  1. Hi Sub, I have this ongoing at the moment - it's not a straight fit. I have removed all the underframe details off the CL150 chassis and will be attaching the detail to them once I have made them fit together! I will be trying to make the body and chassis a tight fit so that they don't need any fastening together. A work in progress! A work in parts - certainly! Thanks
  2. Hi all, Missed it! None left in stock by the time I finished work and go to my local model shop... Sad to see that some people are going to instantly repaint the nice blue NCB one into orange! Look guys - leave the blue one to those who want one and wait for the red/orange one to repaint - it will ne a lot easier. Thanks
  3. Hi Mal, Tony's Trains are listing them as available... http://www.tonystrains.com/products/esu_loksound_select.htm Thanks
  4. Hi Mark, Just be sure to bring it to Falkirk... Thanks
  5. Hi all, Love the video... The horn sounds like it's maxing out the amplifier and causing the speaker to make the distortion even worse. Very difficult to set up a decoder to give a good horn sound. I'm playing with the Soundtrax to see if I can reduce a similar effect. How long before we get sound decoders with bass and tweeter outputs? Just an idea! Thanks
  6. Hi Mal, Just go onto You Tube and type Soundtraxx or Tsunami into the search index.... Brings up plenty of videos to look through. Hope this helps....
  7. Hi Mal, I have Soundtraxx Tsunami and MRC Sound Decoders. I'm already wishing that I'd waited for the Loksound to be available before I started buying. Even with DecoderPro and Sprog programming the Soundtrax seems to rely totally on luck. The MRC are a bit easier to do. None of them are as easy as a Loksound is to program! Choice is always the thing. However, I prefer the sound out of the Soundtraxx compared to the MRC decoders! Thanks
  8. Hi Chris, Nasty! Not... This was the first of my sound chipped locos and it showed. However - it's been tidied up and now has a different decoder with a sugar cube speaker. Really sounds the part - even audible over the ride on train that we had behind the layout. Thanks
  9. Hi Chris, I have what you want - but it's not for sale! But I'll let you borrow it at Modelrail 2014 Thanks
  10. Hi Mark, That reminds me... We still need to find a higher value resistor for the RETB Blue Signal lights! I had forgotten about this until I saw the photo of the DRS CL37. Thanks
  11. Hi Chris, There was me thinking you were joking about creating a 'PanAm'ish layout! You need to slow down a bit... 48 hrs from being a sheet of mdf to being a layout baseboard - that's crazy. Thanks
  12. Hi Andy, Rannoch Moor is coming to an exhibition near you! Will be at DEMU Showcase first weekend in July.... http://www.demu.org.uk/showcase.php Looks like you should have this in your diary. Thanks
  13. Hi Bill, No problem... The 'Mad DEMU's' plus some RMWeb members will be running trains and providing the full support crew for Mark. I won't be - I'll be too busy in the Treaurers Office again..... Thanks
  14. Hi Mark, 44932 is quite OK for the West Highland! Several occasions, several railtours over the years. Something like this... http://farm7.staticflickr.com/6209/6133814289_bcfdf13b83_z.jpg Glasgow Central. or this:- http://www.flickr.com/photos/37542644@N04/6144069109/ Nr Beattock Thanks
  15. Hi Jamie, Come and see it live at:- Modelrail Glasgow 2013! http://www.modelrail-scotland.com/ Plus lots of other stuff as well....... Thanks
  16. Hi Peter, Never mind the trains! This is the shot that conveys the whole feel of the area for me! http://www.flickr.com/photos/82110268@N06/8251435651/ Thanks
  17. Hi Kev, There are words to describe you and your actions on this posting.... Then - words defy a description! As if Mark has not got enough to sort out before the show... Then you give him another challenge? So - Will this combination of locos and working appear at Glasgow? You will have to attend to find out..... www.modlerail-scotland.co.uk for more details! Thanks ps - stop giving hints/suggestions what we might/might not be working on!
  18. Modelrail Glasgow - 2013...

  19. Wishes he could comment on some peoples status updates!

  20. Hi F-Unit, Whilst I agree with the comments about this layout in n and about Menasha in HO... Where does RS Tower fit in this perspective? Please note - not trying to cause difficulties - just trying to establish a UK sliding scale on US based model layouts! Thanks
  21. Hi all, Once again - Clive is being too modest.... Along with Monty Wells, Mike Edge and Tim Shackleton he was ont of the pioneers of the renaissance of diesel modelling. So - because he won't blow his own trumpet - I will........ Thanks
  22. Hi Clive, Stop being so modest....... For anyone who is old enough to remember - this was the start of the mould breaking attitude and approach to 'Modern Image' layouts. Yes - it was out on the exhibition circuit Yes - it was in the model railway press Yes - it was a big influence on a lot of the budding modellers at the tiem. Yes - it broke new ground in 'Modern Image' modelling. No - I don't have any photos of it! Thinking back - that's a surprise to me. Then I remembered - I didn't have a digital camera and I was always tight about printing off real film stock! If I remember rightly - Clive has a lot more photos though....... Thanks
  23. Hi Kenton, I would agree that the range of 'Autumn Hues' is not available to suit the British scene. Even the Woodland Scenics and Bachmann trees etc that fall into this category are originally designed for the US market and therefore not really suitable. I'll keep working on Steve and Sara to see what they are able to do to make some more 'British Autumn' scenics and trees - Watch this space! Correct - Gordon Gravetts book are essential for making your own trees although I still have the article from Model Railways that Chris ??? wrote about trees for a layout and keep on refering back to it for information when I get stuck. Thanks
  24. Hi all, Yes - Indeed - The Model Tree Company does have a range of trees in autumnal or fall colours. These are available in a range of sizes. Several of this range can be seen in the recent photos of Haston Vt on this forum. They are also listening to what people request... For a different project I asked about gorse bushes - both in flower and not in flower. From the time of the request to receiving a sample of each was less than 6 weeks. Knowing what I've been suggesting in the recent period - I wouldn't be surprised to see some other items appearing that should be intersting to all - not just me! Yes - I have asked for Maple trees..... In all seasons colours - oc course! As for 'a bit New Englandy' - suits Haston perfectly then... Thanks
  25. Hi Kenton, Here's what I've done with the Larger trees from The Model Tree Shop. As they come I find them too regular in shape - so I decided to give them a work over. Still need a bit more work till I'm happy with them! Thanks
