  1. Model of Leysdown on the Sheppey Light Railway http://www.leysdown.org.uk and as featured in the April 2020 edition of Railway Modeller
  2. Is this confirmed? Both the visitor website page https://www.world-of-railways.co.uk/information/the-london-festival-of-railway-modelling and the trade website page https://www.warners-shows.co.uk/indoor-shows/the-london-festival-of-railway-modelling at the time of writing are still promoting the new dates of 22/23 August.
  3. Hi Martyn, I don't believe that either layout has appeared in the model railway press per se. However both appear extensively in Iain Rice's book Creating Cameo Layouts with Longwood Edge being a collaborative effort between Iain and Don Leeper.
  4. An ultra quick breakdown, load and trip home for Leysdown and its three operators - now to unload in the sunshine. And then a well earned pint of Bishops Finger!
  5. As featured in April's Railway Modeller to coincide with the York Show - we present Leysdown, a portrayal of the Sheppey Light Railway terminus in P4. Hope to be at the show next year - work on-call depending! Happy Easter
  6. All SE&CR liveried versions sold out - only the early SR Brown livery ones can now be pre ordered on the Rail's website. https://railsofsheffield.com/groups/3034/se-cr-16-covered-goods-wagon
  7. From the website it looks like the SE&CR Light Grey versions with "normal" doors now sold out.
  8. The new dates are on the world-of-railways website: https://www.world-of-railways.co.uk/information/the-london-festival-of-railway-modelling "Warners Shows have decided to cancel the London Festival of Railway Modelling, 21-22 March 2020. We pride ourselves on delivering outstanding events to the hobby and this decision was not reached lightly, but the right one for the health and safety of all involved. Naturally, we are all very disappointed. We have secured a new date (22/23 August 2020) - more details will follow in May. Thank you to all the sponsors, exhibitors, layouts, societies and visitors for their continued support for the show during these exceptional circumstances. We will shortly be making contact with everyone who is involved in the show to organise transfers / refunds."
  9. Dear All, The 2020 Chiltern Model Railway Exhibition photographic retrospective has just been uploaded to the Association's website. https://cmra.org.uk/stevenage20.html Also uploaded are the preliminary details for next year's Stevenage show https://cmra.org.uk/exhibition.html
  10. Thought you might be interested in a picture of Jeff Day's model of Sandford & Banwell's station master's house which is on his 4mm/ft scale P4 layout based on the station.
  11. A couple of pictures of Sandford & Banwell in the College's theatre. From above - 18ft x 12ft. From three quarters - viewing on three-ish sides.
  12. The team were pleasantly surprised to be awarded The Founder's Cup at Southampton considering the other layouts that were there - we understand it was a close call with the excellent Calderwood. We were extremely well looked after - with tea and biscuits just down the corridor. The next outing is scheduled to be the Derby show in the Roundhouse on the 9th & 10th May - after that we don't have any other exhibitions confirmed. A couple of photographs of the layout at the weekend. From above - 18ft x 12ft From three quarters - viewing on three-ish sides
  13. I think we are going to be in the theatre space - look forward to meeting you.
  14. The team are looking forward to attending with Sandford & Banwell. Photo Tony Wright

  16. Hi Geoff, I thought so when making the original posting which is why the entry has it as being "exhibited" by the N Gauge Society. The layout list is as given to me by the Exhibition Manager and as such has the layout forming part of the N Gauge Society stand. Unfortunately the information given makes no mention of the Bentley MRG but does have the layout as being ex Grahame Hedges - the original builder. I have updated the OP and the CMRA website exhibition page to reflect ownership by the Bentley MRG.

The Leisure Centre is to the east of the railway station and has several ground level car parks. A little further away are the town's multi-storeys. The rates vary for the car parks shown with the most expensive ones being the two railway station ones - marked as RS and RN. If you wish to keep your car parking charges to a minimum it is best to visit on the Sunday where the rate for all the car parks - except for the railway station ones - is currently £2.00 for all day. Note the one marked P is reserved for exhibitors on the Saturday and Sunday. Please note the very large car parks to the west of the station - off the plan to the left - are for the Leisure Park, not the Leisure Centre, and although free for users of the Park will attract a PCN with a charge of £100 should you leave your car there and walk over the footbridge to the station and the exhibition venue.
  18. Finally uploaded the 2019 Uckfield Model Railway Exhibition retrospective to the Club's website. http://www.uckfieldmrc.co.uk/exhib19nf.html Hope the pictures give a flavour of the show. Initial information about the 2020 event has also been uploaded.
  19. Not yet in WH Smith at London Bridge today - which is usually one of the first to have it on their shelves.
  20. De Graafstroom which as well as the most votes in the Public vote also picked up the Keith Nock Memorial Trophy as the favourite layout of members, exhibitors and the trade. The layout from the Netherlands measures some 12ft long with a scenic section 10ft wide into the wings (7ft opening) x 3ft 10in deep. It goes from this: To this for transportation: The baseboard on the right, which is sitting in the lid of the transportation box, is lifted up and goes on top of the board on the left, sitting on its four peg feet. The lid is then put on and the whole thing then lifted onto the roof rack on the car - total weight box and layout is 35kg. The box has proved to be very watertight given the weather on Friday! More pictures will soon be published in the exhibition retrospective.
  21. Every layout polled at least one first place on a voting form thereby being at least someone's favourite. Top three were: 1) De Graafstroom (P87n3.5) by Vincent de Bode, Peter van der Kooij and Claude Moinier 2) Blueball Summit (British N) by Andrew Bartlett 3) Fen End Pit (16mm scale) by David Barham
  22. For those arriving early the Uckfield Civic Centre's newly refurbished restaurant 'Luxfords' will be opening at 9am each day serving bacon filled and sausage filled rolls along with tea/coffee. The restaurant will be open on both days. http://www.civiccentreuckfield.com/restaurant/?q=luxfords-restaurant.html
  23. Hi Andy, Excellent nine page article in the latest MRJ. Looking forward to seeing the layout this weekend at Uckfield. http://www.uckfieldmrc.co.uk/exhibition.html
  24. Two of the layouts appearing at the show, Blueball Summit and Midland in Bristol, feature heavily in the latest edition of Model Railway Journal (MRJ 274) which has just been published. Also Bottom Works Sidings appears in the Cameo Gems feature and elsewhere. There may be a few copies of MRJ 274 on sale at the show for those who don't have it on subscription and can't wait to find it in a WH Smiths - that is if the exhibitors don't beat you to them!
