  3. I'm after a couple of 100 ohm speakers for a couple of older Loksound V3.5 sound decoders ideally they should be able to fit inside a Bachmann class 25 and class 37. Many thanks Colin
  4. Please continue posting the pictures as the pics around the Chester area bring back so many memories from when I lived in Chester in the early 80's I've not commented because of my inferior knowledge as I was but a young boy back in the 80's but this is what gave me my interest in Railways. This thread is like a time machine for me so please continue. All the best Colin
  5. I'm preparing my vi trains 37 to have a fully detailed bufferbeams so the springs are not required if l can get them off without damage you can have them. Cheers Colin
  6. Many thanks for your advice I've tried the settings for the gaugemaster chip and its like a completely different loco it runs a dream now especially at slow speed. Although still a little noisy but once I've applied some lube to the gears that'll make it run better still. Many thanks again Colin
  7. Well I've finally given in an bought one of the hattons 14xx the heavy weathered BR versions. I also opted for a hattons 6pin decoder at the same time and to be honest im seriously considering sending it straight back as the running quality well if you can call it that is absolutely shocking. It moved about a scale 6ft and stopped then it did the same intermittently along the length of the layout in both directions. I first of all I changed the decoder for a gaugemaster 6pin decoder and the running slightly improved but not much. But worst of all the sound from the gears within the chassis is horrid it sounds rough and noisy. Does anybody have any remedies to fix these problems as it's such a shame as for me the detail is half decent and the weathering is how I'd like it. Cheers Colin
  8. Here we go again another fatality yesterday

  9. A main view of the scenic board. A favourite of mine 37427 with legomanbiffo 37 V4 sound decoder with the West Highland sounds. The bufferbeam detailing is almost complete on this end just the ETH socket to fit. Another favourite a detailed Bachmann 25 with lazerglaze glazing fitted and bufferbeam again almost completed. Thats all for today Cheers Colin
  10. Dam I'm stuck at home with my daughter I wont be able to get to Ian Allan until Monday. I wonder what the chances are of one being left. Cheers Colin
  11. Only had chance to upload this pic as I'm home alone with my daughter this weekend. I've started building a small control panel thats fixed to the back of the scenic board. I've cleaned the train and done a quick test run. I won't be able to work on the new layout now until Monday and I'm unable to go to Warley as dragging my 4yr old around isn't fair on the layout operators and the backpack brigade. Cheers Colin
  12. Well today before work I managed to wire in a DCC concepts digital point motor and wire up the frog and managed to get the motor to work correctly first time. I've made a start on the small platform/halt on the branchline by cutting all the plasricard formers to brace up the platform itself. Hopefully tomorrow time permitting before work I can spray the track colour pretty much the same as I did on Ashbridge. Also time permitting I will try and upload a pic or two of the stock for the layout and the layout itself. Cheers Colin
  13. Well Ashbridge will be on it's way to it's new home this morning and it won't be the last you'll see of it after some work on it I do believe it'll be on the exhibition circuit. Many thanks to everyone who's commented on the build of this layout. Cheers Colin
  14. A couple of pictures of the new project coming on really slowly. Cheers Colin
  15. I may have a couple of spares I'll have to have a look in the morning as im currently at work. I'll let you know via a PM. Cheers Colin
  16. I know in the old LM franchise we did have a revenue team in civvies especially around the West Mids. They may have started doing this again but that would be WMR and not LNWR I know its one company but thats another story. I've not heard anything from my colleagues regarding undercover revenue teams but I'll ask the question at work. Cheers Colin
  17. Ian Allan Birmingham have about 12 Bachmann birdcage coaches in the SE&CR green livery for £45 each. It might be a bargain for someone it's not my thing but I thought I'd pass the info on. (Sorry couldn't find the Birmingham bargain hunters thread) Cheers Colin
  18. There's two stations I can think of that are operated by WMR but have no WMR services these are Water Orton and Coleshill parkway.
  19. Seriously tempted to sell off all my 4mm stock and go O gauge.

  20. The title of this thread has tickled me slightly I mean the the quality of railway uniforms atleast some TOC's have a uniform we are still in the old Londonmidland uniform even though we've been West Midlands Trains for the best part of 10 months now and it's on it's last legs now we had been told that originally it would be August for delivery of the new uniform but its late and now December I'm personally embarrassed to be with this lot to be honest. And this new uniform well we still dont know if our depot is going to be LNWR (green) or West Mids (orange). There are many things I'd like to say but not wise to. Cheers Colin
  21. I'm also like Anthony I've always kept upto date with Tidworth but never seen it in the flesh so to speak so if I can get a day pass out from SWMBO I'll be hoping to come and see it at Warley. Even better with all those 50's you cant beat an EE type 4. Cheers Colin
  22. Hmmm 2 days of class 50 haulage I think it's gonna be a messy one

  23. I can also concour that IA seems to be playing the game now I've also been using them for at least the past 15 years if anything I find them cheaper as there is no postage fee to pay out seen as I'm in Birmingham playing with the real train set. Cheers Colin
  24. I'd rather be in the cab of the 45 than a 350 desiro purely on the grounds of space and comfort as once your in the seat of the 350 it quickly becomes a bit claustrophobic but on saftey grounds the the 350 is far better. Cheers Colin
  25. Really must pull my finger out and actually do some modelling on the new project
