  1. I have to say this is an extremely interesting and poignant thread with some great photos. I remember going to Guide Bridge in the early 80's when I was about 6 or 7 and spending hours watching the endless procession of freights - mainly 25's, 40's, and 76's. I also remember Wath and Dinting and walking through rows of withdrawn 76's. Looking forward to more photos being added.
  2. 670 was taken straight off the scrap line at Margam! There appears to be a P.O.T.O.S thing going on at DB....... Im sure with all the demic tugs at Toytown the DB can cobble together some 1/2 decent beasts!
  3. 009 has taken over from 008 this week on 4M45 and vice 4L92 this week. Shiny shiny!
  4. I see 009 is now fixed as its just tanked past me on L92.....
  5. I think once these few 'niggles' are sorted the 70's will be a good investment for FL, indeed many of my mates really rate them over sheds.
  6. Correct seized bearings. It was working to Stoke Gifford and had to go back to Newport apparently
  7. 'Super 60'? Don't make me laugh!! Look what they did with 37670 - Just because its got a fresh coat of paint doesnt mean its had an F exam!!!! :mocking_mini: Ever heard of POTOS? I love 60's but cant forsee how long they can romp on for!
  8. Hi Alex - Its getting there!! The walkways look great with the 60! Mad but brilliant! Nice one Trev
  9. Out of all the old bangers to choose from at Toytown they go for 011!!! Im no frother but admit to be gutted!
  10. Hi Leon, Liking the new pics! The first picture with your road overbridge kinda reminds me of Ebbw Vale. The Tug looks good on the tanks by the way. Trev
  11. Hi Stuart Loving what you have done the the scrap Duff - very convincing - especially the smashed windows! - Anyone who has been to Canton will testify this is accurate!!! 56062 looking quite forlorn: May I make one tiny suggestion as regards the 47? - Snip off the bogie retaining clips as you can see them through the newly created 'void'. keep up with the good work. Cheers Trev
  12. Damn right - the more the merrier! (I've now got about 35)
  13. It makes me think - have any other locos ever been damaged badly before entering service? I am sure that it will go back and be stripped with all usable parts removed for err... re-use!
  14. Its quite common. From recent memory 60's have been used on the Sandiacre shunt job and also at Scunthorpe. freightliner did it with 47's - there was one of the ex FGW duffs at Dagenham used for shunting. IIRC it had a few TM's isolated.
  15. Caroline and W & S 67 x 325 drags ahoy!

  16. Enjoy Paris Leon, Happy Christmas and all that jazz! Looking forward to some more updates in the New Year - here's a few images I've scanned recently to add fuel to the inspirational fire: Nice one! Trev
