  1. Not sure if this has been mentioned before, but Hattons are showing delivery dates of April/June for the early GWR and July/September for the later GWR and BR versions. http://www.ehattons.com/173655/Oxford_Rail_OR76DG001_Class_2301_Dean_Goods_0_6_0_2309_in_Great_Western_green/StockDetail.aspx http://www.ehattons.com/173657/Oxford_Rail_OR76DG003_Class_2301_Dean_Goods_0_6_0_2475_in_Great_Western_green/StockDetail.aspx http://www.ehattons.com/173656/Oxford_Rail_OR76DG002_Class_2301_Dean_Goods_0_6_0_2409_in_BR_Black_with_early_emblem/StockDetail.aspx
  2. Also in stock at Hereford Model Centre: http://herefordmodels.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=290&products_id=8099
  3. I don't know the answer, but I know the reason (I'm from Gloucestershire); it's so they can be recognized by their own side, because 'The Glosters don't retreat'.
  4. I left about twenty-five years ago, but I worked with Ralph Bowden (the priest in the photo) when he was at Trevethin. All very different to-day; you used to be able to walk along Pontymoile Viaduct from Pontypool to Griffithstown.
  5. Very tempted now; the earlier version, I think, had the partition walls raised above the level of the roof, which looked very 'London'.
  6. Neal, Have you thought of this motorising kit? It relies on visual alignment of the tracks with each use, which might be poblematic if the turntable is at the back of the layout. However it has proved better in use than the previous version, which used plastic gears which kept dropping out of alignment. http://locomotech.com/index.html
  7. 1942, according to the book on oil traffic by rail which the HMRS were selling off at Warley.
  8. Don't tell me I'm still on that fecking island.
