Just shows what daylight can do....
If only we could replicate it?
-
It could be done with a Pi, but I have sufficient spare computers to do the job
-
Umm C10 perhaps?
-
I used Slaters Limestone for "N" gauge - it was about the right size and colour.
-
Good work Andrew. What do you propose putting on top for the soil surface, and how will it stick to the foam surface?
-
Thanks Andrew. I must investigate some for my door.
I have a dehumidifier running in my garage, takes the dampness out and raises the temperature by a degree or so.
-
Blimey Andrew, you're a fast worker!
Can I ask about the garage door insulation, does it make a difference?
-
Suggestion, make the screws captive, and put nuts on from the back, if you can't get the screwdriver in.
Good work as always Andrew.
-
Very nice Andrew.
I'm sure Dave won't mind, wasn't one of these the yard pilot at Cirencester works.....
-
So there is life beyond the umpteen layouts?
-
See you there hopefully, don't forget a fan!
-
Looking good.
Suggest you check all the wheels sit on a piece of glass, the chassis is probably twisted - too easy with the very thin frames.
-
Plenty of clear pictures of the arrangements at Burghclere in "Burghclere signalman", in that both sets of posts were by the signalbox (as others have said).
At the other end of the loop (very long post war) was a remote instrument, so no posts out there.
-
If it's the signal box I think you are referring to, it's a standard late LMS design.
-
It has been a long time Dave!
-
I too had great difficulty starting weathering, but got hold of some spare bodies from Hornby/Bachman and practiced on those. Once I got the hang of it, I was OK. I am also not a spring chicken, but gave it a go.
-
Dave
32' rail lengths are right, the Tintern branch at the quarry was still laid in that on the main line - and that was after closure!
-
You didn't mention turn off the SSID broadcast.
-
I think that "Cotswold" walling is very good, I bought some a while back and repainted it into a much better match for the local stone - stuck it on the layout.
I'm sure you'll find somewhere else to put the spare walling.
That backscene is nicely understated.
-
Looking good Andrew, are you bringing it down Saturday?
-
I'm afraid onlookers at shows do not notice the working ground signals, until pointed out to them, but at least you'll know!
-
Ultimately, it's your train set, and it has to satisfy you. Are you sure that a pure economic argument is sufficient? Two/three years from now will you still feel the same?
I have looked with interest at the new track, but there is more than just track at stake.
-
Very nice pictures of the gorgeous superstructure, but how can one analyse your problem without a picture of the pickups?
-
No pressure then Andrew....

Looks good Andrew.
I can think of a few more numbers that might be useful...
