  1. I think you were dreaming aloud there Kevin! All looks good for next week as I see you've been busy with the dirt, must say the nose of the VEP looks much better with a bit of grime on it.
  2. Flying to Bangkok via bloody Istanbul because the company's tight!

  4. I think there's a law that says it should be on the bridge and not under it? Great pics as always keep them coming.
  5. I'm sure it could be, just let me get back from Italy first! Like the look of that EPB by the way, I'll maybe have to get one of those and a VEP perhaps. I wonder where I could store a 3rd rail layout?
  6. Are you joking, from what I've seen so far I reckon there might be one or two of us on here that disagree!
  7. Dave have a look at page 6 post 143 on my thread to see how I did it last year as well, it didn't take long and makes a huge improvement. Sorry for the hijack Neil. Nice weathering by the way.
  8. Particularly as it's also been scrapped now!
  9. Hi Alex It was good to meet you on Saturday and I hope you had a good trip home. Nice to see the Grid in its new surroundings and looking forward to the external developments to the shed, and I'll let you know if I'm out your way.
  10. Spent an enjoyable day yesterday, or part of it at least, operating this superb layout and chatting with it's friendly team, and I even reread the RM article again this morning! Thanks again guys. Glenn you have a PM.
  11. I have one available that I could bring on Saturday if your interested.
  12. Looking forward to a day out on the West Somerset tomorrow, any one else??

      Absolutely. Count me in !

  13. Hi Paul, yes I did a reset of value 8 into CV number 8, and no difference unfortunately. Its not just the sound, the lights don't work and the loco doesn't run, as well as the Prodigy info sending LED flickering so I think it has failed. The loco itself is okay because it all functions with a Bachmann chip. I might drop the chip into Howes for confirmation but I think I'm one expensive chip down now!
  14. Cheers Kevin for the opportunity to play with your railway again and run some of my fleet, and thanks to all those that made the show possible. Unfortunately I think it was all too much for the sound chip inside the Burma Star as it no longer works today!
  15. Tell you what Phil, you're gonna get on well with Scott tomorrow.
  16. Look forward to meeting you there Phil, please make yourself known to all of us tomorrow.
  17. Tell you what Leon those backscenes are a triumph, they completely alter the look of the layout for the better and give it so much depth. Top marks fella.
  18. We've heard that one before, I'd better get a fan heater! I was in Dubai all last week and it didn't go below 42C so I'm sure our summer will be a breeze! Nothing to do with screws it was the driver's lack of route knowledge because every time he came round the corner the track layout was different.
  19. Looks good Peter, I'm sure we won't even notice the join soon. How's the extension coming on or is that on the backburner for now? Seeing your progress is maybe the kick I need to post an update on what I've been up to lately, maybe later when the football's finished!
  20. Melting in Dubai!

  21. You're right it has been a while, page 10 at the moment I think!! It just so happens I was painting my scratchbuilt fuelling points last night and as soon as they are finished and fitted I'll post an update as the stabling point is now all ballasted and weathered as well. Regards the fiddle yards, tight curves are okay 'off-scene' all my curves are 2nd or 3rd radius setrack curves and they don't give any trouble. Maybe just have one or two through roads to allow trains to pass, but can you not extend the dead end FYs by bending them around a curve as well if necessary? Remember its not a problem its an opportunity!! Just looked its dropped onto page 11 now.
  22. Hi Leon Great photos again fella. With regards to train lengths, is there no way of connecting the two fiddle yard ends together to give you twice the storage siding length? This would also give you the benefit of just allowing the trains go round while shunting elsewhere.
