  1. By way of neutralising Scott's violations of this thread. Illustrious, one of Exford's finest positions its train for unloading in the warehouse on Sunday morning.B) 50037 idles away with its 'sweet music' audible to all whilst its train is unloaded.
  2. Mark Don't suppose you're coming down for the Whitsun weekend as we are at the New Forest Show in Brockenhurst May 28-29th?
  3. Evening gents. Just back from an enjoyable first day at Wilton with the Leaford crew and thought I'd post some pics of the Exford locos 'on tour'. 'Eastleigh' sets the crane back into the stabling road as a Class 158 unit arrives from Bristol. 37671 alongside 33008 as it sets back onto its train. The Crompton still awaits clearance from the siding as a 4-CIG unit arrives from Brighton. A busy afternoon at Leaford. 33202 The Burma Star waits to leave with a scrap train. An overall view of the layout in place at Wilton.
  4. Looking forward to the Wilton show with the Leaford crew.

  5. Hi Kevin, safely back from Jersey then, a good time had by all I hope? Liking the look of the electric unit is it all calibrated up for next week? I'm looking forward to another weekend's operating and hearing about Scott's 'new' plans.
  6. Hi again Leon I think we all go through periods where we seem to lose interest when other things take up too much time, I've been there since Christmas almost, but its a good feeling when something gives you the kickstart you needed. The latest pictures look great and I'm sure you will enjoy just 'playing' for a while now the trains have somewhere to go. Keep going fella and keep the pictures coming, your audience awaits!
  7. Leon Why not put a cheap Vitrains chassis/motor under it? Layout pics looking as good as ever, its also about time I posted an update!
  8. I can still remember from my early spotting days in the 80s pairs of 37s passing through Basingstoke en route to Micheldever.B)
  9. You could PM Kevin through the site although he doesn't frequent the site as much as some of us! Or feel free to PM myself and I will pass on a message. Where were you thinking of asking him to attend as he doesn't travel too far from Andover if he can help it.
  10. Pete Have a look at recent posts on Leaford thread, Kevin has the very train you're talking about I think.
  11. Well its been nearly 18 months since I last posted so this is the current state of play at Exford Park. 50003 Temeraire. RNSE (light). Renumbered/weathered from Lion. 50007 Sir Ted GW150. Added new plates with black backgrounds and weathered. 50024 Vanguard RNSE (dark). Renumbered from 50045. 50031 Hood Blue LL. Lightly weathered. 50036 Victorious Blue LL. Renumbered/weathered from 50035. 50037 Illustrious ONSE renumbered from 50048 with livery corrected, weathered and sound fitted. 50046 Ajax Blue LL black roof. Renumbered from another 50035. Sound fitted and needs some weathering to complete. 50050 Fearless RNSE (light). To be renumbered from another Lion. Still awaiting its time! I will try to get some photos of the fleet posted soon.
  12. I will getting one of these at some point to put outside my main shed. When I took photos at Buxton there was one there and I assumed it was oil to power the shed heaters or such like.
  13. Unfortunately not, I forgot the camera on both days. However, I know Kevin took some and Scott took some with his phone, also there seemed to be people taking photos constantly today so keep an eye out. You would be most welcome anytime at a show, there's always room for a novice. Maybe you could spend a weekend in the New Forest with your good lady wife Spring Bank holiday weekend as we are exhibiting again 28-29th May in Brockenhurst and we will also be at the Wilton show 7-8th May. As for the bridge, no plasticard was used only 3mm MDF clad in card, if you look back through my ramblings it is explained and there pics before and after the card was added.
  14. The 56 got back to South Wales quickly we've been driving '032 around the Leaford area on steel trains all weekend! Great work again Leon but what happened to the sky??
  15. Back home with a cuppa after a thoroughly enjoyable two days of intensive operation on Leaford, all worked superbly as usual and the only problems were caused by the operators! A very big thank you to Kevin for allowing me to play with his trains and I hope that myself and Scott didn't hog the controls too much? Roll on the May date at Wilton where we will do it all again. Thanks again Kevin.
  16. Hi Arnie Did you make yourself known, I wasn't aware you were there? A good day all round for the 'Leaford on the road crew' after some early teething troubles caused by exhibition rustiness! Looking forward to another crack at it tomorrow. If you're an RMwebber please say hello, its great to put faces to the monikers.
  17. I had my practice run yesterday afternoon and can report the layout is running well and looking great with its new additional fiddle roads allowing a lot more stock to be accommodated. All those coming to see us please make yourself know to one of us as we all love a chat, and you never know Kevin might even let you play with his toys! Heh Kevin did that 37 go backwards through the Eastleigh washer last night?
  18. Well happy just back from the Den and the Premier League pretenders put in their place!

  19. looking forward to the Basingstoke show with the Leaford on the road crew.

  20. I thought you'd been a bit quiet. That Dorset helicopter gets about doesn't it! You weren't looking for your modelling mojo again were you? Layout looks great by the way Leon, those lights are making me think as well!
  21. Hi Darren Are you coming Sat or Sun? Be sure to make yourself known as it will be good to meet you and have a natter.
  22. Looking forward to it Kevin, have we any details of the set up times etc? Should we try an Rmweb meet again at Leaford?? Not had any modelling time myself for a few weeks now so it will be nice to spend all weekend playing trains, I must get that 37 prepared as well.
  23. Richie I just used paint thinners on tissue for the large areas and a cotton bud for the nooks and crannies, and it all came off pretty well as you can see from the attached photo of 50024. The other thing to note is the lower bodyside grey is too light on the '45 model and I painted it with Railmatch NSE grey. Vanguard is still awaiting my own weathering attention despite this photo being a year old!
  24. Hi Leon Looks like the Welsh rain has cleaning properties if that arrival from Bocott is anything to go by. Haven't commented on your layout for a while but its coming on superbly and I know what you mean about others spurring you on, I've just come down from the loft myself as Scott is putting me to shame with his progress recently.
  25. Oh dear, time to worry! I suspect she's planning or has already been on a shopping trip, you know, new dress, new bag, shoes etc! Have to say this project now is beginning to come together rather well, and the new warm enviroment will hopefully speed things along now. I'll be following with interest, now go and hide her credit cards quick.
