  1. True! Just go to or any wizzo vid come to that! Hadnt realised 1015 was still in Golden Ochre when involved in Churchill's funeral train! Given that P Way were unable to lay in the required extra crossover at Handborough for the move to the up platform 34051 had to take the empty stock on to Worcester once the dignitaries and the great man had disembarked - so 1015 had to work the stock back from Worcester. Sounds like I'd better get my order in! Phil
  2. Another vote for FFA/FGA freightliner flats and Class 120 DMU in 4mm please Dave Think of all the follow-on container sales.... Phil

    Dapol Class 22

On D6336 Headcode boxes are set lower down, handrails are above headcode boxes, lamp irons are set further out, nose end doors are original 2 leaf not 4 leaf Its the position of the head code boxes that's the no no really - and that determines the position of the hand rails, which changes the lamp irons. Hope that helps Phil

    Dapol Class 22

And we need the later version of the model for that one....please! Phil
  5. Hi Steve Yup Im a Baggies fan! So I'll not voice my opinions on the first 3 but just let the MOTD pundits , press and blogging public speak. But FA Nincompoops? Its taken them since 1966 to sort out goal line technology (But a good job it wasn't in place then I think!) I watched the Wales v SA rugby Sat evening - SWMBO not happy but that's another matter! - where cheating and foul play were identified by the ref assisted by the 4th official and managed appropriately. How long before football has the courage to address the issue? Phil
  6. Chelsea - cheats West Brom - robbed Andre Mariner - duped FA - Nincompoops Discuss! Phil

    Dapol Class 22

We have 2 Only issue was a single axle failure which I soon rectified with a replacement from DCC Supplies Otherwise excellent model Hope we still get the head code box fitted as built version! Phil
  8. Absolutely! If you have ever been involved in interviews with the media which then get published as an article the end result often bears little resemblance to the original. Phil
  9. Hi Kevin Layout is 12 x 9 - six 4 x 4 boards (Less centre operating well) plus 2 additional 6 x 1 scenic boards on the front. Need to draw a decent track plan - will post once done Phil
  10. Battery boxes are a start! Other features such as the triangular grill on the side and nose ends - including head code boxes - varied within the classes Except that - Anything with split headcode boxes is a 45 Anything with an ETH jumper is a 45/1 http://derbysulzers.com/ is an excellent source - don't be put off by the BoBo front page, theres loads on peaks too Cheers Phil
  11. And here we are at the 85A open day - thanks to Mike Smith for the photos Heres Peter Brown helping on the layout - looks like ECoS is taxing me once again.... And an old school chum Andy Lock Prior to recent Toddington open day hadn't seen Andy for many a year. The 85A open day is essentially about railway people - we are very much made to feel part of that, which is rather nice even if its on an honorary basis! Phil Note to self - must paint walls under far side of road overbridge matt black, camera flash is cruel!
  12. Paul I rather think that any loco on that layout would look superb! Many thanks for sharing Phil
  13. Was at my brothers in Colchester last weekend There was a muffled bump late in the afternoon as a bird flew in to the patio window - in the morning there was the poor unfortunate with its neck broken Thought initially it was a song thrush but closer examination revealed- a redwing, buff eye stripe and red under wing the keys Strikes me that's an early migrant - any more spotted yet? Phil
  14. Yup its 5901! And have related sightings of both 8598 and 5705 from Derby in the area - so why not 5901? Must be some evidence out there somewhere! Edit - heres a list of sightings - http://www.rcts.org.uk/features/diesels/loco.htm?id=diesels/D5901 Phil
  15. An awesome layout Andi Glad to hear you have the accommodation arrangements sorted Phil
  16. Cab steps on second man's side + brake rodding - on vac cylinder behind valance both foul Shorten them both Nem pocket eliminates bogie tramp - remove, fit solid valance and coupling loop if using tension lock couplings You should then be OK Phil
  17. Have a sound file from Oxfordshire on a Loksound v4 chip Having ascertained which bass reflex speaker delivers best performance am about to dismember class 23 and send chassis for milling to accommodate said speaker. Will post again once speaker fitted Phil
  18. One for Woodmores of this parish I think! Phil
  19. Heres a video short from the 85A Open Day yesterday. A recreation of a momentous event from 1976 - and a new one perhaps? Cheers Phil
  20. Thanks Kevin Shame you are so far away - the advantage of living round here is most places are reasonably accessible - probably even Inverness by flying but not sure Id want to transport the layout that way! No problems with weather yesterday but blowing up a gale here this morning. How's it with you? Should be another short video on here later with a very momentous event at Abbotswood....! Layout was very well behaved yesterday and the 85A open day is a super event to attend. Have been promised copies of photos of both class 14s and the Blue Pullman at Abbotswood. Yes period is fantastic - there tends to be an assumption that diesels were all uniform livery but you try finding two exactly the same. Track is Peco code 75 - I'll leave those with more knowledge on the subject than me to comment on the feasibility of converting all our stock to EM - but once the track is ballasted and weathered it does the job for me. A compromise we all live with or adapt to suit... Kind regards Phil
  21. 6342 turned up at Worcester one day in 1968 propelling a saloon No Camera though! Phil
  22. Great to see a new layout emerging How did the show go? Phil
