  1. That's about right for that trash newspaper they always take the credit for photos etc.... I wouldn't wipe my backside with trash they print on paper.
  2. DAS000601 brings back a lot of memories as my old man was a signaller in Chester 3a in the very early 80's. I can remember going with him on the afternoon shift and the odd visit on a Saturday afternoon watching all the classic BR blue diesels heading for the North Wales coast great times indeed and of course watching the steam specials around that time until he transferred down the road the Green Lane crossing box now that's a different story taking his lunch to him as we lived that close at that time. Great pictures keep them coming Cheers Colin

  6. Well after a few weeks of deciding what to do with a new TIm Horn baseboard that measures up at 4ft x 10ins I've decided to build a 4m scale branch line themed layout. Track will be C&L fine scale with some excellent hand built points I've laid the first section as a test piece as it's the first time I've glued the track down instead of track pins. I'm hoping to build two traversers 3ft x 10ins so I can run a decent operating sequence this time unlike my previous efforts on Ashbridge which is currently in my loft awaiting further developments. I'm looking at operating on the Western region in the North West and BR blue diesels set in a early 1980's theme. So the scenery will be carefully arrange so as not to date the layout to much. I'll hopefully try an upload a few pics when I get the chance. Cheers Colin
  7. Great to see your back on here Marcus I did see you back in April on the 50 tour I must say you showed us what the old girls are made of. It was a bit of a Rmweb meet up on-board as Jim was also floating about. Keep up the great work on the layout. Cheers Colin

  12. Onwards and upwards Jim all the best with your new venture with GBRf we may pass each other at some stage I'll keep an eye for you. I agree a bit disheartening when a manager can't be bothered to thank for your time effort. Cheers Colin

You have my sympathies... last night I was sent o na wild goose chase from Crewe to Beswcot with the wrong loco, had to turn back and take it back to Crewe before working the correct train, which nobody had the wit, intelligence or decency to tell me about!

  15. Sorry all you will get out of me is er No knowledge and I'm working this Sunday. Cheers Colin
  16. Look out for 323203 that should be the next unit for the new livery as it was being prepared inside the maintenance shed on Soho this morning. I had a sneaky look in the shed after I took a unit up there this morning. My guess is that it'll be used for the first public trip to Bromsgrove which starts on the 29th. Cheers Colin
  17. I saw that today I was tempted I may have another look on my pnb tomorrow morning seen as I'm home alone for the next 10days. No need for sneaking new stock in the house. Cheers Colin

  20. You could knock up some level crossing barriers as I noticed at the side of platform 5 at Birmingham International this morning there are some redundant level crossing barriers and motor housings they must have been there for years as it's been a few years since the crossings at Canley,Tile Hill and Berkswell have gone. And you could always have a small section of track with various track circuiting items attached for training and testing purposes there is a good example of this next to the old Coventry PSB I'll try and get a photo for you if it's possible. Cheers Colin
  21. Here's the last three pics of Ashbridge to be uploaded on this thread as I won't be continuing with the build of this layout. Im offering this up for sale as I need the space for the next layout project. I'll start a new thread when I make a start. If anybody wants to take this layout on then please message me for the details etc.. but the NCE powercab controller isn't included with the layout that's needed for the next project. I'll give it a week or so then I'll have no choice but to break Ashbridge up for scrap. Thank you for all the kind comments through the construction of Ashbridge. Cheers Colin
  22. All the very best in your new venture with GBRf depending on your new routes I may see you in passing a bit more literally. Hope to see you soon on the iron road. Cheers Colin
  23. A common thing that is Jim whilst your in the seat I could do with losing a few pounds. Cheers Colin
  24. So that was you giving it some at Coventry I was in booking point as you departed Coventry sounded very nice indeed. Good luck with the medical for GBRf. Cheers Colin
