area for me! http://www.flickr.com/photos/82110268@N06/8251435651/ Thanks
  25. Hi Kev, There are words to describe you and your actions on this posting.... Then - words defy a description! As if Mark has not got enough to sort out before the show... Then you give him another challenge? So - Will this combination of locos and working appear at Glasgow? You will have to attend to find out..... www.modlerail-scotland.co.uk for more details! Thanks ps - stop giving hints/suggestions what we might/might not be working on!
