      Thanks! Bless you.

  2. Yes, A few years ago also a couple of dirty adult book shops and Brains Brewery! Dave
  3. I've had a quick look at Hattons using Firefox and Kaspersky - didn't receive any warnings. Dave
  4. Larry, Having seen your workrate on this thread by Boxing Day I would not be surprised to see pictures of this coach fully assembled, painted and in operational condition :) Merry Christmas, Dave
  5. There are 5 Kindles registered on my account, no problems at all. The only thing that may be a problem is two people reading the same book - when you go back to a book it automatically opens at the last page read. However if two are reading the same book albeit on different devices the auto syncing may point you at the wrong place. I am a big fan of Kindle, there are just about 500 books on my account. I particularly like some books that have been out of print for years or in some cases only ever available on Kindle. Dave

  7. Good Lord Q you left it late to buy a turkey - 'er indoors bought ours weeks ago :) :) She's just returned from shopping with a new large saucepan to boil the bacon joint in for the forthcoming festivities. She's put the old large saucepan saucepan in the rubbish, it belonged to her mother and must be sixty years old. And now to make you all jealous - she prefers to go shopping on her own and says I get under her feet when I go with her. Dave
  8. I didn't think there was much of a market for stolen surveying equipment so Ivan's idea is likely to be nearest the truth Dave
  9. In some final salary schemes e.g. British Gas you could lose all or part of your pension contributions if you were convicted of fraud or theft against the company; there was a rule in the scheme that permitted this. Saw it happen on more than one occasion when I worked as an internal auditor. Dave
  10. Talking of the winter of 62/63 I was in high school. Our buildings were Victorian and had been badly damaged in an air raid in 1941. The toilets were all outside, not indoor. The caretaker could only keep a couple from freezing so for the first three school weeks of January only the 5th and 6th forms were in, I was in the 4th form so had an extra three weeks off school. The school moved to new buildings the following September with indoor loos. I also remember the snow in 1982. I was on a course and staying in a hotel at Heathrow. Got up on a Friday morning, last day of the course to find heavy snow. When the course finished just before 1 pm I drove back to Cardiff, it took 7 hours and I don't think I got into 4th gear. The Severn Bridge closed not long after I went over it! It's cold in the capital of the Principality today but no snow, Cheers, Dave
  11. Love the sound Larry, However I was completely taken by the superb weathering of the autocoach! Cheers, Dave
  12. The first picture (Birthday card) - I looked just like that lad as a boy with my NHS tortoiseshell goggles  Dave
  13. The new version of Firefox FF57 "Quantum" came out on Tuesday. I am having no problems with RMWeb though I don't use a touchscreen. Also some legacy plugins don't work with FF57, notably "NoScript", though an updated version of this is promised for the end of the week. HTH Dave
  14. SWMBO came home with a frozen turkey ready for Christmas yesterday!
  15. At one time to be baptised a Catholic at least one of your Forenames had to be that of a Saint. This rule was abandoned many years ago. It seems this priest was not familiar with Irish Saints and believe me there are many of them with names you may never have heard. Dave
  16. Strewth, it's not Easter already is it? :) Keep the pictures coming! Dave
  17. Just spent a few days in York and there are 353 posts on this thread to be read. Sorry folks that ain't going to happen so may I sincerely wish generic congratulations or commiserations as appropriate to you all. Off to see the Cardiff show tomorrow, Warmest Regards, Dave
  18. Bob, Had exactly the same problem when I changed from OVO in August. The electricity was finalised quickly but the gas took almost four weeks. I had separate final bills for each fuel, however my large credit balance was refunded quickly once the gas bill was finalised. Incidentally one thing that did annoy me was their annual energy statement - the annual gas consumption in Kwh was overstated by 30%, though the individual bills and charges were fine. Would not go back to them. Dave
  19. My Dad had one as well LTG557D in two tone grey, had an A55 before that. Dave

  22. Larry, Knowing your prodigious work rate, bearing in mind you posted pictures of the coaches almost three hours ago, why haven't we seen pictures of the sprayed, lined and numbered coaches yet? :) :) Seriously I have nothing but admiration for the diversity and quality of your craftsmanship. Dave
  23. Loved the sound Larry, but what really caught my eye was the weathering of the wagons - they looked as grotty as a remember for the 1950s Dave
  24. I hope that the RMWeb thread flourishes as it's a really lovely model. At least on here we are lucky to have Andy Y and the Mods (sounds like a pop group) who will jump on any untoward posts with a large pair of size twelves. Warmest regards, Dave
  25. Welcome back Sparky, I'd forgotten what a truly cracking layout this is - please keep the photos coming Dave p.s. Don't let the b@st@rds grind you down
