  1. I'm exactly the same Trev that's why I want to move my layout on and I've got to pick up those bits from your mum's as soon as I can but we've still got the builders here building the extension. Cheers Colin
  2. Having tidied the layout up ready for a potential sale that has fell through sadly . So I'm looking at other options now for the layout as I don't really want to break it apart.
  3. All of the coaches had gone as I was tempted the other day typical really I should have bought them then. Cheers Colin
  4. Popped into Ian Allan today in Birmingham and they have several steam locos on the bargains table such as Bachmann Webb coal tanks at £70 x 9 in stock, D11/2 LNER black now at £95 each x 10 in stock, Ivatt 4mt 2-6-0 Now at £80 x 4 in stock.
  5. I can assure anyone the service won't be happening before December at the very earliest there is over 100 drivers and the same guatds to learn the route and that's just New St depot. I've heard a rumour that our depot won't be learning it so that's telling us we won't have cross city on our route card for long. And when it comes to OHLE being put up the Rugeley route well behind schedule I can't see that happening this year.
  6. That's just in the system now but nothing has been agreed for us drivers to learn the route so don't bank on any trains actually running yet pardon the pun.
  7. A couple of pics of the layout as it currently stands in the spare room. Sorry for the poor quality as they're taken on my phone. Cheers Colin
  8. Firstly apologies for the lack of updates and more seriously the lack of photo's I seriously lost my modelling mojo during February but it's back now with vengeance as there has been a load of scenic work carried out on the layout. As I managed to pick up a great bargain from Hattons with one of the Bachmann 2epb units. Also the semaphore signals have long gone (maybe for the next project) and I've installed a train-tech dcc colourlight signal which I'm very impressed with to be honest. All being well if I can find my camera as we are currently having an extension built and I've almost finished fitting the kitchen. I promise to upload some pics of the progress. Cheers Colin
  9. The return part of a railtours from Shrewsbury to Eastleigh at Birmingham New St lastnight.
  10. My hattons 2 epb turned up this morning only to be questioned by SWMBO is that another train dear. Oh well I like hospital food anyway Cheers Colin
  11. Right you lot stop hurting my bank balance this is really painful well it will be if SWMBO finds out.
  12. That's the old line to Leamington Spa via Southam but there maybe a slight problem it's now only single track and it's been shortened by some length according to that pic from 2010. Cheers Colin
  13. Was it just steam stock on the offers table I've not been in for a couple of weeks. Cheers Colin
  14. Losing interest with DCC sound so may have a couple of locos up for sale soon where could I advertise them I'm avoiding that well known auction site and faceache as I've had nothing but trouble with them in the past.

  16. I'm the same as the above I was tempted when Jim pointed it out but seen as SWMBO was off work at the time I resisted temptation until I was off this week.
  17. Thanks guys they're now down to 18 in stock and SWMBO is at work all next week and I'm off work all week so it can be sneaked in the house without the authorities knowing.
  18. I would love to get my layout Ashbridge which is modern image well sort of modern image it's set from 1975 to 1985 in print at some point seen as it's 95% complete (is a layout ever complete)? But as BRM is looking for all singing and dancing so to speak how do I know if my layout would be worthy. Sorry to hijack the thread but I think it may be a valid question. As others have mentioned before me. Over the last few editions in my opinion the magazine is going down the all steam route although there have been a few pieces which have been relevant to all eras. The Diesel/Electric layouts are few and far between and when one comes along in the magazine the layout is a monster in size terms what we need is the small modern era layouts to give inspiration to new modellers as not everyone has the same interest in steam operation. Many thanks Colin
  19. It's all systems go in our house one rear extension and fitting a kitchen out sadly no time for any modelling

  20. This may be a bargain for the O gauge modellers. https://mailchi.mp/railsofsheffield/heljanfalcons?e=a0f31efd6a Cheers Colin
  21. Well I've finally decided to move Ashbridge on but I'm not sure how much to ask for it. If anyone is after a layout that needs a little bit scenery work to complete the layout as everything else is complete the only thing that's not included is the NCE powercab as that's going to be used on the next project. So if anybody is slightly interested then please drop me a private message. Cheers Colin
  22. Well they better get some route learning done pretty dam soon as there's well over 200 drivers and guards to learn the route to Bromsgrove and sign it off so personally I think it won't be happening from May 2018 the same could be said for a route that we are learning currently and that supposed to be starting from the 19th February. Cheers Colin
  23. Another great video I'm seriously getting hooked on these now. Keep up the great work I'm looking forward to the next instalment. Cheers Colin
  24. Finished for the day shame it was a 0430 start now to find matchstick to keep my eyes open

  25. Was it really October when I last put a comment on here well I've had a a few jobs to do over Christmas around the house and of course playing trains on the 12inches to the foot scale layout. I'm now at the stage of considering moving Ashbridge on as I'm a little bit bored with it the electrics are complete the point motors for the fiddleyard are wired up but not yet operational and the scenics are about 80% done so it wouldn't take much to finish it off. I'm hoping to start something a bit smaller and I want to concentrate on a diesel depot/stabling point. I'll try and upload some recent photos photo's when I can grab 5mins to myself. Cheers Colin
