  1. Thanks, Mike Trice for fixing the pic. It wasn't snow, but a great deal of hail. There was also thunder and lightning. Very, very frightening.
  2. Yes, I'm sorry. I didn't mean to transport Hampton Loade to Australia, but don't know how to put it right.
  3. TT wasn't all fine weather yesterday.
  4. Was it an original Morelands box or the later Bryant & May?
  5. Mary had a little lamb. She also had a duck. She put them on the mantelpiece To see if they would fall off.
  6. Absolutely. It's not American at all. '-ize' has always been the spelling preferred by the Oxford University Press. '-ise' is used at Cambridge. Come on the Dark Blues.
  7. My daughter lives two minutes walk from West Drayton (and Yiewsley!) Station, and until very recently taught at Cranford. She couldn't get to work by train, however. I too have a Yiewsley Grange but green and with the SS insignia shirtbutton roundel on the tender.
  8. Yiewsley Grange must be very close to North Cranford.
  9. Now why does that make me think of Pat Mustard? http://img2.thejournal.ie/inline/2058954/original/?width=623&version=2058954
  10. I don't find it noticeable from normal viewing distance, or even close up with the naked eye. However, since reading here about the coupling rods, every time I see the loco trundling around the track, I have a mental picture of the plywood loco in 'The Titfield Thunderbolt'.
  11. If the photographer here had stood a little further back, or cropped his print differently, you might have had your answer. http://www.warwickshirerailways.com/gwr/gwrsa3194.htm
  12. They have been fitted inside out, though, haven't they? The NEM pockets are facing inwards. They would look much better reversed because the pivot is off-centre.
  13. Given my forum name, I must add Godfrey Tearle.
  14. Here is an example of the Stafford Road model. As you can see, I found it very hard to get the tank sides smooth enough for the lettering to stick.

  16. Those Baths were awful. I had to go during my first year at grammar school. Gloucester Baths were much better; you could watch trains from the deep end. http://www.visit-gloucestershire.co.uk/wp-content/uploads/2012/11/Baths_view.jpg You can see the raised barriers of Barton Street level crossing in the centre background.
