  1. When I left home it was bright and sunny, now in Gloucester it's grey and miserable.
  2. Morning all. A quick visit before I go to Gloucester for my one job of the day. I'll try and look in a bit later to see what's happening. Have a good day everyone.
  3. A very early start tomorrow, so, night all
  4. A few of my Railex photos of BCB
  5. Morning all. A bit late on parade today but as there's not a great deal to do this isn't a problem. Gordon - That bottle brings back a few memories. I certainly don't remember it being fiery but time (and the consumption of quite a bit of it) dulls the memory. Ian - Looks like plan B was a masterstroke. I've never been to Avebury now somewhere else to add to my list of places to visit. Nice relaxing day. A walk in a while to take some photos and then a day of doing very little before a very early start tomorrow. Have a good day everyone
  6. Hi Peter and thanks for the input. The base boards are going to be built in the next few weeks after the test plank. There are a few cameo ideas that I'm working on but these will come later as I want to achieve the less is more type layout. Duncan
  7. Happy Birthday to Station Cat
  8. Nicely done Peter. A definite improvement.
  9. I've just been watching 1945: The Savage Peace on BBC2. This is definitely one part of European history that I was totally unaware of. Definitely worth watching on iplayer if you get a chance.
  10. This is going to take a couple of days to sort through the photos from Railex. First batch Harton Gill. An amazing level of detail has gone into this
  11. Morning all. Very late on parade today. Fortunately there is nothing major to achieve. Have a good day everyone
  12. Saw BCB for the first time in the flesh today. The photos don't do it justice. Really friendly crew and one that I would recommend seeing if you haven't already. Mike - Hope you enjoy the show. All of the layouts are outstanding. Thanks guys
  13. An excellent day at Railex although my wallet doesn't agree with me. It's now gone into hiding. Ian - Some how I missed you. Although I don't remember seeing any confused Americans or a Happy Hippo either John - It seems like you've landed on your feet with the site. I hope that the rest of the time continues to be as good.
  14. An excellent day at Railex. The standard of every layout was exceptional. Met Jason and had some long conversations and my wallet is now in hiding. I also saw BCB in the flesh for the first time. To be honest the photos don't do it justice. Lots of photos taken, some of which I'll post on here and the relevant threads when I've had chance to sort through them. I also had a chat with several members of the BCB crew and came away with solutions to some of the ideas I've had about adding some height to HA.
  15. I'm waiting for the holes in the grass to appear when the rabbits detonate the land mines
  16. I've managed to arrive at Railex early. Makes a change for the traffic to be light on a bank holiday weekend. There's already a queue forming.
  17. Morning all. An early start today for Railex. After 2 days in the classroom (which were worth it) I'm looking forward to being somewhere different today. Jock - I hope you recover enough to enjoy the motor sport over the weekend. Have a good day everyone
  18. Evening Chris. I think I've now got to the point where ideas are small details. My biggest problem is the potential damage to my wallet. As you know from last weekend some of it is already allocated and there are now more things on the shopping list
  19. Van fuelled, camera ready including spare battery, list of traders, purchases and layouts printed ready for Railex tomorrow. The only thing I have to find now is my wallet. It was last seen running away.
  20. Richard - I certainly hope to find you at Railex. You shouldn't be too hard to find going by the description
  21. Morning all. Forgot to post first thing. In the classroom again today but hopefully an early finish after the exams. I'm going to Railex tomorrow and hope to catch up with a few people. Ian, if you make it I certainly hope to meet you. Have a good day everyone
  22. That certainly had me laughing for a few minutes. Now I remember what I've been missing by not going to the TT.
  23. Thanks Andy. Totally agree with you about the area. It looks like I might have a couple of days next week when I can explore the area further and get some more detailed shots
  24. Thanks Brian. It's going to be interesting to see how the production run goes
