  1. Thanks Arthur, Youve made a very tidy job. Gordon A
  2. Arthur, What is the origin of the cobbles /sets in your picture (#512)? Gordon A Bristol
  3. I would use a kettle of boiling water poured over the kit while held in a sieve or bowl. The white metal should expand breaking the super glue bond. IME this method works on runny superglue, but not on superglue gel. I think there are substances that unstick fingers stuck together with super glue. Gordon A Bristol
  4. Thanks bigherb and newbryford. Is Tim H on DEMU the same as Tim H on this forum? I understand that you have to be a member to gain access to the DEMU forum. Gordon A Bristol
  5. Would some one please provide me with the measurement between the inside faces of the outside frames please. I am thinking of a P4 conversion. Gordon A Bristol
  6. Richard L and myself ordered a couple of NCB Sentinels from that well known model shop in Portishead before Christmas. Their web site suggests they will be back in stock on the 06/03/2014. Gordon A Bristol
  7. I am surprised that no one, that I am aware of, has had some pots cast in resin or whitemetal designed to take plastic C&L / P4 Track comp chairs. Gordon A Bristol
  8. Neal, Your post 329 of the 28/12/13 showing Perkasa 8, what is the half oil drum thing on the rear bonnet, left hand side at the back? Gordon A Bristol.
  9. Hi PMP, Many thanks for the information. Converting to P4 could be a fiddly job, which might lead to a scratch built chassis and High level gearbox?? I will have to be patient until the NCB one I have ordered arrives. Gordon A Bristol
  10. An excellent review by Albion Yard. Can anyone tell me what the axle diameter is please? Gordon A Bristol
  11. I was stuck in that traffic que. I left Avonmouth at 16:45 and finally got home at St Annes at 19:30. My home journey is normally 45 minutes. I understand that the swing bridge was jammed open due to an electrical fault. They finally hand cranked it shut by 04:30 am! Once on the Portway there are no turnings off untill you get to the suspension bridge which takes you up to Clifton. The lack of action by the council / police to close the Portway off and divert traffic was a disgrace! Gordon A Bristol
  12. Hi Mike, I enjoyed chatting with you on Saturday. I have attached a couple of photographs of the Bag O Nails pub in Bristol, which were taken this morning. Gordon A Bristol
  13. The ground signal on the main line could be an indication of area and era. You cold have changeable plug in signal boxes to match the stock. This looks like an interesting project. Gordon A Bristol
  14. And what looks like a steam crane in the picture as well! Gordon A Bristol
  15. Can we see more of your range of kits please? Gordon A Bristol
  16. Robert, I dont know how far you are from Elsecar but I believe there is one there being used as a donor for an earlier version. Hopefully see you at Aylesbury S4UM Gordon A Bristol
  17. Ernie, I do not know which variety of Lowmac Hornby are producing, but if you can identify the origin and version of the prototype there may be one in use on a heritage railway that could be photographed. Is your Lowmac supposed to be vacum braked? Gordon A Bristol
  18. How different were the procedures for crippled wagons in the 50's and 60's? Gordon A Bristol
  19. The two halves have been moved from Bitton yard to the quarry north about 300 yards north. This area is not accesible to the public. The tender chassis is in the process of being overhauled. The 8F and the gangwayed Fowler tender have been moved to Chedleton. Gordon A Bristol
  20. I would have said that as far as I can see the train to the left of the Sentinel is made up of single bolsters? Gordon A Bristol
  21. You will need at least four uncouplers unless you change to delayed action couplings. If you can curve, or rotate the whole design, so that the end of the headshunt is at or nearly at right angles to the end of the baseboard, you could extend your track to off scene cassettes, small fiddle yard or another scenic section at a later date. Looking interesting whith some nice space between the sidings for vehicle access and possible a small goods shed / provender store. Gordon A Bristol
  22. If you have started on your baseboard I hope you have finalised your plan? With a bit of thought some features such as rivers / brooks/ canals and high level scenery are best accomodated in the base board design rather than an add on at a later stage. Gordon A Bristol
  23. If you add preheaters to the water tanks you could get problems with conventional injectors which require cold water to work. One in jector could be replaced with a pump on the running plate. Gordon A Bristol
  24. Yes, the driver stands a chance of seeing the buffers meet at the front end, the rear end is not so bad as he can stick his head out of the cab and see the rear buffers. Gordon A Bristol
